The Future of Experiment 11

Hi everyone, I don’t know how many of you are actually going to read this, but I figure that this is better than just leaving you all hanging.

I know that I’m not exactly consistent about updating, and I really am sorry for keeping you waiting.  At first, I could use the excuse of being too busy with school or being too busy with work.  But recently, I’ve kind of had to confront the simple fact that it’s getting harder and harder for me to write Experiment 11. I’ve started falling out of love with K-Pop as an institution. The recent events with SeungRi did not make it any easier and my disgust with him is really tainting the fact that he is a sympathetic character in my story.

So, in short, the fate of Experiment 11 is up to you readers.  I guess there’s three general paths.  1) I continue  how I’ve been operating so far. The story has been my baby and of course I do want to finish it, but you all will have to be more patient and risk the possibility of my never finishing it.  2) I provide you all with an outline of how I wanted to finish the story. I have the entire thing outlined out and I can provide the it as a last chapter. 3)  I can hand off the outline to another person who may be willing to finish the story.  Of course, I would make sure that the writing style is similar in that we have the same idea going forward with the plot and characters.  If this is something that any of you may be interested in, feel free to reach out to me .

I don’t know how to insert a poll to a blog post, so if you all do want to chime in please just leave a comment below and I will  take your choices into account .

 Thank you.

Option 3. that is if you are perfectly comfortable with someon else finishing the journey with you baby. Although I'd prefer it if you just left things as they are as it will not be disrespectful or hurtful to me. It would simply mean that this lovely author is a human being with feelings and mind that thinks to choose what makes her most comfortable.

I'm sorry you have to go through this. At the end of the day, do what you want and makes you at peace as it is what matters.

Option 2. In fact, if you’d like you can elaborate on the outline if you have any moments written in your head that you’d like to get down — just jot them as little bits and pieces wherever it fits in the plot line (for example, if you had an idea for a really fluffy moment between Jordan and Chen, but had no idea about leadup or what happens after, write it down where it fits in the outline and don’t worry about writing any of the leadup or after stuff because we don’t expect full chapters if it’s too much strain on your creativity.) Hope everything else is going well <3 I’m grateful you were willing to put it to us to help you decide

Can we pick two answers???? Like, I would love to see the outline so that I at least know where the story was going, but if you ever feel like it or maybe find more inspiration for it one day, you can maybe keep writing some chapters? That’s not to say I want you to go against yourself and force yourself to write. Just if there is ever a possibility that you will, I’d be happy to continue reading, but the outline will be closure enough.

So I guess what I’m trying to say is, 1 & 2. Lol

I'm late but I think I prefer option 2. I've read a few of the comments below and one struck out to me. I agree with the person's comment about how you might possibly write out the chapters later on if you have the inspiration to do so after receiving reader's responses to option 2 outline. It's tricky since now we might know how it goes, but a story like this is fantastic. As a reader, I would have picked option 1, but your well-being is more important than the story. After all, you are the one who created this lovely story. the choice is up to you to make in the end and I believe having another person write it may be a good idea too. But, it doesn't beat the way you planned to write out this story, since it's in your vision and mind of how exactly and where this story would go. I think I'm speaking too much here now, but yes, option 2! Lol~

I will admit that I prefer option 2, which would take the pressure off of you but still allow the opportunity for you to fully write it out at a later date when you feel more inspired if you chose to. After readers get a chance to see your direction and can give feedback, it may even help you to finish or change your initial plot to a more exciting ending for youself. Just my opinion. Anyway, I love what you have done so far and will gladly wait for any outcome you go with.

Everyone is suggesting option 1 and 3 but I’m gonna go ahead and go with option 2.
Its not that I’m impatient but I Love this story all and i feel like it has all lot of potential and I don’t want you to push yourself. That can be really stressful, which will reflect on the story.
I know you’re leaving this in our hands BUT do you want to finish this story? Do you have the motivation? Do you see yourself in the future taking time to finish this story? Cause at the end of the day I want you to finish this because you want and not because your readers demand that of you!
You don’t owe us anything, you’re already providing us with free content!
I don’t trust any other author to finish this story. I don’t know how to explain this but your mind is great and yes this next author might have the outline but they won’t have that mind. I feel you’re the one who truly knows these characters and this world that they live and I'm not sure if another author will be able to vision that, even with the outline.
So in conclusion I would rather see the outline of how this story would’ve ended and be at peace.
But of course at the end of the day it’s your decision and i want you to be confident of the choice you’ve made!

I completely understand how you feel. I know a lot of people are saying option 1 but I also know that wanting to write and finish something isn't always enough. And then eventually it fades from memory and you don't care anymore. So if you feel up to it, option 1 is always good, cause you get to finish the story the way you envisioned it. But, you probably wouldn't be asking if you thought you could do that. So I think, so long as you can find an author you trust to write the story coherently and consitantly with the standard you've set, you should probably go with option 3. That way, you still get to see it finished, the readers get a resolution to the story and you aren't faced with the lack of motivation. If all of that is too hard or time consuming or draining then I'd say go with option 2. It'll be the least fullfilling for you but if you just need to get it over with, that's the quickest and easiest way.
So yeah my personal preference/recommendation is;
1
3
2

But, whatever you decide in the end is all good so long as you are happy with it.

Of course, i would prefer it if i could read this story to the end with how you envisioned it and with your words (so option 1). Because that's what made me fall in love with this story after all. :)

But I guess the reason why you're thinking about other options in the first place is because option 1 became something you're no longer comfortable with. This is just my guess though from my own experience, so maybe I'm wrong :))
I have two stories on my own which have been on hiatus since forever. But I'm not yet at the point where I'd consider other options other than finish it myself. Although i sometimes think it would be better if i did. If i admitted to myself that it's okay to not finish it and leave it at that and move on. But that will be my stuff to deal with 😅
Anyway, what i wanted to say was that if you feel like you won't finish, or no longer want to finish the story, i guess i would still like to know how you wanted it to end. (I like to get closure for the things I read or watch :))) Whether that is by giving it to someone else or posting your outline online, i don't mind either. I'd say it depends on whether YOU want to give your story to someone else or not. Because it is YOUR intellectual property after all. And you don't owe anyone of us anything! :) i know it doesn't feel that way, i always feel like i don't want to let down my readers either, but it's the truth! :)) (authors provide the stories for free after all and the nice people would understand that you made the decision that is best for you :))
Well, that is my opinion at least :)) i wish you all the best with whatever you decide!! ^^
