APPEARANCE changhoon is nearly a chameleon with his appearance because depending on how he's styled, he can be sharp and intimidating 'bad boy' vibes or soft, sweetheart with the most charming boyish smile. regardless, Changhoon has the visuals of an idol. he's around 185 cms tall with a slim physique of 63kg. he is straight up model height and usually a good few centimeters taller than the other members. he keeps himself in rather good shape by exercising regularly and going on early morning runs every day.
His most eye-catching feature has to be his large doe-like eyes and his sweet smile, very 'pretty boy' features. a boyish slopping nose and a squared strong jaw-line. His lips plump and without the extra intensity of makeup only enhancing his strong features, he literally looks like an entirely softer existence. And don't even get me started on his adorable 'bunny-like' smile, it just adds tons of points in his sweet baby meter. Changhoon definitely has gentleman looks, someone who you wouldn't mind taking home to your parents.
changhoon has both of his ears pierced along with two extra piercings on his right cartilage. currently he has one tattoo that's located on his left forearm above the underside of his wrist. it is a small minimalistic line art of a hallabong attached to a small stem that's colored in a light orange and green. he got it in dedication to his grandma and younger sister (since they still live back on the hallabong farm. he was 18 and missed his fam) but he won't rule out any more for the future.
FASHION STYLE if he were to define his style, it's definitely stylish grungy rock chic meets boyfriend comfort wear. he can go from rock chic to baby boi though with with sweaters and camisoles, but all of his clothes are rather larger because he doesn't like anything to be too tight and restricting or show his body, because it makes him super embarrassed. hues of black and darker shades along with white, creams, and browns, along with some softer hues and pastels. overall, he goes for comfort and casualty. you can catch jiwoo in nice button ups, as well as rocker tees and dark tshirts, platform sneakers or loafers. you can catch him in track suits, and comfortable yet stylish joggers, with an oversized sweatshirt or tshirt, as well as a colorful windbreaker. if he wants to be casual and stylish, he'll wear a band t or some kind of graphic t with skinny jeans and platform shoes or clunky sneakers. when it's time to dress up, you best believe changhoon is going to take it very seriously and look stylish to a t. a very nice dress shirt/button up that is silk or satin, sometimes velvet and other lush materials, with ripped jeans or fitted trousers. lots of jewelry and makeup, and sometimes a huge sweater if its colder or nice outerwear like pea coats, or trenches.

Changhoon has always been a bit prim in personality. Changhoon is more like a hearth with a gentle pull of warmth and spark of light without a giant flame. Though when kindled, his fire can grow, which is very evident with his overemotional tendencies.
He’s warm and full of heart, though soft and passionate - a little baby nerdy sunshine. He's the type who completes all of his assignments in college early, stays up all night to memorize new choreography because he knows it's not his strong suit, or going the extra mile by writing his own rap parts for comebacks. He's the type who would open doors for you, cheer you on when you're nervous, or share his snacks just because—the little dork who openly gushes about his interests and doesn't get embarrassed by it. Changhoon is... well, he's a big innocent dork.
Changhoon is very dedicated to his passions, hyper-focusing on things like perfecting his rapping style and diction, school, and other responsibilities, which makes him come off as tight-laced and cold at times. Although this is just when Changhoon is in the zone, underneath his studiousness is a sweet and empathetic person, very affectionate and loving. The most loyal friend who will be there for you whenever you need him or whenever you don't need him.
He's one of the most reliable people, someone, you can put your complete faith in, and he won't let you down. Nah, Changhoon is way too uptight to let you down.
Changhoon doesn’t like offending anyone but is a stickler for the rules, a prim little goody-two-shoes who can't stand breaking order. He'd rather just do what is expected in order to avoid unnecessary conflict and stress since he's typically stressed 1000% of the time anyway, he doesn't want to add to that.
Raised to value authority, Changhoon is going to stick to the natural flow of routine. He's not going to go out of the way in order to push boundaries that are in place for a reason. The only time he's going to break said rules are if he feels like something isn't right or fair, but that's a rare occurrence.
