Wanted to try, milk tea

Hello there!!

I just want to share.

I got curious what the fuss about boba/pearl (tapioca) milk tea, why there are a lot of people lining up to get it.

I drink hot tea once in a while, but I am not really into cold tea of any variety especially milk tea. I always see people walking  with it or enjoying it often enough in the past years, and I just think that it's their choice of drink like there are those others who prefer coffee, and not really pay much attention.

Starting last year and especially this year there are more milk tea shops that opened, and I see people lining up to try it.

I asked as a thought, "why?!" It's just tea. Even I can make pearl milk tea. Why is there a craze for it.

The tapioca needs to be cooked in a certain way without any white in the middle, even not over done,  but it's not that hard.

I got curious, so  I started a month ago I tried and sampled from different shops whenever I'd pass a tea shop. I picked the best sellers.

Verdict, in some milk tea it's more milky than tea and with some there is the taste of a bit of tea, and mostly they got the tapioca just right, except for 2 shops it was not well cooked.

I wanted to try and make my own, so I cooked some small tapioca and added brown sugar, and made it with black tea,  2 kinds of milk and ice. And variations, I made pearl milk tea choco,  pearl milk coffee tea, 3 kinds of pearl milk coffee, 2 kinds of pearl milk coffee choco, and 3 kinds of pearl milk choco.

Verdict, the once I made tasted better lol and I just used ordinary items and not even expensive items.
