Typhoon Hinnamnor

When I say this typhoon scares the living daylights out of me, it's an understatement. The scary part for me is the potential for the storm to strengthen as it sits over warm water. As it enters the Korean peninsula and colder waters, it will weaken but not before doing some damage. I live near Busan, so the storm's energy will be at its most potent when it hits us.

Since I live in a small villa on the 3rd floor I don't worry much about my home being too damaged. There are no trees near my house, but there are electrical lines. I worry about those living in the taller buildings and those who live in basement units. I hope that basement unit families can evacuate safely to an above-ground location. Those who live near the major beaches should also worry about storm surges and the water coming in from the ocean.