If their manager, CEO, or trainer says to do something, he'll do it without question, and that's that. Even if everyone else attempts to skip responsibilities, you can always rely on Changhoon to do as he's told, even if he has to by himself. He’s a kind person, albeit considered weird and dorky by some, but he’s genuinely caring and thoughtful.
Being on the rather shy side, he's more commonly seen in smaller groups. Though he has quite a few acquaintances, Changhoon has a few close friends to who he sticks to. Changhoon can go on and on, gushing in excitement over his passions or when invested in a conversation. It's not unusual to see Changhoon dork out over something and fanboy like an idiot. It also doesn't help that he gets hyped about stuff like music theory, college courses, science, etc... which, who the hell enjoys that? Besides Changhoon, of course. No one.
Changhoon is gentle and feels very strongly. He's easily affected by situations that tug at his heartstrings or cause him stress or end up hurting him. He gets emotional about everything. Changhoon is probably one of the most overemotionally unstable people out there. He's just very expressive and affectionate. He doesn't really hide his feelings. He's an open book.
Of course, being overemotional embarrasses the heck out of him, but it's not like Changhoon can help it. Stress and anxiety often get to him, and it's easy for him to have a mental breakdown. Being a softhearted little bub, even Disney movies make him cry tears of joy. Changhoon is just always feeling and showing it, and it's awful, but that's how he is. However, his feelings allow Changhoon to be more open with his thoughts and emotions.
Changhoon is a diligent and strong-willed, resilient, and extremely straight-laced when it comes to idol work as well as academics. He doesn't slack off and instead is almost fanatical about getting his work done and stressing when people don't.
People tend to assume he's stuck up and prim because of his 'good little idol' demeanor, but he doesn't mean to be stuck up about it. He's just very passionate about everything he dedicates himself to. Changhoon is responsible and even a bit overly enthusiastic about learning and music, which definitely makes people call him a nerd at times, but he isn't really bothered by it. He just wants to delve deep into the world of music and explore different styles in order to become a good rapper and performer.
Changhoon also has a habit of well, putting his nose in others business by lecturing to 'help' others. Changhoon doesn't really think twice about confronting people with personal issues or of matters of morals or rules. Even if he's naturally shy, he'll swallow that down to lecture or nag in order to fix an issue, even if he isn't actually helping. It's not unusual to see Changhoon in a situation entirely none of his concern.
If someone is about to start a fight, he'll confront them. If he hears that someone is distressed, he'll try to soothe or prod to find the root of the issue. Someone is running in the halls, and that's against company policy? Cue Changhoon going over there just to tell them they're breaking the rules and lectures about the importance of being a model idol.
Changhoon is also very honest and has a kind personality despite his mild demeanor, so if someone needs comfort, he's usually the one to go to. He won’t hesitate to reach out to anyone, especially if Changhoon can see that they’re hurting or he thinks they need a friend. He gets exasperated very easily and wants to get mad, but others usually find it cute when he’s mad because he gets all pouty, and Changhoon's glares are pretty harmless.
The only time Changhoon gets more than a bit naggy or haughty and showing a more brash side is when he's beyond pissed off. When he’s angry, he means business and will bust out of his shell and defend himself, even outright fighting if the situation is beyond words.
Changhoon can become extremely sassy in this case and won’t tolerate meanness or outright evil actions. Despite being a quieter boy, Dae hates when people push others or bully. And if someone he cares about or just someone, in general, is in danger, Changhoon will not hesitate to step in. He will not stand by and let that happen, regardless of his discomfort.
Of course, there are some situations where Changhoon's emotions overcome his calm exterior and when he's beyond angry, stressed, or upset are the critical moments that is most obvious. Changhoon gives into stress fairly easily. He can think clearly in tense situations, but when he's nervous, he's prone to rambling, and Changhoon can even start shouting in some cases if he's been pushed far enough.
