The first thing someone would notice about Yvie is how soft-spoken she is. Especially when around those she doesn't know well, she won't really speak until she's spoken to. Don't confuse this for Yvie being shy or timid. She just truly doesn't know how she's supposed to relate to someone she doesn't know. To be fair, Yvie is still soft-spoken even among people she knows. She just has a tendency to speak in a gentle voice and remain calm. She's a pretty gentle person, usually staying calm throughout situations. Another plus to her being gentle is that she has a habit of being rather kind when she allows herself. And most people assume she's kind when first meeting her. Despite not speaking much, she doesn't give a cold or aloof demeanor at all.

In fact, whether it's because of the way she dresses or carries herself, she attracts attention. Yvie walks with an air of confidence only someone praised her whole life could have. She is very sure of her looks, her style, and her talent. And it's obvious. Aside from her style and her attitude, this trait can also apply to her energy. Yvie is always eager to know more, see more, and do more, ever since she was a child. This is also the reason why she wants to go all the way to the top with Razzle Dazzle. She will never think about leaving the group, and if something were to ever happen to the group, she would feel as broken as she did when Harry-June rejected her. It's not certain whether her intelligence is a result of her eagerness or competitive nature, but Yvie does retain a lot of information. Any time she comes across something she doesn't know, she's going to fall down a rabbithole trying to figure out anything she can about it. A lot of times, when someone is confused about something, she'll pipe in with a quick, "Fun fact!" before explaining whatever was asked. Despite not going to school until high school, she was educated well by her private tutor. If it weren't for her idol life, she could probably get to the top of her class. NoĆ©mie Bernard was the principal cellist of the Orchestre National de France in 1990 when she met the concertmaster of Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra at a networking party for musicians. Lee Sungsoo didn't even want to be there originally, but that changed when he metĀ NoĆ©mie. It seemed the two fell for each other in the beginning, bonding over their love of music and their dedication to their craft.

However, because they both had important roles in their orchestras, they stayed too busy to properly court. The long-distance lovers kept contact throughout the years, but they didn't make anything official until 2001, when Sungsoo propsed toĀ NoĆ©mie. They married quickly and quietly at the ages of 40 and 35. In their older age, they knew they wanted to have at least one child to carry on their lineage and their love of music. This didn't prove successful until 2004 when they found they were finally pregnant.

Lee Yvie was precious to them from the moment they saw the first sonogram. Having saved up enough money to take care of their little family, both Sungsoo andĀ NoĆ©mie retired to take care of Yvie. By the time she was three years old, they put her in front of several different instruments, and she walked right up to the acoustic guitar. It was settled, and she began taking guitar lessons. When she excelled at such a young age, they added piano lessons to her schedule within the following year. Her music teachers were so impressed with her abilities that Yvie was included in a recital with children years older than her. She was deemed a prodigy, and her parents had her auditioning for different music programs and concerts. It was rare for Yvie not to be accepted, sometimes even leading recitals and music concerts.

By the time she was five, Yvie made a name for herself in the classical music industry. It was also at this age that one of her music teachers introduced her to the gayageum. For five years after this, Lee Yvie's life consisted of private tutoring and intense music lessons for the guitar, piano, and gayageum. Her parents were always around, but she never experienced a normal childhood filled with schooling and the freedom to play. Maybe if it seemed to bother her, Sungsoo andĀ NoĆ©mie would have put more of an effort to allow her to live like a normal child. Yet she wasn't normal to them. To them, she was an extraordinarily gifted being with the brightest of futures.

At the age of ten, Yvie had grown somewhat bored with playing the same esteemed classical compositions. This is when she started playing with chords and melodies of her own, making her own songs. Though both parents were proud, it wasĀ NoĆ©mie who couldn't help posting Yvie's accomplishments online. While most was filled with her concert and recital performances andĀ praise from critics and media, she didn't hesitate to post Yvie's own compositions as well. One video in particular of Yvie playing one of her songs on the guitar went viral in 2016. It caught the attention of K-pop idol, Zico, who then encouraged his company to hire her as a musician for one of Block B's tracks.

Despite her young age, Zico was very willing to allow her room to be creative. She impressed him so much by laying down the entirety of the guitar composition for the track that he began teaching her how to use a midi controller and a digital audio workstation (DAW). While Block B laid down their vocals and raps to the song, Yvie played around at the DAW until she added the final beat for the song. The work she did became her first producing experience and her first credited work. It was also then that Zico became her mentor.

Sungsoo andĀ NoĆ©mie were originally thrilled that Yvie was becoming so established at a young age, but they didn't appreciate the direction she was going. She was veering farther and farther away from classical music. They allowed her to continue as a producer part-time while she continued her classical lessons, compositions, and performances. However, when Yvie expressed interest in becoming a trainee in the K-pop industry, they flat out refused. Yvie persisted and begged them, causing her father to give her an ultimatum:Ā pursue classical music with your family behind you or pursue a trashy career by yourself. The options shocked a 14-year-old Yvie and NoĆ©mie, but Yvie was defiant and determined to do what she wanted to do with her life.

That same night, while in tears at what he perceived was his daughter's rejection,Ā Sungsoo dragged Yvie out of her childhood home. Yvie was sobbing andĀ NoĆ©mie was behind them the whole way, begging him to stop and reconsider. She'll never forget her father's final words to her:Ā no daughter of mine will be trashy.Ā If it weren't forĀ NoĆ©mie going behind Sungsoo's back to set up a place for her to live, getting her things from their home, and signing the trainee contract for MIK, Yvie isn't sure where she'd be.

Harry-June's the one to notice her first, so he seeks her out in the crowd of idols and rookies to ask, "Remember me?" They talked as long as they were able to before being called back over to their respective groups. As they were waving at each other, Harry-June accidentally broke the bracelet Yvie was wearing. Feeling bad, he gave her the chain he'd had on. He ended up walking away before catching her swoon (and she had to convince RZDZ's stylist later that the chain belonged toĀ her). After this, every time they see each other at music shows, they wave, talk, stand next to each other, and share little moments wherever they can.
