Has a height of 163 cm and 50 kg, she does not like to conform to the beauty standards of south korea, she likes herself being healthy rather than starve herself to lose weight. At the first glance, others may take a second look at her again, awed by her beauty, some with sharp eyes may notice her uncanny resemblance with the famous idol turned actress who is loved by all, Bae Suzy, and that's it, nothing more. Sure she had a lustrous long black hair, a complete set of pearly white teeth hidden behind her peach tinted lips, and her pair of orbs that could pull off a sweet eyesmile that can capture the hearts of national producers.

And too bad, she barely smiled. Hyesu always spoiled her beautiful appearance with her blank expression and dull eyes. It is even rare for her to pull up the corner of her lips into a twitch. She might be beautiful but after staring or looking at that unsmiling face can be too boring, and that makes her fade into the background. Sometimes, being pretty is not enough unless you are so beautiful that it could bring devastation to the whole country, but Hyesu's appearance is not on that level so unfortunately she had to make an effort if she wanted to stand out.

♢ Comfort, she always prioritise comfort. Just simple jeans and a shirt, it's already fine for her everyday life. She don't detest bright colored clothes but she felt like that it does not suit her and she prefered clothes that are chic in neutral tones of black and white, which sadly don't suit her youthful and sweet appearance. Like she was a young child forced to grow up, wearing a mature clothing, so instead of improving her overall appearance, it was overshadowed by the plain and serious outfit of hers. White Tees, black shirts, gray pants or any clothing that is in neutral color, it doesn't suit her at all! If Hyesu continued to be like this then its going to be hopeless.

Among the eight items, the one-year old Shin Hyesu adamantly picked only the microphone and nothing else. 

Ever since, Hyesu's parents knew that she is going to be a performer one day. Her parents were very supportive with Hyesu's interest, they gave everything she likes and wants, fortunately, she grew up spoiled sweet and not a brat, well maybe a little? but still a sweetheart. Hyesu grew up along with music, she was especially fond of musical instruments, she learned the piano first as a young child, then guitar when she was a teenager, and finally drums. Hyesu likes singing and dancing but her passion for creating music with her own hands was just very satisfying for her. When it comes to her passion, she's very diligent and fired up, she took music and composition lessons to learn more and broaden her horizons. From awkward poems, it turned into decent lyric verses and Hyesu proudly admitted to herself that it wasn't in vain, because she discovered her potential in rapping. Her talent in music makes her popular in her school, somehow a girl crush they called. Who would not fall in love with a girl who was serenading you with a guitar.

In 2013, Hyesu joined a contest, she performed a cover of rock music, even though she did not win, a company representative was impressed of her playing electric guitar and her rapping, it was FNC. Hyesu gladly joined the company with her parents'  support. As a young 15 year old, she's very passionate and dedicated in her practice despite the difficult training, she only had one dream she wanted to achieve and that is wanting people to hear her music, to reach that goal was to grit her teeth and suffer as a trainee. 

Shin Hyesu's first two years was very surprising for her, she was hit by the realization that she had to learn a lot of other skills in order to become an idol and she learned it in a hard way. Her dancing and singing skill, something that she neglected in the past was deemed important while her skills in instruments and rapping only earned an unenthusiastic response from the management. When she reached the third year of her training, she was told to 'focus' more on dancing and singing, since she won't be 'needing' her instrument skills when she debut in the future, and by that time FNC made it clear that they don't want an another failed girl band in the future. 

Hyesu was very apprehensive and unwillingly agreed with the decision, focusing more on dancing and singing but she didn't completely abandoned her passion behind. Until she was told again that she don't need to rap since it doesn't 'suit' her, that made her terribly upset and confused, she was casted for her skills and it was an irony that she was told to 'stop' because rapping doesn't suit her 'young face' and she don't need her instrument skills when she debut. As the year goes by, the management kept nailing it to Hyesu that she don't need to play instruments nor practice her rapping and that she just put her focus on dancing and singing along with the other trainees. The forcefulness and absurdity of FNC had taken a toll on Hyesu, her confidence in her talent become frail, the demand made her more insecure and the passion that she grew up with slowly died down, replaced by hopelessness that made her think that future seems bleak.

