mishaps and double entendres.

knowing the difference between "your " and "you're ".

okay, since i rarely ever do these blog things, i just want to make it clear to people once and for all. there's a difference between the contractions. please, ff writers, you should be old enough to know the basics of grammar.

  • you're = you are

  • your = belongs to you. possessive.

  • they're = they are

  • their = belongs to them. possessive.

  • there = preposition. "you were supposed to be there fifteen minutes ago."

now, i'm a really picky person when it comes to what i want to read, seeing as there are few stories that catch my eyes (because, in all honesty, there are far too few good, or even decent, stories here.) but i'm a very curious person and curiosity does not, in fact, kill the cat. it does, however, temporarily scars it and makes it wish it never allowed it's inquisitive nature to get the best of them.

another thing i want to point out in this little blog/rant thing here is the overflow of bad stories with even worse titles. please, it's already bad enough that we have movies about zombies or vampires or werewolves falling in love with humans. do we really need stories about falling in love with cats or dogs?

now, that's not to say that all (vamp/werewolf/supernatural)/human love stories are bad, it's just that it's overrated and generally have the same plot and ideas. please be more creative or put your own spin on the stories if you're planning to write one of those supernatural aus. yea?

oh, and i just want to say this about the titles we see here on aff. authors, please, do not, do not, do not use quotes as a title. try to use shorter titles instead, like the saying goes: "less is more". or as emma watson once said, "the less you reveal, the more people can wonder." (meaning, don't use super long titles or give the story away in a title.)

yea? yea. that's all i have to say about this. ^^
