  🐱‍🐉 english. learnt it in school, though hyojeong isn't all that great at it but she's able to survive if placed in a social setting that required her to speak english with her intermediate conversational skills.

APPEARANCE. hyojeong looks like a tiny little goth that stepped outta tiktok with her chest length black hair, bleached imperfectly with a handful of white strands. she has an assortment of piercings littering all over her body; from both her ears, her left eyebrow, septum and tongue all the way to her navel. has a matching flower tattoo on her left hand with her best friend hyojong, who has it on the right.

STYLE. a lot of black, chains, oversized t-shirts, mini skirts with fishnets and ripped jeans. it's really anything you can see on a skate rat. *scroll images below for visual representation.

hwang hyojeong's your typical scorpio: she is loyal, opinionated and painfully honest friend that gives it to you straight, even if the situation isn't the most tender for her to drop the bomb. she's more of a logic over feelings type of person, thus it's hard for her to be able to empathize with people when they're sharing about their problems (that is also another reason why people hardly come to her for advices of sorts because she is of no emotional assistance when that is what they needed).

she's very self-assured and doesn't take from other people, herself included, even without being seemingly and intentionally confrontational. she knows what she wants, and she won't stop until she gets it.

some call it pride, hyojeong just calls it satisfaction from doing something 100% on your own without help from other people. she is wildly independent and absolutely hates to be indebted a favor of some sort to other people. in the event that she's bit more than she can handle, she'd still find a way to settle it herself without the help of others. the satisfaction that comes after her struggle always sets her on an euphoric high, and hyojeong is just that big an adrenaline junkie.

as per all scorpios, hyojeong is a pretty avid wielder of sarcasm, be it among her friends or people she dislikes. most people interpret it as a joke, but when she gets mad and starts spewing sarcasm to the point where it gets hurtful, that's when you know she's pissed off and has stop attempting to care for other people's discomfort around her.

she's caught in between a rock and a hard place: she's really observant, but only in her assignments / work and can pay attention to the smallest details. but when it comes to hyojeong as a whole? she's really just a complete personification of "no thoughts, head empty". but most of the time, she's pretty much oblivious to her surroundings, and wouldn't stop giving her opinions, even if someone's uncomfortable. even being told to stop, she questions incomprehensible things like okay, why are you offended by what i said when it was the truth?

BACKGROUND.

hwang hyojeong was born in donggu, ulsan, south korea to korean barbecue restaurant owners. not much was to be noted about hyojeong's background. her family wasn't extremely affluent, but they had enough to get through each day without worrying about food on the table for tomorrow.

born the youngest child, hyojeong maintained a borderline amicable/semi-strained relationship with both her parents and her older brother. she was often held in comparison to her near perfect and pristine older brother, hyojin. and for most of her adolescence, she was always in the shadows of hyojin— be it at home or in school, she was always known for being hyojin's sister and never for herself. that is, until, she graduated high school and started distinguishing herself by branding herself the black sheep. everything her parents would hate, she would model herself after it as an act of rebellion.

upon graduation and giving herself a 180 makeover, she enrolled herself in the university of ulsan, majoring in architectural engineering. she wanted to study humanities (specifically, chinese studies) to piss off her parents but decided it was not worth jeopardizing her future for something as childish as this. plus she had no interest in being a translator or teacher, it's always been an architect.

COLLEGE LIFE. she lives about ten minutes away from campus with her best friend hyojong, and on days where hyojeong has class, she usually wakes up between fourty-five to sixty minutes before her lessons start. she's not the most studious person per se, but she does enough to keep herself afloat and within the average median of her course. definitely not a breakfast type of girl; she just grabs a granola bar and cold brew from the campus starbucks. in between classes, she's always seen hanging out with hyojong.

hyojeong's not the biggest fan of big parties, but she wouldn't turn down an invitation by either the host or her friends. instead, she doesn't mind a cosy gathering of people she likes and is accquainted with, as opposed to inviting the whole of uou to her itty bitty shared apartment.
