          he doesn't care much about the opinions of those outside of those he cares for. he is independent, confident, and very sure of himself in most situations. why should he let the negative views of others get him down? it hurts his feeling most of the time, but he learned long ago to smile and keep going instead of feeding into the hater's desires. when not being overly flirty or on stage, aibek is just a big ol' goof. he is a bit foolish, naive, and tactless. he doesn't always read the moods of others well.

honest & forgetful.

          aibek doesn't say anything that he doesn't mean. he has dealt with liars, cheaters, and the very hateful while competeing as a gymnist. he has no time nor desire to feed into it and has instead swore to be as honest as he can be. he speaks his mind truthfully or not at all. he is very forgetful though and can be bad at taking things seriously. he is the type to forget promises or engagement he has that are a day or two after he scheduled them.

level-headed & blunt.

          not much rattles aibek. he is always cool, calm, and collected. he will smile through pain and anger. he will laugh through fear and refuses to cry in front of others. it takes a lot to get a visible negative response from aibek, instead gettng a sharp smile and biting words. he is honest to a fault, lacking tact and coming off as rude. his filter is nearly nonexistant, leaving him to seem harsh or uncaring of other's feelings when he truly does care.

[ moonie ] - aibek is related to the moon, and both him and his mother being fans of harry potter earned him the affectionate nickname moonie.
[ ai ] - when classmates from korea learned of his birthname, they called him ai. it was familiar and easy for them to pronounce. add that he was lovely and cute, and they enjoyed called him ai.

[ APPEARANCE ]  aibek has thick thighs and strong shoulders due to his workout choices and gymnist past. he is darker than most around him, not giving into the pressure of having milky skin. (his complexion is similar to kai or bm) he has industrialt piercings as well as lobes piercings in both ears.

[ FASHION ] aibek likes to be fashionable. he will wear the crop tops, the skinny jeans, and the odd paterns. but he isn't a fan of the oddly baggy items or jeans. he has a nice body and likes items that flaunt this fact a little bit. [ elaboration ] aibek is the only child of zhuldyz and seunghyun, a couple who met while studying in kazakhstan together. his parents met in the library in a rather drama or romance like manner, bumping into each other while trying to get the same book for a class. the rest is a romance that spread over two years before marriage happened.

aibek grew up with rather high expectations placed on his shoulders. he was the first and only son. his father was a known surgeon while his mother was a sought after sectritary. they were beautiful and intelligent, both things aibek should be as well. 

his mother decided when he was two to enroll aibek into an introductory gymnastics class. it was one of her best choices because aibek loved it, even as he got older and it got more complicated. he liked the attention, the praise, and the recognition he recieved for his abilities. his father had even smiled in pride at him once when hearing the praise aibek recieved. coaches had even talked of the olympics at one point, hoping to train the prodigy of the time.

when aibek was seven, his father took a job in his home country and urged his family to move. aibek, familiar with korean due to speaking to his father and his father's family, didn't mind the move as much as he minded having to find a new coach for his gymnastics. he missed his favorite foods and friends. he missed seeing his mother comfortable and happy, but as most young children do, he adapted given time.

he began focusing on floor routines as he got older and more serious in his practice. his mother radiated pride, but always told aibek, now sujin while in korea, that he could quit if he got tired of it. instead he picked up dance lessons on the side to work on his footwork and build a more solid routine for competitions. his father was proud and often spoke of aibek's wins and efforts to be the next olympic gymnist. 

when aibek was sixteen, he watched a friend of his shatter their wrist from a bad landing. later that year a friend broke ribs on the bars. knees went bad and people drifted away from the sport that seemed to only get more and more hard or competetive. it became less fun for aibek, and more scary. he didn't enjoy his routines and practices as much as he used to anymore, but he did enjoy dancing and how he could move his body to convey exactly what he felt without words. the gold medals just didn't mean as much to him as the music seemed to, not after nearly fourteen years.

he didn't quit until he was eighteen and had a scare of his own. he had been working hard and eating less to try and keep himself in top shape. it became more of a struggle as he grew taller and filled out, his weight shifting and his build awkward. as he was in the middle of a flip, aibek became dizzy and weak. he nearly landed on his neck, but his spotter was able to save him last minute. he came out with a sprain and a desire to no longer partake in the art of gymnastics. dance was his only escape.

fearing disappointing his family, aibek began to try out for companies. he knew he was pretty and that he could dance. he knew that if he worked hard, he could be taken in by a company and use all the time he had put into gymnastics and dance. he knew that if he did something and succeeded, his family wouldn't be too upset with him.

at twenty, aibek was finally able to make it into a company. he had applied over and over, showcasing any and all skills he could think of until finally yg accepted him. yang hyunsuk had said that his passion was annoying but worthwhile. aibek was just relieved he could try and move forward into the spotlight and make his family proud.