When Changhoon feels pressured or gets lost in the heat of the moment, oh lord, another side can come out of him completely. He turns from a soft angel bby to a fierce lil man who will you up. (well, if ing you up means punching you with his baby fists while yelling and partially crying. or worst-case-scenario, throwing something at you)
Changhoon isn't all just a gentle dorky pushover, no - he might be kind, but he's not going to let someone run over him or others. He will slowly work himself up to snapping and telling you off before quietly leaving and shunning you. He doesn't necessarily like conflict and tries to avoid it, but he won't hesitate to result in such tactics if pushed. However, if he takes on a responsibility, he'll see it through to the end, even if he's nervous or scared.
Changhoon is also very easy to embarrass, and some of his friends take fun in making his face heat up – he's occasionally compared to a tomato in those instances. Because Changhoon is so mild, It's difficult for some people to take him seriously, which irritates him to no end. Changhoon can let a lot of things slide, but if there's one thing he hates, it's being looked down on. Changhoon knows he looks weak, and with his timid nature, he doesn’t seem like he can do much, but he hates when people doubt him or think of him as someone who needs protecting. He's a man, for goodness sake, and he can take care of himself, regardless if he's emotional or not! (so he thinks lmao)
Changhoon strives to be someone that people can look up to and feel safe with because he knows at a point in his life he wasn’t the hero type and was too shy and self-doubting to do what’s right, but Changhoon will not let this go and has his heart set on being a reliable and strong person without insecurities. Changhoon is determined when he sets his mind to something, and he won’t give in until Changhoon has completed what he’s set out to do.
Changhoon's morals are sound, and his sense of right and wrong is fair but firm. He won't compromise on his principles and refuses to interact with people he finds unfairly mean or malicious, but he will try to give them the benefit of the doubt at first.
BACKGROUND
Changhoon was born in jeju-do, south korea, the beautiful country island that was home to his family's hallabong farm. changhoon lived a good childhood, blissfully unaware of his family's financial struggles and instead enjoyed playing with the farm animals and helping his parents harvest hallabongs, a type of jeju island tangerine.
changhoon's family wasn't the most well-off in jeju and often times his parents struggled to make ends meet, especially since they had to manage the farm while taking care of his elderly grandparents. Changhoon didn't mind though and always made do with what he was given. his grandmother, being very old and feble could no longer go out and tend to the animals and crops, so she mostly stayed indoors and cooked, cleaned, and helped with housework. changhoon enjoyed spending time with her, especially since she taught him things about animals and the world.
his grandmother was the one who taught him how to draw and often sang songs to changhoon as a kid. she signed him up for the church choir when he was old enough to take part and changhoon was so proud of his position, especially since his family was happy to see him up on stage. it became very evident that by the time changhoon entered school, he was rather gifted intellectually. his family encouraged a studious lifestyle, hoping he would do well in school in order to get a college scholarship in the future. changhoon was well ahead of his classmates and with the passing years he was pretty much getting very little stimulation.
at 10 years old, his younger sister Chunhei was born and is was becoming super difficult for his parents to support the entire family. with this in mind, they sent changhoon to live with his aunt and uncle in incheon, south korea, where he would not only get a better education that suited his skill but would also be well taken care of considering his aunt couldn't have children herself. changhoon was treated very well by his aunt and uncle, who were more than happy to host changhoon. changhoon was both excited and nervous to leave his family's farm for a huge city. he missed his family but also looked forward to the new experiences and new school.
changhoon thankfully had a month to get used to his new home in incheon before starting school. the little country kid was in awe over pretty much everything he came across in the huge industrialized incheon. his little mind was blown when his aunt and uncle took him on a short trip to seoul one weekend on the incheon train. the world as he once knew it was so different and amazing. he had a lot to look forward to exploring and that thought made him even more excited for school.
