Cpop

I know, I know...it's inevitable that AFF is more kpop-dominant than anything else. It's just the reality and the trend. However, I just couldn't help but wish the cpop (& heck, even jpop) community is bigger here. At least, I can then have an easier time to find stories starring my favourite c-entertainment celebrities to read instead of writing about them by myself. The writing process is extremely lonely too because the fandom is so small. T_____T At this point, I feel that by the time I finished writing, I can probably just delete the story from the site and no one but me would notice. Then, I can just take that story and edited with other names and go publish it as a real book instead.

I actually have been googling which platform would have a more active cpop community, but so far, I haven't found anything as reputable as AFF. Then, there's wattpad...even though stories have cpop as a tag, it is literally kpop under a cpop tag because most of the idols in the stories are kpop related. T____T

Thanks for reading my rant and I really hope it won't dampen anyone's day. I just need to get it out of my chest so that I can continue writing.

ahhhh hihi you commented on my blog so ofc i'm commenting on yours HAHAHA

i am chinese and somewhat invested in chinese media as well (not necessarily cpop tho) and i think that a large part of the problem is that a lot of ppl aren't invested in the chinese music scene as much as other aspects of c-media, like cdramas...

that being said, though i have never visited this site myself, i know that lofter is a really good site that chinese ppl usually post fics to (although it IS a chinese site :( so i'm not sure if there will be english stories there). but! i also second ao3 and though i'm not sure if there are cpop writers on there, i know that for more well-known media (like heaven official's blessing and mdzs) there are definitely ppl who write in english for those fandoms

a tip for ao3 as well (if you didn't already know beforehand) is that it's much easier to search for a specific fandom on ao3 rather than a tag; i'm not sure i know anyone who tags their kpop stories with 'kpop' but it's required for a work to have a fandom (which for kpop is usually a group; i rarely see ppl put 'kpop' as the fandom). you can also search by character, which will often be easier if the fandom name has multiple translations (as chinese media tends to lol). apologies if you already knew this!

Your rant didn't dampen my day, it's nice you're bringing this up it's true. I had an earlier situation similar to this, but it was for jpop. It would be nice. I sometimes try AO3, but I still feel like kpop dominates it over there. If you were to post your story I would love to check it out - all up to you though ^^ have a good day!! :)
