BACKGROUND

Birth
Iseul was born on a warm spring day, in the early morning. Her mother's pregnancy had been a smooth one, and she was born right when expected. From the very first breath she took, she was welcomed with bright smiles, silk clothes and the finest of care available. Because of the day she was born on, her parents named her Iseul after the dew that clung to the windows of their large estate. The name alone would show her class before she even knew what it meant.

Childhood
Iseul was taken care of by a nanny and a night nurse, ensuring that her every need was always taken care of without so much as a shout. She was a bright child who learned quickly and was always striving to know more. From the age of 14 months, Iseul began speaking in full sentences - and never stopped. She always had to ask questions, striving to learn everything around her. When she was four, she began schooling lessons. These taught her the arts of reading, writing, ettiqute, and language. She excelled in them all, and by six had asked to learn ever more languages. She blossomed under the knowledge and the ability to learn. She was a bit of a rebellious child, though, often sneaking out of her bedroom at night and stealing a book to hide under a tree until the sun rose once more. Her mother passed away in  the childbirth of her sister when she was eight. The news stuck her horribly, despite the fact that she was not extremely close with the woman. Over the years their bond had grown, especially when her mother talked of the prince, and how one day they would marry. After all, she would be the most beautiful and smart woman - and that would clearly make her the best canidate for queen. Iseul never forgot the plans her mother made for her, holding them dear to her heart as one of the few memories she could keep, along with her jewelry. At the age of eleven, Iseul's father remarried. Lady Jisoo was a vibrant woman, but they clashed from the very start.

Teenage years
Once she reached twelve, Iseul began her woman's studies. This taught her the arts of homelife, and what she would be expected of when she was married. Iseul hated these classes. She found them boring and ingorant of all the things she could do in life. She, as self diagnosed, was too smart to be stuck in a house for the rest of her life, with nothing to indulge herself on but perhaps a small library and social events. Of course, Lady Jisoo had ideas in mind for Iseul and her sister, Miju. She sent them to finishing school, making sure they would be ready for their first social calls.

Adult life
Iseul entered her first social season only a month after coming of age, though she had been preparing for the day for several years. There had been whispers about the Duke of Daejeon, the House of Ahn, holding a beauty beyond measure. Iseul did her best to live up to it. Her personality shone brightly, and she was well sought after. Iseul always remained vibrant, flirting her way around the social circles and working her way throught the crowd. She learned to greatly enjoy social events and found they broke up her rather mundane routine and life back home in Daejeon. At the socials, she was free to be the lady everyone wanted, and no one could have. That was, until two seasons ago. Her stepmother was approached by the Marquess of Sejeon for an acception of courting from his son to Iseul. She accepted, though Iseul did not. Garam was not a horrible man by any means, but she knew the plan - her mother's plan - and she would not let that slip through her fingers. She begged her father to extend the courting process, citing her mother - and he agreed. As a man who had fallen in love with her mother, and his first wife, and married for status the second time, he agreed that she should marry for love. As she did not love Garam, the courting period was extended until she fell in love - whether with him or someone else. During the last season, her father had been approached by the Duke of Busan, Yoon Jongmin, also looking for a courting period with Iseul. He'd been informed of the details of the Marquess of Sejeon's courting, and given the same. Both men were required to make her fall in love with them in order to have her hand. Jongmin tried his best for the rest of the season, but his reserved nature made it hard for Iseul to even connect with him.

Current
Iseul hasn't given in yet to the courting of Garam or Jongmin, though she often enjoys their company while at social events. There's whispers about her, she knows, but she can't give up on her dream before she's given the chance - and now that the crown prince is to give up his playboy ways and find a wife - her chance has finally come. If her luck proves unweilding, she has told both Garam and Jongmin that she will choose a suitor by the end of season.

TRIVIA likes, dislikes, habits, hobbies, etc. there is no limit, so go crazy! these are the small things that i wish to include to build the character's story.
RELATIONSHIPS

"If I was to fear for my crown at all, she'd be the devil behind it all."
— Queen Sujeong from Imperial House of Kim

replace with fc replace with fc replace with fc

Queen Sujeong / Imperial House of Kim / 60%
— The Queen and Iseul have been attending functions and social gatherings for years. They know one another well enough to have lighthearted conversations. However, both women are known for their strong social abilties and their even stronger personalities. They could be good friends, or mortal enemies. Depends on the day really.

