Amber: My First Girl Bias

February 29, 2012- The last day of February and this date comes three years after. Lately I've been into Hallyu scene, not because I love the music, but because of Amber. First saw her on Invincible Youth 2, and had this sudden attraction towards her, and immediately googled her. And I googled and youtubed and Tumblred her for a week! That was it, I knew then Amber was my first KPop bias. Probably the only one.

Why I love Amber? She's quiet, but she's not a snob. She's not Korean, and technically speaking, she's American, which makes her a stranger to Asian culture. But in IY2 I saw her work hard eventho she couldn't really keep up with the language barrier, and she's very cute, especially when she smiles and covers her laughter with her hand. I don't know if she's just a tomboy or if her ual orientation isn't staight, but I don't really care. I see her as a girl, and she's unique! She's not the aegyo type and I find that very refreshing. She doesn't even try to get people's attention but always unconsciously draws people to her! I LOVE THAT ABOUT HER!

I know I probably have inferiority complex when I say this, but I truly feel like Amber is a role model. She embodies the rest of the girls here- the ones without commercial beauties, the awkwards, the tomboys, the lesbians, the overweights, the ones whose true beauty is covered only because they don't have the conventional beauty. Only because they don't fit the bills of the community. That's how I really feel when I see her. Her demanor is tomboyish, but her hands are small n her face too, her face is actually feminine. Especially in f(x) music videos.

These are among the reasons why she's my girl bias. I didn't even follow KPop scene before her! I only watched Korean dramas, and that was it. I'll try to write fanfics of Amber. And I think my fanfics are not gender bender, because I had hoped she would be the girl representing us that love exists, no matter how different you are. I'm sure Amber doesn't mind lol wink  I don't mind if my idol is gay in IRL, but my portrayal of her, she's straight. And I watched her on Youtube about her ideal man, and that she wants to get married early- I think she's a romantic, and she's just like any girls out there. I love her to bits!

Okay enough ramblings. Time to get my hands on my first Amberficenlightened
