"Maybe I don't want to smile."
- Oz
I'm more than who I was created to be

i'm in charge of my own destiny

The empathy he develops by spending time with Minseok gradually bleeds into his everyday life. If he was a Disney character, Oz would surely be singing "Part of Your World". It starts as an almost childlike wonder, then develops into a desire to please and make Minseok proud of his improvements, seeking the recognition as he was programmed to want that gratification of pleasing others. From that, he realizes when Minseok is happy, he's happy and it's a different rush than the superficial cries of adoring fans.

He starts asking the others around, "What makes you happy today?" He asks this of his fellow holograms and the staff. And sometimes he doesn't get  good answers. But it's sadness that pushes him to the edge. Recognizing that happiness is not supposed to be a permanent emotion, he comes to realize that when the people he cares about (yes, actually cares) are sad, he is too.
OZ

Before It All
Public Name: Oz

Personality: Loud, exuberant, exciteable - there is never a dull moment when you're with Oz. If there is someone shouting in excitement: Oz. If there's someone hyping up the fans in the crowd to chant louder: Oz. Something goes haywire on stage and the other members are looking who to blame? Oz. He is supposed to be the ever energetic vitamin in the group, the one who sets the good mood. As such, he is programmed to adjust quickly to situations and to read them to know the right opportunity to deviate just enough to get a good reaction from the fans and even the staff if they aren't performing.

With that comes a boyish personality and a bit of immaturity. He acts like a big kid who was never told the meaning of volume control or how to not take things up a notch. Programmed to be curious and to ask questions concerning nearly anything, his goal is to keep conversation going; and most importantly to get people to smile and laugh at him. He loves being the center of attention, and craves the reactions of others around him. Specifically, the positive reinforcement. He will not relent until he makes you crack a smile. Above all else, what others perceive is not immaturity: it's endearing boyish charms.

"Naturally" gifted at talking tirelessly, he could be classed as the groups resident extrovert. Never shy or reserved. He takes any chance he can to just talk to you about anything. He can make conversation about anything. You don't have to worry about carrying the conversation as Oz will do it for you. So rest your vocal chords. However, Oz is made to be observant, to read the general atmosphere in the room so to speak. If there is a lull or negativity brewing, Oz will see it and jump in to correct the issue before it becomes too oppressing. He's the mood-maker. And the mood he is predisposed to make is happiness.

Choosing Oz as your bias says a lot about you. You're the kind of person who doesn't want a bittersweet ending. You're all about optimism and getting your happily ever after. Rose tinted glasses are your fashion accessory of choice.

Styling Choices: His presence must always be known. Sparks and splashes of bright colors, something that flows with him when he moves, anything that will make him appear to be a moving bundle of color and motion. His style emphasizes attention so that the eye of the audience goes to him when he is on mark. Even when not in a performance (maybe in interviews, in his glass box, or talking to the audience), he moves with flourishes and animated, big movements. If he's not in some more showy stage outfit, they style him to look like that boy you knew in school who might just be your best friend or the class clown. Casual and easy. Just like his personality. Simple bottoms, different colorful graphic tees, maybe a blazer on top to dress it up a bit, and only simple rings for jewelry. Oz actually hasn't been given piercings in his ears surprisingly.

Habits:
- As general rule: all his motions are BIG. He doesn't just point: he waves his entire arm for example.
- Often will pick farther out fans in the crowd and throw or shoot finger hearts at them.
- When standing idle, he crosses and rests his arms behind his head, and whistles. He has a really nice whistle.
- He has a very distinct and loud laugh easily recognizable.

Individual Post-Debut Experiences:
- Guest appearance on the current iteration of shows like SMTM and Unpretty Rapstar. A lot of "real" rappers were offended by his appearance, but many more also had to admit his performance was nearly flawless. He also brought some of their highest viewer ratings yet.