Lord Yul / House of Lee / Friendly / 60%
— They have danced a time, or thrice. There's been enough conversation between them (read Iseul talked and Yul 'listened') to consider one another friendly enough. When he was single, she definitely tried on the shoe, though it didn't seem to fit. Pitty. He's still pretty to look at from a distance, no?

Lady Suji / House of Lee / Very Friendly / 75%
— These two seem to go together like water and oil, their personalities contrasting so much. But in truth, when Suji was courted by Yul, Iseul was her biggest counsel. As the pair got closer, Iseul found she liked the company of their quieter girl. She seems to have some sort of lasting effect on her that keeps Iseul from talking everyone else's ear off - which they are all thankful for.

Lord Taejun / House of Ahn / Father / 70%
— Though Iseul loves her father dearly, and she will tell any as such, they don't always see eye to eye, especially when it comes to her sociality and her duties as a woman and a duchess. This has caused a bit of strain on the family over the last few years and a bit of a rift has grown between them.

Lady Dasom "May She Rest in Peace" / House of Ahn / Mother / 20%
— Her mother passed away when she was still younger - only 8 years old. It was said to be quite the tragedy, even though her father remarried only three short years later. "For the good of the Dukedom." Her mother passed away in the child birth of her sister. Though she was very young, she still has fond memories of her mother (a daughter of a Baron) singing peasant lullabies to her.

Lady Jisoo / House of Ahn / Step Mother / 50%
— It's hard not to see a woman who raised you for ten years of your life as a mother, so Iseul thinks fondly of her stepmother. However, they both have very loud personalities and tend to clash quite often, much to the chagrin of those around when the events happen. Still, their relationship is always a push-pull situation, and each day brings a new wave of happiness and despair for the family.

Lady Miju / House of Ahn / Little Sister / 90%
— Miju is quite a bit younger than Iseul - just entering her first social this year. They are blood sisters and it shows by how alike they look. However, their demeanor are quite different. Where Iseul is charming, outgoing and bold, Miju is kind, thoughtful and approachable..

BACKGROUND

Birth
Juwon was born on a cold winter's day, a fresh coating of powdered snow bringing in the darkness of evening. His birth was celebrated through out the kingdom. The first born was a prince! A collective sigh of relief for the monarchy was breathed from all. He was named Juwon  - meaning a thorough leader - in the hopes of his future one day being a leader worthy of it. His life was a celebration, and all the mothers in the kingdom started their plotting for how to steal this prince's heart one day with their daughters.

Childhood
Juwon was surrounded by help from the moment he was born. He never had a wish or a want for anything. Even his help had help. He had tutors and teachers and lessons and everything that could help him grow into a good leader, create a respectible legacy for the monachy, and sustain a long lasting line. He attended his lessons faithfully. And for much of his childhood, he was praised as a dutiful and respectful child. A proud prince of the Kingdom.

Teenage years
Unfortunately, Juwon's attitude towards lessons weakened the older he got, and he found interest in things that laid outside the castle walls. He found he was a relatively good looking fellow, even without people knowing who he was. There was always women waiting to meet him, whispering hushedly and giggling any time he rode through a courtyard. Soon everyone in the kingdom knew how grown and handsome the prince had become, and he let that knowledge buffer his already exalted ego.

Adult life
When he came of age, Juwon's father deemed the best right of passage was not to attend the socials that year, but to become a squire. He spent a year learning battle strategy, planning and conquest. The man that returned as Knight was sharper and keener than before, but still every bit the heart throb he'd become as a teenager. His first social was a busy one, spent whining and dining every eligible lady he could. Every social after that was the same, but every year the ladies in waiting were different, and soon the whispers began to surface about his illicit activities behind closed doors. Deflowering Ladies in the name of conquest.

Current
Time has unfortinately come that his father's illness has progressed to the state of no return. Of course, that means this social will be different than all the ones before it. He can no longer dilly dally. His mother, the Queen, fully expects him to chose a wife at the end of the season - something he's not very keen on. But of course, there's always room for a mistress or two once he's King.

More in depth soon.

BACKGROUND

Birth
Born to the dukedom of Busan, Jongmin was born into the life of the navy. His coastal dukedom thrived on the water and particularly the art of naval navigation. He himself was actually born on The Kwanggaeto, his father's ship, just off the coast of Busan in the East Sea. He was born during the midday lull, when the swells were low and the weather warm. As the first born child of the dukedom, he was celebrated. He'd be a fine naval commander one day.

