yilin is always around with a smile on her face and there's not one day where you'd see her frown or not showering people with her love. she is also a fan of skinship and she's always going around unniewhoring, throwing her arms around her unnies and stealing them away from others like a boss. she also likes to say cheesy and the smallest things make her happy and the tiniest things can warm up her heart. if you ever hear someone screaming and running about doing crazy things and trying to chat everyone up, that's her. if you see her throwing fanservice around, that's her as well. it's as if she has problems sitting down or as if she has a short attention span or something - she's always moving around. she doesn't like sitting in one place and doing nothing. dream team? running man? let her go on it, she'd be more than happy.

however, other than being childish and immature and all the happy stuff - yilin's extremely hardworking and she's willing to work her hardest. when you see her, you'd probably doubt her abilities because she's just so out of it but she's extremely passionate about her dreams and she's willing to put her fullest to acheiving her goals. she's willing to prove people wrong and to gain people's approval. in addition to all of what was said above, yilin is emotional, graceless, unorganized, and forgetful. we all know she's our little bucket full of joy but whenever the situation calls for crying, she's the first one to get startled and cry whether it is a happy situation or a sad situation. crying is her form of coping mechanism. when she's upset, her eyes water up. when she's emotional, her eyes water up. during her trainee days, she was the one who cried the most as well.

on top of that, yilin is also really unlady like. eating like a maniac.  also one of those girls that would sit with her legs opened or fist bump people. when you walk into her room, everything's out of place. she has clothes on the floor that she hasn't washed for about a week. while other girls worry about putting makeup on, she worries about finding the other shoe to her pair of shoes. there are also snack wrappers sprawled out and about in her room. she's always losing her scrunchies and hair tyes and always has to carry a portable phone charger in the event that she forgot to charge her phone the night before. yilin is also very forgetful about things including names, birthdays, etc. she has a note in her iphone and one of the notes says "the one that looks like the annoying orange : manager + birthday ###." because of this, it's also expected of her to forget choreography and lyrics which makes it extremely hard for her and those that are around her which is why she always puts in the extra mile.

yilin was born in shanghai, china as an only child - being the apple of the eyes to her parents. her dad worked in a car factory and her mother worked as a music school owner. yilin was well loved throughout all of her childhood. she was given the opportunity to learn things and was always supported by her parents. there wasn't much drama as they family of three lived a peaceful life. not only was yiling well loved by her parents, yilin often made friends wherever she went and was always well liked by the neighborhood aunties and uncles.

in school, yilin was never the brightest crayon in the box. she was your average kid who didn't do horrible but didn't do the best. despite her parents wanting yilin to focus on her education, yilin inherited her mom's passion for music and performing. as a teen, she piqued an interest in chinese ribbon dance and learning how to play the pipa. despite her forgetful and unorganized nature, she put forth a lot of effort in learning music and how to be a good performer with the help of her mother. yilin looked up to many different artists in different countries ranging from china, thailand, korea, and japan.

although her parents were skeptical of how well she would be in the celebrity field, they supported her and wanted her to be happy and pursue something that she had motivation for. prior to auditioning, she practiced for a very long time and made sure to know at least conversational skills in korean. she eventually took the first audition chance she ran into.

jiang yiyi. 23. former member of moonbeam and is currently working as a model in shanghai. they trained together during their duration at s2 and provided each other with support and love. they had many things in common such as the language/culture barrier they went through, being from shanghai, and sharing the same interests. they also shared the same room for almost a year with xiaotang sleeping at the bottom bunk. xiaotang took care of yilin and babied her. they're not working together anymore but they continue to keep in contact with each other via wechat and video call. 

cai fengming and yu minglan. the loving and most supportive parents of yilin. a hardworking and chill couple who only want their only child to be happy and have no regrets in life. quiet, calm, supportive and hardworking. the father is the more reserved one and despite his quietness, he has his moments where he can be a crackhead. they call it "dry humor." this dry humor inevitably brings joy to the family. the mother being patient, outgoing, sweet, and soft - she brings warmth to the family especially with her musical talent and her cooking.

trainee at jellyfish entertainment + trainee/former member of moonbeam at s2 entertainment

yilin trained with a company called jellyfish entertainment for two years but was eventually let go. according to the company, she didn't make the cut and despite being given two years - she didn't shine the way she did like the other trainees. this disheartened her greatly as she put her all into it but it didn't stop her from giving up. with her parents' continued support, she auditioned again, landing her another opportunity in a company called s2 entertainment. there, she trained for three years and finally had her official debut with a group called moonbeam. they were active for a little under a year and had one mini album before their disbandment. again, yilin was left company-less.

taking this opportunity, yilin went back to china for a year to spend time with her parents. at that point, she was just going with the flow. not thinking about anything else and just trying to enjoy life especially through all the hardships she's deal with. but she came to found out of something called produce angel  and she decided for it to be her last attempt at becoming an idol before doing something more stable.