Hyesu left FNC in early 2018 and from that time, she become doubtful and hesitant with her talent and even diffident with signing another agency again. Not until her bestfriend, Park Jaeho, 'forcefully' made her join in the new era of Produce 101. Will this new era of survival show rekindle the dying fire within her or just completely extinguish the only flame of hope that she has

Tactful ㅡ Taciturn
Hyesu was once an almost fearless woman with an outspoken personality. However, this sharp mouth of hers was dulled by the restrictive environment of FNC entertainment. It was good to be frank but there are others who doesn't appreciate that bold personality of Hyesu, seemingly trying to put her in trouble or making things hard for her. She is now very tactful when it comes to interacting with other people, she always think thoroughly of what she is going to say before it came out of , choosing the right words in order not to completely offend the person she is talking to. Hence, this made her lean more on the quiet side of spectrum, only speaking a few words and such, making her look a little detached and difficult to make friends to. I guess, there are also people who don't really appreciate silent people eh? Hyesu won't speak unless it is necessary, she tend to keep her thoughts and everything to herself if no one asked for it, why bother to voice it out if they are not interested?

Diligent ㅡ Insecure
She's diligent as ever, even with her hopes dying down insider her, she refuses to lower her standard. Hyesu's very hardworking and persistent when it comes to herself. If there is something she has to work on, she will do it right away, if the trainers wanted her to improve then she will do it with no hesitation, she'll just take the initiative to herself. However, there's an another reason why she's so diligent herself and that's because of her insecurity towards her skills. The trainers doesn't seem to attach an importance to her instrument and rapping skills, leaving her to only rely on her dancing and singing skills that she neglected in the past. Even putting much time and effort in those areas, it could not save Hyesu's shrinking confidence in herself, thinking that her current level of skill is not enough, not good, cannot be compared to those expectations that they put on her. Hyesu loves playing instruments and rapping, but she doesn't know anymore if she could muster any confidence in displaying it, especially to those people who could hammer down her self-esteem in any moment.

Forbearing ㅡ Self-sacrificing
Even there's something she don't like, a person who is difficult to dealt with or something that really don't seem to settle with her, she's still very calm and patient towards that, holding and refraining herself from doing something that might cause trouble and may worsen the situation, which she really hate the most. In the past, she always got in trouble or scolding because she don't want to do something she didn't want. Small or big mistakes, she's very patient and forgiving with that, thinking that it won't stay forever and will go away soon. Of course, if a person tend to be overgenerous like Hyesu, no doubt there will be something or matters that she had to sacrifice in order to keep the peace. She is quick to help others, just as she is quick to avoid conflict. She dislike confrontations and is perfectly willing to compromise or to deny her own needs in order to get along with others. 

Genuine ㅡ Sensitive
Hyesu might a little different on/off camera but she doesn't try to fake herself when the cameras are rolling, it is just a psychological reaction that makes her conscious of the people watching the show. It's a survival show wherein you need to survive with your own methods, others may paste an artificial attitude towards the camera but Hyesu will be too uncomfortable to do that since she was raised to be an honest person by her parents. Her intentions are pure at heart and there are no hidden agendas behind her actions. She knows what she is, what her weakness and strengths are and is true to herself, she won't lie about she is. Sensitive, sometimes she likes it but there are also times that she wished she isn't too sensitive as a person. Hyesu tend to detect the subtleties in the background, the little gestures, micro expressions, the change of tone in the people's voices, she noticed all of it, and she can't help but attribute some thoughts on what it means. She tend to notice the mood of atmosphere, the temper of the trainees around her and even feel if some was just faking with her. Ignorance is a bliss, and Hyesu wished she had that since she don't want to stress herself out, thinking what those actions and words meant.
 

LIKES.

♢ Cleaning, it is just relaxing for her to clean a room, sweep it, picking up trash or whatever that makes it dirty.
♢ Summer! That's means no cold, she likes every warm, with the sun shining on her. 
♢ Like is an understatement, but she LOVES CATS very very very much.
♢ She love anything sweet! Dessert, chocolates, pastries and everything.