Childhood
Jongmin's entire childhood was spent by the water and on the water. He had his sea legs before he learned to walk on his real legs. Busan wasn't known for their commerce, but their navy, and Jongmin learned early what his part in this life would be. He started working on ships at the age of four, swabbing the deck and learning naval knots. As for actual learning, he did not start schooling until he was ten. Jongmin was smart, but it didn't translate to his schooling well. He didn't like staying inside, being cooped up. He yearned to be back on the water.

Teenage years
By the time Jongmin was fourteen, he had finally returned to the water - this time through his schooling. He excelled in this like naval stategy and ship mechanics, and by the time he was seventeen, he ran his own ship along side his father's. He named his Jinju, The Pearl, citing it after his mother. He was a stable and practical teenager, never really involved with the wenches that came with his naval lifestyle. Instead he focused on being the best commander and captain, and that garnered him a lot of respect with the people as the next duke of Busan.

Adult life
At the age of eighteen, when he should have started social calls, Jongmin decided to become a knight instead, following in the footsteps of his father before him. Being that he was exceptionally skilled on the water, he spent several years at sea, defending the kindgom and his own dukedom. But tragedy struck while he was away. A sailing accident proved to be the death of not only his mother, but also his father, and upon returning to Busan, he found himself suddenly the Duke at the age of twenty three. As the only child of the dukedom of Busan, it was his job to now lead the dukedom to prosperity. Unfortunately, that also meant joining the social circles to find himself a wife. He entered at the age of twenty four, and immedaitely took a liking to one girl in particular, the daughter of the Duke of Daejeon, Iseul. Unfortunately, it didn't seem he was the only one, and he'd have to win her affections. So he spent the season, trying, and for once failing, to acquire that which he wanted most.

Current
Jongmin has spent the fall, winter and spring preparing for this season's social calls. He knows what he wants, and he's going to get her. After all, the Dukedom of Busan needs a new Duchess, and he will settle for nothing but the best. What he doesn't know is that he's in for a bit of ride.

BACKGROUND

Birth
Garam was born in the Dukedom of Chungcheongnam-do, to the largest city, Sejong, and the Marquess. He was born in the heart of Sejong, the second child of the Marquess of Sejong, and the second born son. He was born on a warm fall day, the leaves still only begining to change their color in the city. His parents were proud to have another son, even if he would never hold the title of Marquess of Sejong, unless his brother married up or fell on an illbegotten path of life.

Childhood
Because he was not the inheriting child of the Marquess, Garam lived a relatively quiet childhood. He was allowed to do as he pleased and had much freedom in comparision to most children born to nobles of the kingdom. He was afforded schooling at the age of seven, but it was never seen as a bad thing when he didn't excel at any particular subjects. He loved reading and spent a majority of his time on the banks of the Geum River, book in hand.

Teenage years
As a teenager his schooling became a bit more important, more as a back up for any what if situations that might befall his brother. When Garam was sixteen, his brother debuted in  the social circles and was an instant hit. He was married by the time Garam turned eighteen, ensuring the Marquess line of Sejong would continue through his older brother, and Garam knew exactly what that meant.

Adult life
Garam was nearly nineteen before he got to experience his first social calls. He was well liked, and enjoyed the freedoms of not having to worry about who he spoke to, chose to spend his times with. He found he was increasingly charming, and with a bit of grandeur and well dressing, he could easily pull in the more noble ladies who would hold titles themselves if they did not marry someone with a title. That became his goal - find the right heiress and marry up. There were plenty to chose from, but he set his eyes on one in particular. Though Sejong was part of the Cheongcheongnam-do dukedom, the daughter of the duke of Daejeon was beautiful, smart, and would make a wonderful duchess. He saw his opportunity and did his best to woo her, but despite enjoying his company, seemed to have no interest in finding a husband yet. He has courted her two seasons now and nothing has changed. They spend time together, laugh, cry, and fight sometimes, but he's no closer to having her than his competitor, Jongmin. But he's going to win, he just knows it.

Current
Garam has spent the last two seasons learning everything there is to know about Iseul and figuring ouot how to make himself into the perfect canidate for her husband to be now that it seems she's finally looking for herself a husband. He already knows he has to battle it out with Jongmin, but he has no inkling to the addition of another potential suitor, especially not the crown prince, himself.