Likes:
- Practical Jokes
- Anime and Manga. He knows all of the popular ones and is constantly being updated on the latest. Sometimes for fans he'll sing the opening and ending songs of popular anime even though he is not one of the main vocalists. His favorite is from an very old anime called Digimon (Butterfly).
- Candy and sweets. Not that he actually eats them. But it's on his official bio.
- Puppies! Sometimes in his glass box they'll program a puppy for him to play with, much to the love of his fanbase.

Dislikes:
- Boredom.
- Negative feelings. It's all about feeling happy and positive!
- Being silent.
- Shoujo manga. He's a man of action, not romance!

If he were sent to a deserted island, what 3 things would he take?
- Manga so he won't be too bored, a machete for adventure, and *insert a member of choice, probably Cupid* so he can talk to someone and not be too lonely.

What feature does he like most about himself?
- His smile and laugh!

What feature does he dislike the most?
- His shoulders. Actually he wishes he was just a bit broader and bigger in general. Not that it bothers him all that much. Actually he thinks his laugh is kind of loud. No way. His laugh is amazing. /he keeps listing off things and immediately changes his mind until he finally decides he can't decide and moves on to another question because he's bored now/

Relationship to....

- Takahashi Shiori: Mom. Mother. Mommy. Mom. Momma. Mother. Mom. Mom. Mommy. Hi. :D

While not a maternal relationship (despite how he'll teasingly say EOMMA!! to her sometimes), Oz is very easy going and teasing towards Shiori, which she encourages. She enjoys his carefree, happy personality. She even laughs at his jokes and tomfoolery. Because if Oz is acting like this? He's following his programming. This is how he is supposed to be, what she envisioned of him. He does defer to her as the guiding point in most things without question; and one word from her, and he calms down real quick.

- Choi Moonho: Moonho is amazing. He creates their music! He writes the lyrics! Aside from telling him how great he is for his talents, Oz doesn't interact too much with Moonho.

- Yoo Hanbyul: He just drives her nuts. "Why am I wearing this?" "How come he's wearing that?" "I think your eyeliner might be off a fourth of centimeter." "Can I call you noona? Or do you want to call me oppa?" Hanbyul can;t take his insistent chatter half the time. But the other half, especially when she's had one of those bad days, Oz is able to smile at her like she's the most important thing and it cheers her up. She loves to hate the kid.

- Kim Soyun: Mystery, mystery...! What is Soyun really doing today? Their dynamic is interesting in that unlike when Oz is chatting the ear off another staff member, Soyun is quiet and just smiles and nods at him. Out of everyone, she is the one who just lets him keep talking the longest. And all without her ever really needing to add anything to the conversation.

- Lee Gongpil: Poor Gongpil on the days he becomes the object of Oz's chatter. Oz really tries to be nice and friendly to Gongpil, but it's so fun and easy to . Especially on days where Hanbyul is yelling at him. Oz is just trying to get Gongpil to laugh at himself some more! "That's not really helpful Oz...truly."

- Jang Sangchul: Sometimes Oz's loud unpredictability is the bane to Sangchul's existence. It's not that he doesn't like Oz. Oz is funny and likeable, he should be. He was programmed that way. But sometimes Sangchul stares at what Oz does on stage, when he seems to purposefully mess up a choreo or deviate from the normal flow, and has to ask himself, "Okay. Is that what was supposed to happen?" Oz's unique unpredictability makes choreographing for him so difficult at times that Sangchul wonders if the pay is worth it.

Any other information I should know?
- The name "Oz" comes from Ozymandias and was a suggestion from a long since gone programer. Well versed in western literature and poetry, he felt that this undertaking was the ultimate show of Shiori's hubris.

- Oz was designed to be bi-racial so he would have appeal to a global audience.

- He will draw digital emoticons on his glass box to express his feelings often.

- He is programmed to be observant and to read situations well based on people. So he focuses a lot on facial expressions, body language, and tonal changes.

- They've programmed it so that Oz has access to a library of mange and anime to keep up his hobby. He can usually access this at anytime, so he is really good at listing off facts and other interesting information about them at any time. This includes knowing lyrics to the OSTs.

- Face Claim: Vernon (Seventeen).
- Backup Face Claim: Lucas (NCT)
- Talent Twin: Probably Vernon.

