When Zuji was younger she always seemed to have a bright smile on her face and she literally lit up when she talked about singing but that is about the only thing that hasn't changed over her years. 
Zuji is passionate about very few things but those things she is so passionate about it doesn't even matter. Music is her passion, there has never been anything else and there will never be anything else. She has spent her entire life working towards music and she has thrown everything into it. She is willing to have no life as long as she will potentially debut one day. She refuses to even think about anything else. She easily puts things in order in her head and if she deems something as unimportant she will not give it attention. She is good at getting attention too. People just seem to be drawn to her when she walks in the room. As long as she doesn't open and start mouthing off she is popular and well liked. 
Zuji has this thing where she says mean, dumb things and doesn't really see that it is mean and that she probably shouldn't say such things. She has an attitude that if you say anything negative to her she will find something about you to attack herself. She won't go out of her way to be mean but she will be the one to finish things. She has zero tolerance for anything childish or mundane. When the others goof off and she gets bothered she would be the one to make them stop. She doesn't give in to them being cute either. She has a habit of digging her heels in and not budging an inch. She often leaves emotions off her face, especially when she is in public. 

background. For as long as she can remember Ziju has wanted to be a singer. She used to grab anything and use it as a microphone and sang to her parents. They thought it was the cutest thing but she was very serious.
As she got older she didn't change her mind about it either. She would watch all kinds of videos of singers and practice copying them so she could figure out how she should look. Rather than play dress up she would play concert.
For her thirteenth birthday, her parents got Ziju a huge surprise. There was an audition for Tencent Music Entertainment in two weeks and they were going to take her to it.

Ziju was accepted into TME on her first try. Her parents refused to let her drop out of school so she took her core classes in the morning, skipped through lunch and would go to train after. She spent her entire afternoon training and would head home just in time to shower and go to bed. She did her homework on the train and during breaks. 
The first few years were hard. She absolutely loved training but she was getting very little sleep because her classes were getting harder because she was getting further into school. Her last year of school she almost dropped out of school but her parents wanted her to graduate so desperately. She forced her way through. 
Once Ziju was done with school things got easier, yet harder. She had more time so she started taking more classes and trying to learn more skills. That was when she started learning English and Korean. 
In 2015 Ziju started having her doubts about her path. She was going to find a way to become a singer but she didn't know if this was the right way to go. She went to one of the staff to talk about how she was feeling. The staff listened and offered a solution. 
SM Entertainment often would swap trainees with TME and she could talk with someone there about getting Ziju transferred over there. Ziju thought that would be perfect. But nothing happened. She waited and waited and waited. Over a year later she was fully ready to leave TME and went into the same office to tell the staff member she was leaving but when she got there she got great news. 
Starting on the first of the year she was officially a trainee of SM Entertainment. The staff member had set Ziju up in the dorms and was planning on going to find Ziju. 
Ziju didn't believe it but was ready for something new. She put her trust in the staff member and packed her things.

When Ziju started training at SM it was honestly surreal. She grew up knowing about SM and dreaming that she could maybe be there one day. 
Life in South Korea was so different. She was on her own for the first time and she didn't know many people there. It was hard. She didn't realize how hard she relied on her parents until they weren't around for her to lean on. She decided to put all her efforts into music. 
Just after WayV debut, Zuji was called into a meeting room. She was the first there and seemed like she was in the wrong place because she sat there alone for a while. Eventually, more girls started coming in and staff members too. A woman walked in and announced that they were going to be the WayV of TCG now. They would find more information out later but they needed to start getting to know each other now.

how do you feel about debuting?

— Frustrated. I have been a trainee for twelve years and am only debuting now. 

what do you want to achieve with tcg?

— I've wanted to be a singer my entire life. I want to achieve my life long dream. I just want to be on stage, lights turned low, everyone's attention on me while I sing. 

Do you have any personal goals as well?

— I just went over those

what do you think about the group's concept?

— It's annoying actually. Are you going to always be in the group? Are you going to be in one song, then not for a long time? Who knows. The roster is always changing so there is nothing to say, just because I'm in YueshenP that I will be in the songs. 

how are you going to survive living with a bunch of other girls?

— I've been living in the girls dorm. It will be fine

what do you think about nct? do you get along with your counterpart?

— They are just another group. We haven't done anything with them yet so we will find out. *rushed and she almost looks flustered*

Why did you remain as a trainee for so long? Isn't it uncommon for 25-year-olds to be trainees? 

— Isn't it uncommon for rude snobs to step out from under their mother's skirt?

first meeting. 

— When Zuji moved to Seoul Taeyong noticed her right away. She had sass and made people notice her, Taeyong included. He had to ask around about her before actually finding a reason to talk to her. He didn't really do it in the best form though.
Taeyong came into the building one day and saw that Zuji was in a training room by herself. He went in and asked if she was there for a picture because it was his room and she needed to leave. She turned to him, snapping and yelling. He threw his hands up and stepped back, trying to apologize. She crossed her arms and stood there.
Taeyong apologised again then asked for a do-over. He introduced himself and said that he had been trying to find time to introduce himself to her. She said her name then put her headphones back on and turn her back to him. She started singing again but he didn't leave right away.

development. 

— Over the next few weeks, which seemed like months to Zuji, Taeyong found time to stop by and say hi. He could tell it was annoying to her but he didn't want to stop.
Just after YueshenP first met each other Taeyong took Zuji's phone from her and added his number, just so she could ask any questions if she had any. She rolled her eyes and said she wouldn't. He had her number too and would randomly message her as well. It bothered her for the longest time but if he wouldn't message her she started worrying that something was wrong. Of course, she didn't tell him but she would be relieved when he did finally message her. 
When YueshenP had their debut stage Taeyong was there. He said it was because he had to support his sister group but he went and found Zuji after to tell her that he was there to see her achieve her dream and that as long as he has known her he knew she would make it. That made her blush and everyone called her out on it.

current status. 

— Zuji calls Taeyong out for the cheesy things he does and calls him a dork or an idiot all the time but he always responds with 'yes but I'm your dork'. She would often just make an exasperated face at him but she liked his response, it was as dorky as he was.
TCG all know that Zuji likes Taeyong. There isn't any girl who doesn't, even the mythic ice queen, none of the girls mention it though. She also knows that some of the others have a crush on him. It has never bothered her though, she always told her that if he ever had an interest in another girl she wouldn't mind.

ending. 

— Zuji often acts like she doesn't like Taeyong's attention but she does. She looks at him like her younger and that he is adorable but as he likes to say, he is her annoying idiot. She honestly loves that he is around, she refuses to use the 'l' word though. 

relationship trivia.

When he gets sleepy he gets very touchy-feely with Zuji. She would never, ever, ever say anything to anyone even under pain of death but she secretly very deep down loves it
