POINT OF INFORMATION, MADAM. (Guise, need some help here.)

Ahaha. Pardon me for the really random and cheesy blog title.
For those who don't know, I'm in debate (for my CCA - co curricular activity).

And the motion for Thursday's debate is

This house would ban the death penalty.

My question to you is that if the proposition (for the motion) says that there might be emotional destruction caused to the criminal's family - ie the family being broken apart when the criminal dies, what can I (opposition - against the motion) rebut with? I've been thinking and researching and all but I still can't think of a valid argument that cannot be rebutted against! I'm third opp, if you're wondering. Last speaker for the debate. >:)

Any help is appreciated. LOL. Now, a freaking adorable GIF I found on Tumblr -

I ship. LOL OTL, not my OTP tho...
(SEE. OMFG. I SHIP MY ULTIMATE BIASES - JESSICA&IU - WITH TOO MANY PEOPLE)

Ahem. *clears throat*

Debate! Ü
Hm. For me, it's not only the criminal's family to be in great emotional depression, but also to the victims. And death penalty is not raised if the criminal did not do any deathly sin.

LOL, Changmin was smiling like that during Yunho's perf. In IU's they only showed Jiyeon... And well that's a pretty tough subject you've got there. I'd say rebut with the same the opposition's proposition i.e. the criminal killed a victim thus breaking one family in the process. Wouldn't it be just that he faces the consequences of his actions? And he should've thought before he committed the crime that his family would be affected later on. Maybe you should search up the reasoning for why the law is there already, and you'll find your rebut in there, and there are tons of great forums that state other people's opinions and such...

Emotional harm to the family? Okay.
A question to the proposition: do you really think that governments should pardon the severe crime that the accused committed (because the crime really has to be bad to warrant a death penalty), that the emotional strife the families of those harmed by the convicts experienced should be ignored, that justice should not be served to this convict, just in order to spare the emotional strain on the family of the accused? The accused chose to commit the crimes they did, and this warrants them a punishment for their crimes. Even if the death penalty is forgone in favour of lifetime imprisonment, the emotional strain on the families of the accused would be equally as bad as if the accused were given the death penalty. (feel free to elaborate)
Ah my brain is dead so if you want more feel free to ask but for now I'll leave it at this. An I'm not 100% sure I'm right, because I'm not the best debator and I'm only 15 hahahha!! ^^ HWAITING!!!

Debate...I was part of it but was sick on that day and I couldn't be part of it!!! *still regretful*
Lemme go check...I mean, yeah, the emotional one is true. But there are some crimes which simply needs the death sentence right? Like murder. The criminal killed someone, has he/she thought about the victim's family? They will be even more traumatized, right? Or something like that, I'm not sure. LOLS, if this is even what your talking about, I'm totally confused XD