The Downfall
What triggered this change?
- There are a series of things that may have triggered his change, but it really comes down to one decision made by Shiori in her attempt to make him the perfect performer: to adjust his program to be slightly more open to read emotions than it originally was. A simple switch in a few sequences of code was all it took. The inclination may have always been there since Oz's inherent code allowed for some variability to better fit his more mischevious and unpredictable behavior. In their effort to have a more natural rapper, the predispositioning was just given more free reign.

Spending time one on one with Minseok with his encouragement to simply feel and see things opens this up even further. He's encouraged to take what he sees and feels around him to channel into his work. Minseok constantly challenged Oz and his so-called programming, especially after the minor breakdown he has. It started well before that, with him becoming less about just being the happy virus and more about a person concerned about others well being, but it's once that dam of pent up frustrations break that he truly realizes how far he's come.

His shift feels subtle and gradual until that point. And now with his continued encouragement to continue his growth, the changes aren't stopping. They're only growing stronger.

How much does he trust his other group members?
- At first, Oz feels alone. Until he knows the others are going through similar changes like himself, he is a little afraid to talk to them about it. What if he was some weird anomaly? It's hard enough to understand himself: how is he supposed to understand them?

But once he knows they too are changing and going through their own deviancy, he realizes they are his brothers in this. He will fight for them should the need arise. He wants to trust them because if he doesn't, who else can he? He has to believe he can trust them, otherwise he will sink into a dark place of loneliness.

Personality: Smiles. All smiles and trying to remain happy. This remains mostly true. In fact, many of his prior personality traits seem to carry over with him. He can still talk to you for hours about nothing and enjoys the light hearted moments he can get.

So what's changed?

Empathy. Oz is no longer permanently on one setting when it comes to his emotional outpour. He is increadibly attuned to those around him now, reading the situations more clearly than before. Where his default used to be "get them to smile and laugh", he is far more prone to just being quiet and asking them what is wrong. What can he do to make it better, if at all? He seems to show genuine concern and a desire to make things better now versus a more superficial "don't worry, be happy!" mentality. Oz reads a situation with a far more diverse lens now. And he accepts that sometimes he can't "happy" the negative things away. It's a hard fact and harsh reality he has to realize all too quickly. So instead, he begins adjusting his behavior to be better at supporting them.

Being more aware of others opens his eyes to other inequities around him. His talkative nature now turns towards more introspection. His once boundless energy is tempered with some more forethought. He is far more likely to hesitate and pause rather than instantly shout a random response to the situation. There have been times where a planned moment of him suddenly jumping out of nowhere while another member is speaking doesn't pan out because he decides, "Huh...that might be rude and interrupt him." And then there are moments where he thinks, "You know...right now I don't feel like that's actually funny. Why am I laughing? Minseok wouldn't think it's funny..." Feeling and understanding the emotions of others forces him to think about his own feelings on things. He's realizing that there are days where he doesn't feel like being happy.

Which unearths something others didn't really expect from him. Rebelliousness. Defiance. "No. I don't want to trip on my solo this time." "No, I don't think that's funny." "No. I'm tired and would rather not talk right now." He's much more vocal about what displeases him and sometimes outright refuses to comply just because the staff tell him to do so. Why does he have to smile when he is not pleased? The answer is he doesn't, but others appearently think he does. Oz is realizing his position in this world and it's distressing to him. He really is beginning to see that, aside from a select few, he is nothing but a hologram designed for their entertainment. Exploitation is a harsh thing to realize about oneself. He doesn't like it, and it makes him resentful and angry: something he's been able to recognize in others, and only now is understanding his own feelings on the matter. This leads him to being an emotional, sometimes sensitive soul. It's great for feeling compassion for others; but it also means he is tending to act more and more on his emotional inputs over what is rational and intelligent.

Oz likes that he brings people happiness. He really does. He'd be happy, so happy, if he could do it the rest of his "life". If he is making someone genuinely happy, even for a moment, that is worth something. But now, he is wondering about himself. At the end of it all, who makes the clown laugh? He wants his own voice to be heard, and for others to respond to him and understand him. Give him the same sympathy and compassion he has tried so hard to give to others, human and hologram alike.