♢ She is really fond of music instruments, any kind.
♢ Hyesu really enjoyed performing! Anything has to do with music, she loves it.

♢ But sometimes she wished that she isn't bestfriends with Jaeho, she always experienced second-hand embarassment because of him.
♢ Probably, that trainee who had a hidden stash of snacks that she sneaked in.
♢ Is scared of horror movies, but doesn't believe that ghosts are real. 
♢ She gets riled up and annoyed when she is scared, to the point that she's even trembling in fear but of course still angry. 
♢ Surprisingly, her nervousness disappears when she sings, so whenever she's nervous, she'll sing quietly to soothe her nerves. (Idk but this is effective for me)

♢ She get too excited like a child when she saw musical instruments, and hell she doesn't care what would others say about her when she is in that MOOD. 
♢ Has a poor eyesight and strong astigmatism so she can't wear contact lenses. Glasses only.

♢ Suffering from poor eyesight makes her ear quite sensitive to people's voice. She'll get to recognize the owner of the voice for the second or third time she heard it.

THE RELATIONSHIP OF BESTFRIENDS

The Bestfriend, Ahn Jaeho

Shin Hyesu first knew Ahn Jaeho as her neighbor's child, they moved in next door when she was 12 years old. If there are words that can perfectly described the 14 year old Jaeho, there a lot, "Emo" "Rebellious" "Grouchy", said by Hyesu. Both families become friends easily, inviting each other on friendly dinners and parties. Hyesu and Jaeho are both only child of their families, so their parents always encouraged them to play together despite the two-years . Jaeho always complained that he doesn't want to 'babysit' her but the always cheerful Hyesu often visited his home to bother him, not minding that he was very annoyed with her. It become the usual cycle of interaction between them as the months goes by. The turning point of their relationship was when Hyesu planned to prank Jaeho by sneaking into his home and surprised him, but in the end, she's the one who received a pleasant surprise. "Jaeho you can dance!" That's what the young Hyesu exclaimed infront of the stupefied Jaeho, as of the latter, he wasn't fond of people discovering his 'secret'. Almost everyday, Hyesu frequently bothered Jaeho about his dancing and sometimes even had non-sense fights because of that matter. It seemed like the glass wall between them shattered and they become more.. closer, well they also had more senseless banterings, but it was nothing to their new level of friendship. Until one day, Jaeho seriously asked her of her opinion about joining a dance academy, that's when Hyesu found out how ignorant was Jaeho about his great dancing abilities, he didn't know how capable he is as a dancer, his moves are smooth and on point, not sloppy compared to other so-called-dancers yet he asked her if he could do well in a academy? That's an understatement, said Hyesu, she believed that Jaeho will be more amazing if he was trained at the dance academy. 

They had separated paths, Hyesu on her way to becoming a trainee while Jaeho is on his road of becoming an aspiring dancer until he was scouted by an entertainment agency. However, their friendship is still strong as ever despite the delayed and slow communication between them. 

Their paths have shape them to how they are now and the two of them have clearly seen the changes from one another.

Hyesu realized how Jaeho became more charismatic and very confident to the point of being vain, but still sarcastic as ever.
While Jaeho saw how Hyesu become more calm and good-tempered but noticed that the bright eyes she always had turned into dull orbs that he could not recognize. Where was the fiery passion that his bestfriend always carried? It is gone?

Hyesu shocked everyone when she told her decision to stop being a trainee and just continue her studies. To say that they were deeply worried wasn't wrong, it was like she returned with her soul already out from her body. Dull and lifeless, with no fire inside her. Even with the support around her, and Jaeho's undying sarcastic but heartfelt words for Hyesu, all of it was in vain. Hyesu doesn't want to be an idol anymore.

Until Jaeho tricked her to join to Produce 101: New Era. By the sound of that, Hyesu could not find the familiar excitement that she always sport but only a feeling of dread.