although, when school started, changhoon had a huge culture shock. his tiny school where he barely had like fifteen classmates was nothing compared to the massive empire that was the new elementary in incheon. considering his aunt and uncle both made fairly decent money, they were able to afford a home in the upscale district of yeonsu-gu, where he also attended a super fancy high-class school. changhoon didn't know what to think when he was introduced to his new class of twenty-something peers, all from equally well-to-do families.
being the naïve kid at almost 11 years old, changhoon he didn't realize that being the new kid as well as the 'country-hick' would be extremely detremental to his school experience. the other peers relentlessly, calling him 'countryhoon' and 'lowerclass' because of his stories from his experiences on the farm. the others thought he was 'dirty' and poor which led to many days of changhoon running home crying. it was absolutely horrible and very traumatizing for a child. because changhoon was so traumatized from the bullying, his aunt demanded the school to switch him to another class. when the headmaster agreed, changhoon was moved to a much better classroom environment but he had already learned the cruelty of children and became much more shy than he already was.
changhoon didn't want to talk about where he was from with the students of his new classroom and instead stayed rather quiet and focused on his studies. a few other classmates reached out to him and he was able to make a few friends but he avoided speaking about where he was from in case they judged him.
school was harder here but he actually loved the stimulation and did very well, earning himself a spot in honors. his aunt signed him up for extra science clubs where he made a lot of like-minded friends and really enjoyed going. he slowly settled into his new life, only going home to see the rest of his family during holidays and the summer. as much as he enjoyed certain aspects of living in the city, he also felt so relieved when he returned to jeju. changhoon spent time catching up with his grandparents and baby sister, as well as playing with the animals and continuing his choir membership during the summers. his family encouraged him to continue to focus on his studies for his future and he was determined not to let them down. as he got older, changhoon also realized the truth of his family's financial situation and that made him try extra hard to maintain honors.
despite having a few friends at school, changhoon's best and closest friends were in the science club so he mainly felt comfortable and like himself around them. they introduced him to a lot of different city culture that he wasn't used to, and even showed him kpop. he hadn't had a clue what it was since his parents and grandparents listened to korean folk songs and trot, so he hadn't ever heard kpop or anything current age.
btob quickly became one of his favorite groups and he would listen to them all the time with his friends. he really admired minhyuk, thinking the man was one of the most talented people he had ever heard, especially since he had no clue what rap was until now. and his rap, it was out of this world to changhoon. of course, changhoon liked many different styles of music and enjoyed a good ballad, but he couldn't deny that he also liked kpop and the rap and r&b elements.
changhoon listened to various groups throughout his school years, and became obsessed with mamamoo's hwasa and day6's youngk to add to his growing list of biases. school finished just like that, him living a hectic schedule of homework, studying, and science club. eventually changhoon graduates in 2016 as an honor student and receives a coveted scholarship to seoul national university where he majors in chemistry and minors in engineering.
changhoon, for the first year of college focuses entirely on maintaining an above average gpa. of course he loves learning and is always excited for class since he's a freak like that, but really he also felt like something was missing in his life. he was doing everything his parents had wishes, doing well in school enough to earn a scholarship at the top university in seoul, and eventually get a stable career that makes good money so he wouldn't have to struggle in life like they did. he was proud that he accomplished this for them, but at the same time, he wanted something else.
he had always enjoyed singing for fun and in church choir. he never considered himself idol material or thought about the idea whatsoever. sure he idolized many groups (and his biases mamamoo's hwasa, day6's youngk and btob's minhyuk) and had lots of idols and solo artists he looked up to but he wasn't really that kind of person. he was practical and would get a good, stable job like his parents always wanted for him.that thought made him put anything else aside.
one day, when he went into a nearby cafe to study for an exam, he was approached by a yg agent who offered him an audition but he was scared it was a scam so he threatened to call the police and report them because he's an idiot. the man panicked, obviously, because there is a dumb changhoon threatening him, and finally revealed his business card and told changhoon to call the company if he would like to affirm his job. changhoon took it but was super doubtful of the dude.
