This blog is in response to a question now often asked around as we’re in the year of another dreading project contract expiry. Whichever fandom it may be, I hope this letter finds you well.

No, we never moved on. We only learned to move forward.

For the first few months, it will be a rough struggle to accept the reality that their schedules will never be what it used to be for the past 2 ½ years. You’ll encounter a lot of internal dilemmas and will be pushed to the limits of how far you can actually absorb and adjust to the new norms. Another tough reality is, you can’t always keep the promises you said to yourself the moment their contracts ended.

But always keep this in mind — it is okay.

It is okay that you will have to take a step back. It is okay that you will have to make a difficult choice. It is okay that you can’t equally be as present as you were when they were still together. It is okay that your priorities will have to shift. It is okay that you will grieve. It is okay that you’d shed a tear for every post reminiscing their times together. It is okay to miss them so badly.

Just don’t overburden yourself, because, I’ll say it again, it is okay. 

And even if you think and everyone else tells you it is not, it will still be okay. Someday, somehow, all will be well. You won’t even realize it right away, but things will be better — for as long as you did what you could and their happiness mattered to you more than your own greed.

There will be differences. There will be changes that will challenge your perceptions. But your support, whether big or small, will always be valuable to each one of them, especially when they’ll be starting a new journey in their individual careers.

So take the ride with ease, and keep them treasured in your own way and always let love and respect prevail in each barricade you face. Then I’m sure, you’ll be able to live through it as well.