Hyesu find Roh Howon cool and charismatic but when Jaeho personally introduce his group members of his. Hyesu realized that Howon is someone who is easily flustered, blushes easily and stuttered with his words. This make her confused because he is so charismatic infont of camera and a lot audience but yet he cannot maintain eye contact with her. Whenever they interacted, it will be a cute awkward silence. Hyesu thought a lot of reasons why he's acting like that but it never crossed in her mind that Roh Howon has a big crush on her.

He's like a big energetic puppy, a big sunshine, or just a huge ball of fluff and everyone seems to be entertained by him. Among Jaeho's fellow members, Hajun is the one who's very friendly towards her, often greeting her when they met paths or when he just wanted to talk to her because of his whim. They are of the same-aged so Hyesu find him a bit comfortable except for his loudness.

Do you know the feeling when something crept up along you spine, a chilling feeling or someone eyeing you maliciously. That's what Hyesu feel most of the time when Nam Sunwoo was around or nearby. He isn't doing anything or whatnot but just him, staring at Hyesu, makes the latter felt a little wary of him, like get worried that he might be up to something..

♢ Co-Trainee | Ryuu Tatsuya / 22 / Trainee / 4/10

The first time Hyesu noticed Ryuu Tatsuya is when they are seating in the pyramid of chairs and she hears a high pitched sneeze. Being a curious person herself, she wonder how a 'girl' can do a high-pitched sneeze and try to look among the sea of heads at the top, but of course she fails to find it with her blurry sight. Every time she hears that high-pitch sneeze she can't help but be amaze with that 'girl'. The nth time she hears it, that's when she discovers who 'she' is and oh boi she was wrong, even from afar, she can see that the blurry silhoutte doesn't even resemble to a woman's body. Hyesu can't help but feel very awkward whenever Ryuu was in the vicinity ㅡ the trainee whom she think is a girl. She just hope that Ryuu will not discover that she previously think of him as a girl or else she'll pray to heavens to struck her with a lightning to spare her from the embarassment. Sadly, Jaeho takes pleasure in his bestfriend's misery.

TRAINEE BACKGROUND. 

♢ Shin Hyesu was scouted by an FNC company representative, they were especially impressed by her instrument and rapping skills.. well, at first, that's it. In her first year of training, she had a lot of to catch up to, everyone in the FNC seems advance and had already background in the much needed skills of being a future idol, especially the two most important skills, singing and dancing, which Hyesu didn't practice much in the past. It was like she was starting from scratch, from basics to advance, and she had to do it within a short perior of time if she don't want to get labelled as the 'bad egg' among the trainees, luckily she had some pretty face as a life-saving factor but that's enough to impress the whole management. With her passion and determination, Hyesu's hard work didn't go into waste as she shown great improvement in dancing and singing. However, in every good thing that happens to you, something bad is bound to happen and looks like that saying happened literally to Hyesu. As years goes by, change is inevitable, who would expect that FNC would go to a different path. In her face, she was frankly told to only focus on dancing and singing, and just 'neglect' her original talent. "Stop playing those instruments, they would not be debuting any girl band soon and much less in the future." "Stop practicing your rap, your face and aura doesn't suit to rapping, there would be other trainees who are suited for the position of a rapper." "Just focus on dancing and singing, only that." It was like Hyesu was robbed off her freedom to do what she wanted, her passion forcibly locked inside her, not to appear and that just makes the fire of her determination slowly die down. What's the point of being an idol if its like that, being only told to focus on things that she wan't confident of, is just so hopeless.

♢ She gave out a noticeable sigh, which she didn't know by herself. "My.. friend told me to join, so here I am."

Are you confident in yourself?

♢ Hyesu stayed still when she heard the question, she looks like deer caught in the red lights. "Uhhh.. I am not that really confident." She awkwardly laughed.

What if produce 101 have a new concept? Would you still want to join?

♢ Hyesu furrowed her brows, looking helpless and worried. "I am already here, I cannot back-out now." Hyesu felt goosebumps when she remembered her bestfriend's theat.

♢ "What?" She answered dumbfounded by the question. She started to get antsy, thinking of any specialty she had. "I-I can meow!" Hyesu felt stupid as soon as she spoke.