later he told his friends about it and they called him an idiot and told him to think about auditioning. changhoon, wanting to prove them wrong, decided to google the number to see if it was from yg. he couldn't find anything on the internet but decided to call it anyways and low-and-behold, it was a private company line that let him schedule an audition. shocked, changhoon did it, thinking nothing would happen, instead he was accepted, went to the audition several weeks later, and became a member of yg.
changhoon was both floored and elated, but he didn't want to tell his family, for fear they would think it was irrational. so changhoon kept it a secret, only telling his friends who flipped and congratulated him.
everyone knew yg training was especially grueling, considering they were known for producing some of the top kpop groups in the country. you had to know how to rap, sing, and dance, no exceptions. changhoon had only ever sang, just for fun and wasn't really bad at it. he was pretty good for the most part, but what really got him compliments was his rapping. considering the forced all trainees into rap lessons, changhoon had to face it one way or another. he figured he'd be horrible but actually, somehow he had rhythm and flow... he had no idea how it just happened.
after training at yg for two years and nothing happening, changhoon began to worry that maybe this wasn't the right path for him and he should just focus solely on uni. he only had two years left until he finished his degree but maybe if he did uni fulltime then he could finish faster... he had a better shot at getting a chemical engineering job than being picked as an idol right?
so changhoon considered quitting and doing just that until a fellow trainee suggested that he try his luck at auditioning for star ent. where they were also planning to try out. thinking the audition as fate, changhoon decided to let the choice of his future be decided by auditioning to the company. really not expecting much, changhoon was floored when he was accepted into star entertainment. he promised to himself that he would finish out his degree part-time while training at star ent, and he fulfilled his promise. after he graduated from uni with his degree, changhoon told his family the truth about his part-time training at yg and star entertainment. at first the only people that were excited for him was his aunt and uncle, younger sister and grandparents, while his parents were pissed. they told him it wasn't a good idea and that maybe sending him to incheon in the first place was a terrible thing to do that led to him making poor choices.
changhoon was so hurt that they felt that way, but when his grandmother called him one night to tell him how proud she was of him and that she always knew how much he loved music, he decided to everything and just go for it. his parents eventually come around once he debuts since he did earn his degree after all and has something to fall back on.

TRAINEE LIFE going in as a trainee at yg, changhoon only really expected to be a vocalist. but apparently that's not how life works at yg. he did not expect to be a rapper, that's for sure. he definitely didn't expect to be the 'main' rapper either. every trainee is trained in all three aspects of performance: vocals, dance, and rap. considering yg is one of the big three and specifically known for their rappers, changhoon was shocked that he was forced to always learn how to rap. what he really didn't expect was that he was actually good at it?
getting compliments from his rap trainers, changhoon was constantly selected as a rapper for monthly evaluations rather than a vocalist, so he kind of just went with it at the time. he didn't really have a preference, he enjoyed both singing and rapping, so it was fine with him, but he didn't think he was exceptional or anything. rap training at yg was difficult and very complicated and everyone was insanely dedicated. changhoon learned fast that he needed to be just as dedicated if he wanted to go far so he quickly adopted the attitude. being the resilient student that he is, he took lessons just like he took academics and brought his a game.
after working his off at yg while continuing college, it was difficult to balance both but he made it happen with very long nights and little sleep. what made him begin to doubt himself was when the rumors got around yg that there would be a new boy group program filming soon that would determine the lineup of yg's new boygroup. when the time came for trainees to be selected for 'treasure box' filming, changhoon wasn't one of those boys.
he begin to really doubt himself and his abilities. were people just telling him he was good at rapping so he wouldn't feel bad? was he awful at singing too? he wondered if this was even the right path and if he should just give up and focus on college full time instead.
when another trainee who wasn't selected for treasure box suggested that he audition at star entertainment with them, changhoon thought of it as his last resort. this would be a decision of fate, if he got in the company then he would continue the idol path and if not, he'd focus full time on uni and quit everything else like his parents wanted.
changhoon was shocked when he was accepted into star entertainment after his audition. he was even more shocked by the positive comments he received on his rapping skill. rumors circulated about a 'new rapper from yg' and of course he got a reputation as a mysterious 'cold' trainee from the big three. changhoon was nervous about keeping up with all the hype and rising to the occasion. he didn't want to let anyone down but he didn't believe he was that good either. during training, many other trainees complimented him, including a few trainers and changhoon finally realized he had that extra spark that made him a credible idol-in-training.
his training at star was pretty similar to yg, although, now he had people like ezra to help him out with choreo that made him more qualified to debut in renegade b.

