Questions For Writers (Part 2?)

I'm pretty sure I did something like this before hence the title hahaha but the questions are def not the same. I originally found this on twitter but I'm doing it here because why the not HAHAHAHA you can do it as well if you’re interested! :)))

1. How long have you been into writing?

A decade? I started writing at a young age hihihi

2. The first pairing you wrote for

OH GOSH lol Would you believe me if I say, Hyuna and Hyunseung? I was obsessed with Troublemaker so yeah ._.

3. Average length of your fics

I’m not huge fan of writing lengthy fics. I usually write threeshot/oneshots or like “short stories” hahaha

4. Favorite content to write

I wouldn’t say it’s a fave but romance is what I mostly write about so??? Lol

5. Favorite genre to write

HMMMM. I don’t think I have a fave xD I think it just depends on my mood but I always tend to gravitated towards writing either , fluff or angst lol

6. What do you listen to while writing?

Oh, interesting. I usually have like a “playlist” for my stories. It consists of songs that inspired me to write it or just give off the general mood of my stories so I usually listen to that when I write.

7. Writing inspirations

A LOT actually. Like mentioned above, I get inspired by songs! Also real life experiences (both mine and my friends’), quotes I read or see online, lines I hear from movies, movies themselves, books, people. Really almost anything.

8. What story of yours defines you?

WOAH OKAY UHM HAHAHAHA Hmm… I don’t think only one of my stories can define me? Because I put a little bit of myself in all of them :D

9. Have any writing advice?

Oh god, I’m bad at this… like in what context are we talking about??? I’ll just write random ones lol.

► If you’re starting to write/wanting to give it a shot then make like Nike and JUST DO IT HAHAHA push your doubts aside if this is really want you want to try and do.

► Mentally and emotionally prepare yourself if you’re going to put your work out there. Remember, we can’t please everyone and there’s bound to be negative comments thrown at you.

► Be hungry to learn more, grow more and improve more! You won’t become a good writer if you stay stagnant. Continue to better yourself, your skills and your stories!

► READ. I personally think that this can improve your writing without you even knowing. Your vocabulary would expand, you’ll find techniques, styles, formats etc. that you’ll want to try and apply to your own stories and you may even get inspired!

► Find writer friends? LOL I just think it’s good to surround yourself with people who support you, people who completely understand what it’s like and people who you can share your struggles with. You can also very much learn from them too.

► Research, especially if you have little to no knowledge at all about what you’re meaning to write. Your stories can be a source of information to your readers and you don’t want to give them wrong/inaccurate information, right? (I may be guilty of this though huhuhu that’s why I’m telling you now so you can avoid making the same mistake D:)

► Take a break! Writing can really be draining sometimes (if not all the time lol). It’s important to rest and chill for a while or you won’t be able to put out anything good or substantial.

► When you get writer’s block, don’t stress too much about it. It’s frustrating, sometimes you think you’re done for and you wanna just give up writing all together but you most definitely can get over it! Just take some time off, no matter how long that may be.

► Never forget to use trigger warnings! This is VERY important. You don’t want to make your readers uncomfortable in any way or unintentionally screw with their mental health. If you think the whole story doesn’t need it, at least write a small note above the actual chapters that do need it!

► Don’t be shy to ask for feedback but don’t DEMAND it either. We can never force people to do something they don’t want to do plus this might ruin their experience of you story.

► Interact with your readers. Make them feel appreciated and thank them for taking time to read your work. You might find new friends and they might give you feedback or ideas that you might be needing.

So… yeah hahaha I think that’s all I got >  < I am, by no means, an expert or a professional when it comes to writing. I’m still lacking and have those down days but these are what worked for me so far. I hope that this would help! hihihi

10. What programs do you use for writing?

I really just use Word Docs ._. hahaha

11. Tell us about a story you want to write

Well there’s this Seventeen fic that I’m working on that’s kind of? Fantasyish? Since it features a fictional disease? Idk I think it has so much potential. Like I would really personally read this if I weren’t the author but I’m having a hard time actually starting LOL

It just seems so complicated and I’m intimidated by it. Though I have everything drafted out already so all I really need to do is write details sdkjflkjfl but… I can’t for some reason? I keep putting it off D: For now I’ll just let it sit and marinate… LOL, kidding. I’ll come back to it when I’m ready HAHAHA

12. What’s the easiest part of writing to you?

Starting it LOL contrary to what I was in the previous Q, I KNOW HAHAHAH But what I mean is like, getting a plot idea then drafting it out! It’s so easy to do that because it’s kind of like a spur of the moment thing. It just piles up before I even know it but then when it comes to execution… xD

13. What’s the hardest part of writing to you?

Finishing HAHAHAHAHA because there will come a point where you have no idea where you’re going with the story anymore or you’re losing motivation for it. You begin wondering if you’ll actually finish it or if you'll unfortunately leave your readers hanging. This doubt and uncertainty can really get to you sometimes ://

14. Favorite character to write

The oc or main character’s friends! HAHAHAHA idk I just find them funny xD

15. Favorite fandom to write for

Exol and Caraaaats <333

16. Fandom you what to write for but haven’t yet

Nctzen! I was supposed to and had plans to but idk I unfortunately don’t stan NCT hard enough to write about them ://

17. Writing pet peeves

Really just dumb grammatical errors, wrong wording or weird/awkward sentence constructions hahaha technical stuff, I guess

18. Writing habits

I don’t usually go out so I tend to use the same settings a lot? HAHAHAHA like my characters are always going to the beach for example lol

19. What do you do to get rid of writer’s block?

Stop writing for a while hahaha or sometimes write something else entirely. Sometimes I busy myself other hobbies or read :D

20. Compliment your own writing!

LOL I always on my writing so this is HARD but uhm… I think my writing is… for the lack of better word, an “easy” read? Nothing too complex, no big words that you need to use a dictionary for so I guess that’s enough of a reason to like it?? HAHAHAHA I tried lol