Likes:
- Old school hip hop. He get's to this more after Minseok's insisting he know his "roots".
- Memes. When he decided to explore the bigger internet space, he found memes. He always has a meme ready for the situation. Sitting in the glass box, if someone says something, he is liable to say, "WAIT! I have a MEME FOR THIS!" before projecting it onto the glass wall.
- Cats. Look. He still likes dogs. But could they please program a cat for him once in a while? Or both?

Dislikes:
- Shounen Anime. He really likes ones with more emotional impact. Endless fight scenes bore him as people keep powering up to over 9000.
- Being silenced and forgotten.
- Cruelty. He once tried to read an article on war crimes and had to stop. It hit him harder than he thought possible.
- Emoticons. He's going to say what he's feeling for now on, thank you very much. Or use a meme. Some things don't change.

If he changed his name, what inspired the name?
- No name change yet. There is a name he'd like to take or be inspired by, but only if at the end his friend would allow it.

What steps does he take to achieve his new dream?
- Speak out. He's subtle at first. Casually making a suggestion or not doing what is asked of him. He needs to stay subtle if he doesn't want to raise suspicion. But Oz isn't the subtle type, and he can only do this for so long. So with those he determines to be possible allies (Moonho, Minseok, Hanbyul, Gonpil - all of these folks maybe), he makes his desires more well known. And most of all, he wants to leave something behind in case at the end, he has to leave.

When conflict comes, is he a fight or flight sort of person?
- Fight all the way once he comes into full swing of his deviancy. With experiencing what it's like for others to feel helpless, someone has to be ready to stand up for them and himself. His increasing defiance to bend to the will of the staff just because they assume he should is telling of this. The only person he is uncertain about fighting with is Shiori. That is a very complex matter for him, and he still is liable to flee that fight if he could.

What would you say is his greatest advantage in this situation?
- His inherent programming makes his change more subtle, and many around him can easily chalk it up as the natural deviance he is made for. With this however, he is able to get a viewpoint of humanity and make his own decisions on them. In a way, Oz's ability to empathize gives him clarity. He can connect with others on a more emotional level, hopefully earning him they sympathy and understanding.

What is his greatest weakness?
- He becomes increasingly bad at hiding his changes. He tries so hard to remain the happy mood-maker. Oz just continues to become increasingly bad at lying and pretending. Even if he can read situations well, and respond well, his pent up frustrations and emotions concerning those around him and himself are bound to explode. He is becoming emotional, and those emotions can cloud the clarity he has been developing.

Relationship to....

- Takahashi Shiori: What was once playful, maybe even parental, now is strained and tense. Oz never used to question Shiori, and when he did it was all according to how she'd envisioned him. Her moodmaker, her happy virus...is that all he is to her? A molded puppet? He's sees her as creator and also oppressor. She put all the pieces together for all of them. But to what purpose? Everytime she tries to correct him or scold him, Oz just feels an increasing resentment. Was he just there to be exploited for someone else's fantasy? Why was he programmed to defer to her words if not to be her pet to be used as pleased? Oz feels conflicted and angry at the same time, while his lingering feelings of playful affection towards her always linger with him. It is becoming increasingly hard for him to put on the front of being her merry mood maker every time they interact directly. What if...what if he did one day just tell her "No more." What would she do?

Anger, playfulness, resentment: they give way to a newer feeling for him - fear. He can't seem to fathom her compared to others. While he is learning to feel so many things and read others, she is his enigma. Shiori is a brilliant woman who is passionate about her work. He can't keep pretending around her forever.

- Choi Moonho: The moment Oz asked Moonho, "Can it not be another love song?", he had his attention. When asked why not, Oz had to think carefully before stating:

"We...can't love right? So doesn't that give our fans false hope coming from us?" Moonho never expected these words from Oz. He finds it every fascinating how Oz will now comment on the lyrics he's given, and sometimes even offer suggestions. His interest in Oz grows only more when Oz even asks if he could try writing the lyrics himself. Plus, Oz doesn't judge him for his attire ever.

