Gansan's Writing Journal (THE A/N EVER)

About Me:

Let me tell you how I even started sharing. Sharing my works, specifically. Since I started writing because I want to learn and that's pretty much it. So to the fun stuff:

I always share to my irl friend that I wrote something. Imagine a child showing someone their drawing every time and every possible moment. Yes. I was annoying. I still am but I digress. My friend got sick of me sharing because bro wasn't even a mamamoo stan. Nor was he an avid reader of anything. He's very gentle with people except me because whenever he's gentle with me I don't listen out of pettiness. So he told me to shut up and then asked me something that led into a conversation that ended with him saying something like: "You'll lose nothing when you share. That's why it's ing called sharing, ."

And HERE WE ARE. Everyone thank my friend for being sick of me! (we're still friends, he always pushes me to do things that i'm afraid to do)

Some quick FAQs that no one actually asked but I wanna answer because I can:

What do you do other than write? A lot. Coding games and exercises are probably the most interesting?

What do you like the most in sharing/writing? In writing, I just like writing. In sharing, I like interactions. But I have to admit, even interactions made me want to stop. I'm not the type of person to do passion projects. I need an end goal or something that establishes commitment.

What do you like and dislike when it comes to comments? I like any comment that has something positive and personally genuine to themselves even if it is an observation. Comments I dislike are well, what would people dislike? Mean stuff, negative vibes, and bossing me around like I owe it to them. Just think of how you don't want to be treated if you were the writer.

Do you have socials? Yes. But I am 100% inconsistent. I struggle being active in online and open audience settings.

About My Works:

Mamamoo. But that's obvious so let's get to the juicy stuff:

OTPs: I like wheebyul the most then wheesun is a close second mainly because wheesa is my favorite to read (top notch reasoning). Hwasun and Hwabyul are also fun to write and read. Moonsun is the first fic I ever read in Mamamoo and she's always special. But I prefer reading moonsun works than writing. People scare me.

Writing style: I try my best to have a distinct writing style for what I want to do. But since I have little fiction writing experience all I can say is my writing style tends to be in 3rd person but centric towards a character in a scene or chapter. The way I write is playful and detailed on the format/punctuation because I like little effects that they have. But I'm at spelling and ensuring there are no typos. Beta-reading? What's that!?

Narration style: Idk if there's an actual difference the only distinction is that writing style to me is constant to ALL my works from oneshot to multichap to even non-prose. But narration style I tend to change. Like my Wheesun is different from Wheebyul. Or how I have 3 cool tags that I really should bring back. But let me explain them.

  1. Trustworthy Narrator - this means you can just read, feel things, get the story, be happy, and walk away.
  2. Sus Narrator - this invites you to read with more skepticism. Like, don't think I'll pull any cliches. There is a chance for a twist!
  3. Unreliable Narrator - I try to write these shorter because the point is to reread them. 1st reading will be confusing. 2nd may make you see things you didn't notice at first. Even more rereading may even make you have a different story and theory in your head which is a good thing!

Events: Shorter stories that rely on readers to interact with me to have content! These are usually live, but people can read the finished out put anytime.

Some FAQs that no one really asks me but I wish they did so I'll do it myself:

Why do you leave unfinished fics? To be honest, it's less about leaving the readers to anticipate or make them wait. That's an effect but the reason I leave unfinished work is so I have a reason to comeback because I like taking breaks, burnout is something I want to avoid.

What are you most comfortable writing? I would say non-fiction. So basically, I'm not the most confident in my works here. Shocker. Hahaha... I mainly experiment with things I know in writing. I never ensure high quality, but people have told me my works are refreshing?

Do you have published works? Nope, I'm not telling where they are or what they are :p

Do you plan to monetize your work? The amount of turmoil I went through to finally make my crowdfund public was long and tough. I saved that story for the Crowdfund. But if this means if I plan to be a published author for YA or fiction, no. It's not my style and I just love the fanfiction culture too much.

General PSA:

I update this blog post and I might add pages for when I want to explain more about my work and writing but that's really it. For notifs, just subscribe to the blog.
