Prepare in advance because there are many fiction pirates

I said I would update stories this month, but now I don't know if I can keep my word or not because I am busy preparing in advance because I have found information related to fiction piracy/pirate.

Before I had many accounts on novel websites especially I was active on Wattpad, Webnovel, Dreame, Inkitt and, yes, Asianfanfics.

My wattpad account was deleted by the website because my fan sent message to me by suggesting a topic of story to write.

Webnovel did not delete my account but I decided to delete my stories after one website pirated my stories.

Because I was angry and upset about the piracy, I deleted my accounts from Dreame, Inkitt and others.

The biggest problem is most of my stories were written directly on those websites.

In case the stories that I had published on Wattpad were pirated, and I do not have the original document, if I published the same stories, the pirates could say I am the one who stole the story, not them.

Cause of Webnovel is the same; I wrote directly on the site. After I found my stories were stolen, I copied my stories before I removed them, but it is still a problem if I publish the same stories - because the pirates can say I am the wrong one due to the new date of publication being after them. But because I did not delete my Webnovel account, I have a chance to fix it. Though I cannot guarantee I can win over the pirates, I have to try. I re-login my Webnovel account and take the old stories to publish on it, but I don't take full stories, I selected chapters from this story, from that story to combine a book.

For Wattpad and other website cases, I am trying to create a prevention method. It is really hard to think of a method to protect my rights and my works when I am naive and haven't known much related to the online darkside. However, I will work hard to protect my rights as an original author and true owner of the stories. I am thinking of making a video of my story like the 'White Rainbow' video. I know it is not a good way, but now I cannot think of any more useful method than this.

My worry arrived after I found a forum of writers talking about their stories being pirated and some were translated to other languages. There was a writer who said that their story was not yet finished and when the pirate stole it, the pirate pretended to be them (the real writer) then continued writing the story.

It is the reason I pause writing stories and turn to prepare ways to prevent this kind of problem.

This is what I have been through and I have found out, and I would like to share with all the online authors. I don't know how to help all of you, I just hope this kind of information can make you prepare yourself in advance, especially how to protect your work.

It is very stressful, but I am trying to solve it as fast as possible, then I will publish my story on ASFF for the readers.

Thanks for reading, and I hope all of you have good luck and stay safe.
