DW posted a 6hr livestream of the invasion. Around 5hrs and 22min in, there was most definitely a battle.

No one knows where the president is at this time. 

America has sent 800 troops to Latvia, a NATO country, delivering a message "do not mess with us" to Putin.

Prior to last night's battle in Ukraine, Zelenskyy stated that he was very much in Kyiv, but this may be the last time you see him, saying goodbye to the EU. He urged Ukrainians to be strong, as this will be the worse night. 

There are reporters on the scene of the battleground, but it is unclear what exactly is going on as of right now. It has been noted that the Ukrainian government/military handed out approx. 18,000 weapons to civilians to protect themselves.

That said, if ukraine is not yet defeated, will Putin go full force? Will he invade Latvia and start the world War? Will he overtake Ukraine and gain access to their resources? Will he restrict other countries from those resources possibly stirring up another war?

This is not good whether putin wins or not.
