Advice for KwonBoah

Disclaimer : I may be a little bit blunt but I tend to be like that when giving advice. Also, I have an applyfic account and I’ve seen you around there so I know about some of your behaviours, and I may say some things you may not want to hear or bring up things you don’t want to be reminded of.

Apps
- try to change the colours in the app and have a nice colour scheme. That’s what will want to make the author look at your app right off the bat.
- If you’re copy- pasting from one app to another, check and re-check to see if you got the character names, group names and everything else right.
- Describe your characters and their love interests as if you’re describing a real person, not like a character or as if you’re fangirling them.
- Give your characters flaws that they have to overcome. Like flaws in their personality. Many authors have said and I agree that your characters are Mary Sues. This links to my previous point.
- Read the foreword, plotlines and cheatsheet properly and get everything into your head before you come up with a character. Make sure your character and everything they do and have done makes sense for the story and plotline you’re applying for.
- Read the authors’ character(s) apps and include their characters in your apps. At the very least try to add them in your relationship section and think about how your character(s) will get along with the author’s character(s). Speaking of relationship sections, add pictures for their relations.

Stories
- Come up with unique ideas. Someone has pointed out before and I agree that all your stories are all the same, just with different group names and companies. Also, they’re basically just rewriting groups that exist in real life based on one comeback, which is a bit lame and nothing that can keep readers interested in the long run.
- Stick to one or a few stories and be consistent with them. Don’t keep making new stories when you haven’t even started the ones you already have. It makes you seem very fickle and like you’re not serious about writing a story. (This is a mistake I made in the past and why I eventually decided to stop writing applyfics for now)

Other tips that can help you for both
- Learn to acknowledge your wrongs, apologise when you ed up and change your behaviour. Unfortunately, I’ve heard about the drama you got into from my other account, and I won’t deny I still have a rather negative impression of you because of it. I can see on this account that you are trying to change for the better. Unfortunately, some people don’t forgive and forget, and it’s not up to you to change that. So just leave them be and move on with your life.
- Don’t be invasive. If another user chooses to reject your friend requests, don’t keep sending them friend requests. Don’t spam other users with messages if they aren’t comfortable talking to you. Learn to respect others’ boundaries.
- When an author announces who gets chosen for a story, congratulate whoever got chosen even if your character wasn’t one of them. Learn to be a good sport and be supportive towards others. I’ve never seen you congratulating chosen applicants on other stories before and it makes you seem really selfish and entitled.

Hope this helped.
