You are always there for them but when things get better, they just simply leave you and choose the better option. 

An ocean of thoughts

For a fleeting emotion

A hopeful heart turned dull

Happy memories now replaced with pain and regret

This is perhaps the end of it and indeed, when everything ends with a period one must learn not to turn it into a comma.