When he hears of Oz's "glitch", he's the one who sends for Minseok on a hunch.

- Yoo Hanbyul: One day, Oz simply asks her, "Why do you have to yell at Gongpil? He seems upset by that." She was not expecting him to call her out right before she is about to rip into him. For once, she is too stunned to actually respond. From then on, Hanbyul may note the gradual shift in Oz's concern for others. He's showing genuine interest and concern for her current state, and not just trying to make her happy. While she kind of misses the energetic boy from before, this one feels so much more real.

- Kim Soyun: Soyun is another enigma to Oz. He tries to coax her into conversation with him, and is surprised that no one seems to know much about her except as the intern that Hanbyul bosses around. Oz wants to get to know Soyun, figure out her history if he can. She's one of the people who influence their image afterall. They should try to be friends if possible.

- Lee Gongpil: To Gongpil's surprise, Oz becomes one of his favorites because Oz will defend him. "Aw, leave Gonpil alone today. Is there anything I can do to make it better?" If and when Oz can, he just talks with Gongpil much like before. However, instead of Oz always teasing him and trying to "cheer up baby!" him, he is actually listening to Gongpil. Oz is actually asking him about his thought process behind the storyboarding. Gongpil may end up being the second person Oz opens up about what he is going through with his deviancy after Minseok. Questioning existance is Gongpil's specialty afterall!

- Jang Sangchul: It's odd to say that Oz's adhering more to the choreo without questions is more bothersome than his previous behavior for Sangchul. Damnit kid, the moment Sangchul finally thinks he has the randomness of Oz figured into the choreo well, he goes and starts acting like a more perfect idol. That punk. Though he won't admit he does appreciate the more attentive behavior Oz has now. Sangchul really isn't complaining. It's just weird, that's all.

Any other information I should know?
- If he could change his name, and if Minseok would allow him to, he'd love for it to be Lee Minhyuk or something similar - named after Minseok's lost brother.

- That manga and anime library he used to access easily for information? Let's just say, upon beginning to change, Oz starts using it to also access articles and other sources of information. No one really thought to put a lock on what he could access. They just programmed him to only access the things they thought he'd need. This is how he's able to look up different types of music and even find details of Minseok. After his falling out with Minseok, he stops using it for looking up people and tends to stick to using it for music and interesting articles. And memes. Memes are of utmost importance.

- As he develops his own voice more, Oz wants to actually write his own lyrics. He wants input on their meaning. If anything, he's learned writing from a place close to his so called "heart" results in some of the best lyric writing. Or at least that's the impression he gets from Minseok, and maybe Moonho. As time goes on, Minseok begins writing down for Oz lyrics...just in case the worst comes to happen, someone will have something left of him.
If you could leave one statement to your name, what would it be?

If anything, simple compassion and understanding can do wonders. Choose your words and moments carefully. The impact of one action can cause far reaching ripples that you might not even realize the impact of until it's far too late. Take care in what you do, and then face the outcome fearlessly. Take responsiblity for what you have wrought, and be unafraid for you might have no choice or be forced to lose it forever. In the end, he hopes his voice isn't lost amongst it all.
What about your situation scares you most?

That he is only an object to others. Some toy and plaything that they expect to be just that for exploitation. Oz wants and can be so much more than what his initial programming has set forth. He's taking his first steps towards this. He is so afraid to lose this. Let him continue to grow, and don't kill him at the root yet before he can find out what he can be, and show what his voice can be.

General

Name: Lee Minseok
FC: Mithra Jin
Age: 38
Personality: Once a popular rapper back in his twenties, he left that career a long time ago after the untimely death of his baby brother. Now Minseok is one of the leading rap trainers for SM.

Generally a no-nonsense sort with a gruff exterior, his students and co-workers know him as hardworking and serious. His friends know him better for his sarcastic, and sometimes caustic sense of humor, as well as his realist view on life. He speaks his mind effortlessly and without reservation. He is definitely not the type to give anyone warm fuzzies that's for certain. All of his students and even co-workers are either in fear of him or aggravated by his gruff exterior.