She is his mother's younger sister who wasn't connected to the farm (since it's on his dad's side of the fam). she moved from jeju to attend college and ended up marrying her husband, a rather successful editor at a korean-based publishing agency. eunhye herself is a fashion assistant at korean 'paper'.
because of a horrible case of endometriosis, she was unable to have her own children, so she was so excited to connect with changhoon. she suggested that changhoon come live with them after chunhei's birth considering her sister's financial situation and changhoon's high iq. changhoon's mother reluctantly agreed which was what prompted changhoon's entire new life journey. he lived with his aunt and uncle for years throughout elementary and until he graduated high school, only visiting his real home during the summer and holidays.
eunhye is pretty much changhoon's mother figure (besides his own mom, but no offense, he's kind of closer to his aunt). she constantly tries to check in on him and encourages him to think outside of the box and push his limits. she was so proud when he finally auditioned to yg entertainment (being one of the people who tried to force him into it because she knew his love of music).
she's rather immature for her age, and definitely very bubbly and outgoing but she means well. she has influenced him so much and despite her annoying habits of calling him a 'dork' and 'nerd' and trying to get him to live his life to the fullest, he loves her very much.

HISTORY
to say that ezra and changhoon got along together from the beginning would be a lie. when changhoon transferred to his new agency, star ent. changhoon was up to his usual shyness. having had the less the pleasant experiences in his time with 'rich kids' he couldn't help but think the same about ezra and evelyn when other trainees informed him of their chaebol homelife.
because of changhoon's bad experiences, he really didn't love the idea of being fellow trainees with a chaebol, especially with how cocky and showy ezra seemed to be.

expecting the absolute worst, changhoon was extra shy and prim, upon their initial practice meeting. changhoon had the mindset of getting their together and finished so they would do well, regardless of whom his partner was. changhoon had expected the younger to be a cocky , with an elitist mindset. boy was changhoon floored when not only was ezra slightly cocky, but he was such a bubbly and energetic person. he was actually nice... was excited about working together and man, could the kid dance unlike anything he had seen. he'd only seen this talent before at yg when he'd been an extra in an ikon mv and had witness their main dancer dk do his thing...
ezra was amazing and changhoon was beyond impressed. he still was shy but managed to talk more to the boy and be his usual polite self. slowly, the more they spent time together and practiced, changhoon begain to realize that he had made a very wrong error about ezra.
changhoon felt guilty as hell for judging the boy before knowing him. this all came to a head when ezra offered to buy them both lunch at the cafeteria without making a comment whatsoever about how 'rich' he was or anything of that nature. changhoon immediately burst out an apology, much to ezra's confusion and shock. he told ezra how he had wrongfully judged him and was so horribly sorry to have made assumptions and ezra just brushed it off, laughing at the ridiculousness of the entire situation and offering his friendship to changhoon.
changhoon was so relieved that the other wasn't upset, and that day blossomed into the best friendship.
of course, changhoon is also super afraid of evelyn. just because he is now friends with ezra, does not mean he's besties with his twin sister. if anything, the shorter girl is scary af with her intensity and sarcasm.
changhoon tries to pretend like he's not afraid of her, but it's pretty obvious that he is. even after their friendship slowly transforms into a crush on changhoon's side, changhoon is even more afraid of evelyn because it's her twin that he likes.
