[creative, leaderly] // dahn looked around his groupmates, instantly remembering from the mt they took during the first week of class. that girl was a slacker, a leach if you will. the other girl is alright but bossy. he could work with her though. that boy is insecure but smart. he knew the first girl would never show up to their meetings, the 2nd girl would try to take over, and the boy will just listen. dahn speaks up first. "nice to see you again! the mt was fun, wasn't it? you were one of my roommates, right?" he smiled reassuringly at the shy boy. "i'm excited to work with you." he shyly smiled back, but looked less tense. dahn turned to the bossy one. "so, what do you think we should do our project about?" the girl smiled, launching into a much-too-long explanation about her ideas and why they're the best ideas to work with. the lazy girl picked her nose and scrolled through her phone while the boy listened. "wow, those sound great," dahn complimented. "i like the 2nd one. what about you guys?" the boy nodded, agreeing and the girl waved her hand dismissively. "okay, then i'll divide up the work. could you help me?" he asked the bossy girl. he let her take his pencil and paper, gently suggesting and influencing the division. he didn't want to make her mad by acting like a leader, but he wasn't going to let her take the role completely. she just needed to think she was.

[intelligent, hardworking] // dahn with this close 👌 to sending a very long text, full of profanities, to the lazy girl. taking a deep breath, he researched, wrote, and edited the part that was assigned to her as well as is own part. he stayed up all night, making sure he knew both his and her information for the presentation. afterward, he wrote a long email to the professor about the lack of contribution his teammate gave.

[fake flirt] // just light fan service. he doesn't do it often bc it's not like he has a lot of fans, but after working a lot of jobs, he could distinguish between the customers that came to see him and customers that were just regular customers. it's pretty harmless. just nice or really cheesy compliments. it's so cheesy that it's more of a joke than anything else. (see sh*t dahn says.) when he actually likes someone, he gets all tongue-tied and is the least-smooth person ever.

[really lame humor] // puns. all. day. long. at work, he can pick up a packet of salt and lightly poke you with the packet and say, "assault." (see sh*t dahn says.) this part of him comes out mostly when he's in a good mood.

[sentimental] // dahn cried when simba tried to wake up his dad's corpse. it's probably his 16th time watching this, and he's sobbing like a baby. "why are you so emotional?" his baby sister said, hitting his arm. dahn only cried harder into his pillow.
when he saw notebook for the first time at 10 years old, he wished to the stars every night before he went to sleep for a love like theirs.

[emotionally unstable, short-tempered] // when the lazy girl dragged him to an empty classroom and began to interrogate him about if he was the reason she got a 0, he was completely and utterly done. he really didn't care what she said or thought. he decided to ignore her and walked out, but she seized his jacket and yelled louder. he snapped. he grabbed a nearby chair and threw it at the ground next to her. she yelped, falling back in fear. he was happy that she let go. he walked out and locked himself in a nearby bathroom, sobbing when he realized what happened. he just scared that poor girl, and he gave her a 0 on an important project. he didn't deserve to live. after crying it out, he thought that he should apologize, but after assessing the situation, he concluded that they were even. they never spoke again.

[self-absorbed, cheap] // other people's problems didn't matter. dahn was trying to survive. he took napkins from his work, forgotten pens, picked up more than 1 serving of free food at school events he wasn't interested in, and chose work over hanging out with friends. he didn't particularly care if others thought he was cheap or selfish. he just had to take care of his problems and survive to live. it was always him first.

background 

- dahn was born to a rich couple who owned an excellent fishing company in jeju-do. his grandfather started it, and his father worked at it his entire life, inheriting it when his grandfather retired. it did so well, that they made another branch in busan, where they moved to when he was around 4.
- when he was 5, his little sister was born: lee dahnbee (단비). she's a little demon, and no one, except him, shall harm her.
- money was never an issue for him. in fact, it gained him friends. if he bought his classmates a few things, they'd be his friends. he got a lot of friends, and it was really nice. middle and high school were great. of course, he studied because his dad told him to. if he got good scores, he'd get an allowance, or bonus. with his good scores, he was able to get scholarships to a college in seoul.
- in the last year of high school, he told his parents that he wanted to study art. he never saw his dad become so angry that day. his dad told him to study business so he could inherit the company. he also made him study japanese bc they were going to open another branch in japan and buy shipping ports within the next 5 years.
- after a year of studying business in college, he started taking artistic electives. he officially decided to quit studying business after his 2nd year. his dad got so mad that he cut off all support, leaving dahn to pay the remaining of his tuition and dorm. it kind of broke him and made him tougher. he couldn't even talk to his dad face-to-face because he was in seoul. he just argued with him through the phone. dahn sold over half his closet (got quite a profit), worked four jobs during the summer and 2 during the school year, got a cheap 1-room apartment nearby, and took out student loans for the first time.
- dahn's daily schedule consists of 3 classes for his digial arts major, working for 2 part-time jobs as a waiter at a cafe and a cashier at a convenience store. his convenience store job is during the night, so he can study while he's at it. any free time was used to study or pick up a shift at work. his "social time" was just during class where he sat and sometimes talked to his classmates. he texted his sister a lot.
- he got fired from one of his jobs because he accidentally called his boss a cheating, lying conman, so he was looking for another one.
- if this game cafe paid more than minimum wage, like his other jobs, then he'd quit all his jobs and work their as much as possible. after all, he'd get more profit that way.

- scrapbooks. he always carries a small travel journal in his back and puts little souvenirs in there for remembrance. for example, one the first day of the job, he'll take a polaroid pic of the cafe or a napkin with the cafe's logo and stick it in there. gallery1 gallery2
- drawing/doodling in his notebook
- wants to take up gardening as a hobby. he's just taking care of his little succulent by his bedside right now. he named it Peter the Prick.

she is dahn's personal little demon, and he wouldn't trade her for the world. they do know that they love each other, and they tell each other that often.

one of his fondest memories with her is when he was in middle school, he walked her to her first day of elementary school. he even helped her pick a seat, hung her coat up, set up her mini-locker, all that. the older students (5th and 6th graders) came to sneak a look at the handsome, older boy before class started. dahnbee was so proud that she puffed out her chest and "yeah, this is my brother! get your own!"

they tell each other everything. they know each other inside out, and constantly press each other's buttons. she can always go to him to rant about petty, middle school drama, and he can always go to her about his worries for his future. they don't see each other often, but whenever they have time, she'll get on a train by herself to stay with him for a day or two. she always insists on paying for groceries as "rent," but he knows that she wants to make sure he's eating. she never gives him money though because he does have his pride.
