I personally feel as though boy groups have an advantage over girl groups since even if they act cute it's not incorporated in their singing. While for girl groups, there is always this whiny sound in their songs and a need to be cute and wide eyed and the girl next door kind of . It gives this ideal and unacceptable image of a girl as though she can't be gross or sit around at home with a t-shirt no make up and just watch football. And although not all girl groups are with a "cute" image then they have to be y. The dances are almost really ty and it really doesn't outline why they're on stage at all. TO BE SINGERS. For example Rania, I heard a few MR removed and a few of the girls didn't sing at all because the dance was too tiring. Well the dance was really "ty" in my opinion and if you are to debut as a singer then SING. I am not hating on them but they really should have said something if they were out of breath while dancing while practicing and asked for a change because I couldn't see their talent at all. Although it's not really my place I am just a little disappointed.

And then there are girl groups like Dalshabet or even SNSD with songs like OH where there is this whine in the singing. I heard them sing a rendition of Lady Mermalade and WOW was it strong and powerful yet with their official songs it's "oppa this oppa that". Yea if male idols can show abs why can't female idols show hips and whatnot but not every song for male groups is like that and this isn't saying some girl groups don't follow that ideal.

I understand there is also a need for guys in kpop to have abs, however there is not as much pressure and it's ok if they don't. Some can be chubby or with mild baby fat and never have to show their stomach on tv whereas most girl groups costume show their entire legs and sometime their mid sections. I honestly don't like the lack of feminism in kpop.

Feel free to comment and disagree with my opinion since there is no right or wrong answer kind of thing but this is just an overall view I wanted to get out. Give me some sound arguments as to why this isn't true and I may see a new light in the situation.