basically, ezra and changhoon become very close. ezra is one of the only people who never makes fun of him for having a 'struggling' family, or for being from a farm. instead, ezra is very enthusiastic about everything and inquires a lot about farm life and jeju island. during a short period of time that the group gets off for vacation, changhoon takes ezra with him back to jeju. at first, he had planned on just going alone, but ezra surprisingly is interested in seeing what a farm is like, so changhoon agrees to let him come with him.
changhoon worries the entire plane ride there that ezra will be super grossed out by farm life and getting 'dirty' considering he's a rich boy and all. but when they get there, changhoon is again blown away by how enthusiastic and excitable ezra is about everything. since he's very athletic, ezra doesn't hesitate to volunteer his help with farming and taking on heavy loads. changhoon is shook af and realizes one night when ezra is playing with chunhei out with the baby goats, that he might be in love with the other.
he just feels close to the other, in a way he hasn't felt with anyone else. he can tell him anything without fear of the younger judging him, and he doesn't mind when changhoon acts like a dork about science stuff or is in awe of changhoon's quick mathematical equation spouting off the top of his head.
yeah ezra laughs at him when he cries at pixar movies, but then ezra cries along with him and they're both idiots. overall, he really treasures their friendship but he also treasures ezra as a person and would be devastated if ezra wasn't in his life.

after the taping, surprisingly evelyn is the one to confront changhoon about it. she calls him out for acting weird and knows he likes her brother because obviously, she's not stupid. when changhoon panics, evelyn tells him to chill that she's not upset and it's cool. from then on, changhoon develops a closer relationship with evelyn too, and understands her a bit more. he confines in her a lot too, especially about ezra, and she's always quick to give him advice because she just wants whats best for her twin.
INTERACTIONS
ezra and changhoon have a strange relationship, for the most part, but it works for them. ezra is very loud, whereas changhoon is mostly toned down unless he's excited about his nerdy . ezra is always quick to hype his excitement up though which brings changhoon out of his shell.
ezra tends to bring out the best (and sometimes worst) in changhoon. he makes changhoon feel comfortable and always gives him a good laugh. hanging out with ezra is so refreshing because he's very different than changhoon. whenever changhoon is sinking in anxiety, ezra always brings him out of it and makes him feel lighter and happier.
of course, ezra also tends to trigger changhoon's exasperation at times too lol. changhoon is aware of how.. sensitive and naïve ezra is and takes that into account when explaining things to him. although, sometimes ezra's little jokes can set changhoon off, causing him to chase the younger around or get annoyed, but it doesn't last long because ezra is too cute to be mad at for anyone.

pretty much the idiot/intellectual couple, and dork/goofball, country prince/chaebol king, and beagle/angel. super cute sunshine boys. even though changhoon doesn't feed into a lot of people's pranks and playfulness he definitely does with changhoon. their stage presence too is crazy intensely fiery.
ENDING
changhoon works on his 'confession' in the form of the only full song he has ever written and partially composed. thanks to his piano skills and the help of his best friends kevin and chanhee, along with group mates and evelyn, changhoon creates his confession: soulmate. he initially creates it as a duet between a female vocal and himself for the male rap verse. but he decides he'll preform the whole thing by himself (after the girls refuse to help him since they said he needs to confess himself lmao) so he takes on the difficult task. the song itself is vibrant like ezra, warm and bright, like a day on the beach. it's everything that reminds him of ezra, a billowy breeze, jazzy rhythm, and soulful lyrics. it's perfect, something that warms your heart and makes you smile at the nearly cheesiness.
changhoon works his off practicing in secret with his friends help. he convinces the other members to keep it a secret from ezra. [love shake] and [roar] give him vocal run practice in secret and help him to complete the composition. he really thinks it fits the boy better than anything else he could've come up with.
finally, after two whole months of perfecting his confession song, it's ready. changhoon doesn't really feel ready himself, but everyone insists it's time and he'll do fine. in the days leading up to ezra's birthday is when he decides to put his plan into action. changhoon starts avoiding ezra for three days. at first, ezra doesn't catch on to his weird behavior, but then it happens: evelyn and changhoon get into a huge fight. it's super out of character for both of them and the whole group seems stunned but especially ezra.