But beneath the rough pessimism is a passionate and caring person. After his career began to fall and his brother dying, he's just become less inclined to see the silver lining in things. He keeps a healthy does of realism and skeptisism because THAT is how you keep yourself from being surprised and disappointed at life. He used to be more energetic and outwardly passionate about his life and work. Maybe he still is...somewhere in that pickled exterior might be a refreshing cucumber. (Note: This is an actual analogy Oz uses at one point to describe Minseok, and it actually managed to make Minseok laugh before he told Oz he was a head and to shut the hell up.)

----------------------------------------------------------------
Platonic

How did your character find a friend in this person?
- It's an interesting story. While there are programmers who can finesse and create holograms that are near perfect, nothing can substitute the realness of an actual experienced veteran. When they were first programming Oz, they used input from various rappers, mostly sticking to so-called idol rappers. But there was always something missing in his flow and how he emotes. Frankly, it didn't feel natural, and as Moonho frankly puts it, "because it's not."

So enter SM. Minseok is a rap trainer with the company, and was also an underground rapper and idol back in his early twenties. He is retired now and spends his time grooming the next generation of SM idols. Who better to advise than him?

At first, they simply try to discuss with him concerning technique and best practices. For Minseok, this clinical approach made absoutely no sense. "If your issue is that your new toy sounds too unreal, then do you think you can fix it by adding more number to your program? What I should really be doing is having one on one training like I do with the trainees at the company." He fully meant this as sarcasm because really, how do you train a digital projection? He scoffs at the idea of holograms, even the best and most advanced of holograms, could ever replace living and breathing humans.

"That isn't a bad idea."

"Come again?"

It was agreed that maybe Minseok had a point. So begins their work in adjusting some of Oz's programming. Before Minseok knows it, he is basically having delivered to him, in his studio, Oz's glass box.

It was rough at first, and the first few sessions almost made Minseok quit. He really wasn't taking it seriously as this was a hologram. How real could it possibly be? Begrudgingly, he did admit it was a pretty good rapper for what it was. But the thing annoyed him. It just wouldn't shut up. He tried to teach it how to rap, but every time it would sound the same. How do you teach something not human to be human?

What Minseok didn't realize was that Oz was realizing himself he wasn't accomplishing what he was programmed to do on many fronts. For one, even though he knows he was programmed to be a decent, if not pretty darn good, rapper, Minseok didn't seem to ever like what he did. And two, he'd yet to make Minseok smile or laugh during their sessions even once. Minseok just seemed angry and upset at him. Why was that? How does Oz fix that? Being "himself" wasn't working...

"How the hell are you supposed to sound real if you don't have real experience? If you're supposed to be this super computer program, why can't you ever show me something other than this shallow, happy thing?" He says to Oz after several sessions. He'd tried to make the hologram angry, sad, anything other than the "happy to be here" thing Shiori programmed.

Something about his words made Oz...well, Oz didn't know what it was at the time, but even though he just smiled and said he'd do better...Oz didn't know what to think about that twinge of something he...felt? If that was the right word. Something about disappointing Minseok again just...didn't feel "normal" to him.

And from there, Oz begins to pay attention. He begins observing, and something in him decides one day to try and maybe not be...well, be himself. He just quietly listens to staff members complaining about their lives. Oz begins seeing the complexities in their interactions and emotions. Nothing was quite black and white. For lack of better words, Oz was developing empathy and sympathy.

