So I'm thinking of a possible roleplay, Mermaid based. It would be a City Au Theme, but based in Atlantis. The Atlantis is based on the one seen in Aquaman, and to spice things up, I'm thinking about giving everyone a secondary gender- Alpha, Beta, Omega. So the Yuri relationships or the relationships will be able to birth children and have their own families, just like Straight relationships.

So:

  • Merfolk that have their Mer form and their Human form
  • Secondary genders for family equality
  • Free City Au- make your own path / story
  • Mermaid specific 'religion' for those interested (not heavily involved- minor detail)
  • Internationals allowed- we don't deny anyone

But, what about:

  • Would you want the Secondary Genders (ABO?)
  • Daily prompts OR a note of prompts in case anyone is lacking inspiration?
  • Should we add humans or keep it strictly Merfolk?
  • Is there anything specific you would like to see in a roleplay like this?
  • Would you like abilities or powers? Wouldn't let anyone have more than two.
  • Literate, Semi-lit, or P.O.V free? (meaning you can chose to write how you want)

i'm not too familiar with aquaman's depiction of atlantis but i love fantasy-themed aus so i think this is an interesting concept still!

i don't have any strong feelings about abo but i'll lean towards excluding it since i fear that it might carry a heavy connotation beyond the simple inclusive aspect it's meant to achieve. i like the idea of prompts although having them daily could pose too heavy of a workload and possibly diminish the novelty of having prompts at all? a less frequent schedule could make it something to look forward to instead, i think. adding humans doesn't sound like a bad idea, and you could evolve the concept by either introducing the nature of hybrids or draw a very distinct line between the two species to make the setting more appealing! i'm always a er for special abilities and powers so i'm all for that! i think the literacy level could depend on the atmosphere/mood you're setting up for the roleplay? a semi-lit would be great if it's an environment where different personalities can prosper, where it's all-inclusive to foster relationships and enable character growth easily. strict literacy would be better suited for a plot-driven setting, where every character's action has a great impact on whatever conflict plagues their world.

that's my two cents, i hope the roleplay does well if you do end up going forward with this project!