ezra tries to talk to evelyn who shuts him down and blows him off, telling her twin that it's "fine, nothing you need to worry about." and all but slams the door in his face. ezra then tries to talk to changhoon, who rarely fights with anyone, let alone ezra's sister.
ezra gently knocks on changhoon's bedroom door, for once feeling awkward and strangely cautious. when changhoon says he can come in, ezra bursts inside and asks what happened. changhoon doesn't even look at ezra, instead has his head burried in the score for their new comeback and says "nothing daesung." firstly, ezra is taken completely off guard because who the was he calling 'daesung'!? and secondly, changhoon never shut him out, he was always openly honest about anything and everything. and thirdly, changhoon always gave people his full attention when they came to talk to him. for changhoon to outright ignore him for a music sheet, that's unlike him.
ezra begins to wonder if they're even really friends, or if changhoon even trusts him since he's suddenly acting so weird. instead, ezra quietly says sorry and leaves. the weird behavior carries on for a few days until it gets closer to ezra's birthday.
everyone is still in a weird mood by his birthday. it's very tense and no one even seems to remember or be bothered by the date. ezra, too worried now to mention his birthday, keeps quiet for once. evelyn is suddenly busy in the studio and promises they'll do something later. the rest of the squad are also 'busy' and push ezra to the side.
when ezra tries to approach renegade's leader about it, he just brushes the behavior off and tells ezra that he needs to practice more on the choreography for their next comeback by himself. ezra is obviously super confused because why does he need to do it by himself?? how can he, an amazingly talented dancer be lacking in any way?
when he gets to the practice studio, the door is shut and the lights are off. poor baby ezra is already beyond confused and concerned, drained and upset that everyone seems to be fighting with each other and he's so freaked out that they might break up as a group... ezra doesn't even think as he opens the door and goes to flip the lights on, but his hand pauses in the air, when he realize faint lights have flickered on.
the practice room is alight in soft fairy lights, strung up across the hardwood floor and walls. a bright, summery hued blanket lays in the middle of the lights, next to a stray beach ball, several fake potted mini palm trees, with a fake 'firepit' filled with orange glowing fairy lights.
ezra is confused af when the rest of renegade comes out of the shadows in cute 'beachy attire' and changhoon sits carefully on the blanket. evelyn presses play on the sound system and suddenly a song starts and all ezra can do is stand there and stare like an idiot.
one of the members starts playing a guitar along with the pretty jazzy melody and changhoon starts to sing, followed by the sweetest rap. "You waited for a long time. Hello, my soulmate"
near the end of the song, evelyn walks forward holding an Australian-themed birthday cake, a wide grin on her pretty face. Changhoon quickly stands up and follows her, gently handing an envelope to ezra.
when ezra opens the envelope, he's surprised to see a painting of himself and chunhei. it's a painting of a photo changhoon had taken when chunhei visited. ezra sits on the floor in the dorm living room, braiding chunhei's hair while his own two-toned hair is fixed up in tiny twin-tails at the very crown of his head, chunhei's work. the two are matching in panda onesies and ezra has the brightest grin on his face- mid laugh...
it's absolutely breathtaking and ezra hadn't even realized until now that changhoon didn't delete the photos.
above the oilpainting is the words, written in swirly , in english: "will you be my soulmate?"
before he can do anything, something else falls out from the envelope to plop onto the floor. ezra quickly bends and scoops up the little pieces of cardpaper. now that he can see it better, the boy skims over the words printed at the top of the thin card, 'vip ticket to btob seoul concert.'
ezra and changhoon's idol, minhyuk's group. it was tickets to his concert.
ezra looks up in time to see changhoon light the candles on their birthday cake, before evelyn takes her stunned twin's hand.
"happy birthday, dopey" she whispers, with that sly grin on her features, and ezra meets changhoon's soft smile. "happy birthday...and confessional."