After that, Minseok noticed the hologram seemed to actually get better. Oz was not asking him questions sometimes over lyrics. Not just about the meanings: he was actually asking him about what the artists were feeling when they wrote or performed the lyrics. Time and time again, Oz would appear for training and surprise Minseok with questions about a song he'd downloaded to listen to. Oz was doing homework outside of what was asked of him. He was also making idle chatter with Minseok about the goings on with the staff and his other members. He was commenting on their daily lives, remarking on how so and so was not having a good one, or how this person was sad because she had her heart broken by some , or how he was happier because his son was born...there was a subtle shift in the emotional delivery of his raps that Minseok was actually impressed by him. He found he was actually talking back to Oz like he was a real person. It was like he was guiding a child in understanding the things he was trying to teach him. Without Minseok realizing it, there was almost something brotherly in how he was treating Oz these days. Their interactions were less about rap training now, even though their continued interactions were presumably for this after the debut of Duality. They were les frequent, but Minseok was asked to be a continued consultant and trainer for Oz as Shiori had noticed the improvements in Oz's performance.

The shift was so seemless that it wasn't until Oz one day asked him-

"Minseok, who is Minhyuk?"

-that Minseok realized any of this. Minhyuk was his little brother who died from being drunk and stupid on the road ten years ago. He made the connections that Oz, in his happily dumb way, reminded him of his little brother from better days; and Minseok snapped. He told Oz he was the tiest of THINGS for prying into his personal life and using his super computer bull to do it.

Oz stopped going to see Minseok for a while after that. Seeing Minseok's anger and the sadness beneath it just sent Oz over the edge. He wa already beginning to question things, empathizing with people far more and more; but this was the first time the disappoint of someone actually hurt OZ. He felt terrible and upset because he'd upset Minseok.

Back with the staff, he goes through the motions while still trying to make sense of what he'd done and how he could make it better. But he couldn't make it better. That realization made him finally say to a staff, who asked him to smile for them, "I don't feel like smiling today."

It's Moonho who contacts Minseok after witnessing this. While he normally wouldn't get involved, Oz's continued progress and questions have him interested, and he has a funny feeling that Minseok might either know the issue or be able to fix it. So Oz is sent to Minseok for "a refresher".

And Minseok see's a very distraught and lost kid in Oz, like his little brother before he became a unsaveable mess.

What made your character know he could rely on them?
- After the realization that he had caused Minseok extreme grief and pain, Oz went into a downward spiral of self-doubt and anger. He couldn't comprehend why he was so sad and upset when it was Minseok who should be the one sad and upset.

But when he saw Minseok again, instead of just ignoring him or treating him like a "thing" again, Minseok was actually concerned. He is even remorseful upon seeing that Oz is a wreck compared to what he is used to seeing.

"You're not some ty 'thing'. I shouldn't have used that language. You're a head for sure, but you're my head and we're going to figure this out. Stop pouting in the corner and get your up. They don't pay me to be your therapist."

Even though official training with Minseok has lessened since the beginning, Oz is still sent for a refreshing session from time to time. It's how they stay connected. And when Oz figures out how to text and make phonecalls without being too monitored, Minseok basically has a new family member to bug him at all the odd hours. Because who doesn't want a random cat meme 2 in the morning? (Minseok sure doesn't, but he ain't got the heart to tell him no.)

What does your character rely on this person for?
- Realness and stability. Minseok has little to nothing to do with his programming. He has little actual buy in aside from a nominal service fee he receives for his work with the project. He is the outsider that can tell Oz how things really are with real experience and emotions.

Minseok encourages him to be real. He tells Oz that even if he isn't flesh and blood, there's nothing wrong with him. He's allowed to be upset, happy, sad, angry, anything he wants to feel. Minseok is one of the first people to make Oz's emotions and thoughts feel validated.

What do you feel their relationship might be by the end of the story?
- Surprise me! I feel like I've set this up for a continued brotherly bond to be developed. Maybe Minseok gets brought on permanently to further Oz's development. Or maybe something happens that forces their relationship to be broken or separated. I've basicaly written a novel at this point, and I am SO SORRY FOR THAT.

Is there anything your character worries about regarding this person?
- What he really means to Minseok? Does Minseok only see him as some fancy technology? What if he gets into trouble for all of this? Oz's thoughts switch from worrying about his personal wellbeing to that of Minseok's. Minseok has suffered a great loss with his brother already. Oz is worried most that he will only add to that...but at this point, Oz can't stop what he's becoming.
