SM is fussy with her, much to her disdain, and she is pressured encouraged to watch her weight and looks. she has a sharp look about her, something very feminine and mature, looks wise and sm intends on her being a visual in the same route as victoria. she has an alluring sort of beauty.

      hayoon has a very "chill" demeanor about her. she's the type that easily makes friends and just as easily wanders around between all of the different groups of them. she gives off "good vibes" typically and makes her very approachable in social settings. she tries to be a person that everyone can come to if the going gets too crazy or tough. she is like the cool aunt that you can tell stuff to and she'll give you a pep talk and an oreo before sending you on your way.

       hayoon is naturally the type of person that people feel comfortable around. she has a good demeanor and gets along well with most people. she can talk to anyone, she isn't picky. she enjoys holding conversations and has a good sense of reading a person/their vibes.


witty :

           being as chill and level headed as she is, she doesn't have the worries or fusses of being socially anxious. she is able to have a natural sense of wit and humor about her and makes her good for variety shows. she tends to come in handy when a member gets flustered on set or gets too emotional during acceptence speeches. she likes to pick and joke with people and the wittier and more clever the remark or comment, the better, she thinks.

         hayoon may be "chill" and relaxed, but at times this leads to her forming a passive mindset on how she handles things. she has no desire to stir up trouble and with her laidback attitude, it mixes into a dangerous cocktail. she would much rather follow along than take the lead on things. she would rather be the transition into something than be the one the starts the idea or ends it. hayoon tends to not put her foot down in several aspects, leading to poor decisions. she lets herself not go through bad feelings and instead just passively waits until they build up and she has a breakdown.

          despite seeming pretty relaxed and friendly and down for adventures, she really doesn't have much confidence in herself, and it started as a kid, not just an sm trainee thing, but that certainly didn't help. she's always struggled to stand out or find something that could ber her thing because she had to compete with 2 siblings that were "perfect" and it took a toll on her. she is coy when asked about her talents, she doubts she has any, and isn't one to talk about how pretty she thinks she is (despite being both talented and pretty). she relies on her personality more than her talents or looks and stresses over how she could have possibly been street casted due to her looks. it makes her feel shallow, if she's honest. 

 

bckground.

    hayoon was born into a rather large family, already having two siblings when she arrived home in 1997. her parents weren't rich, but they had good, stable jobs and that was enough to keep the family afloat. she spent much of her childhood watching her siblings get praised for everything, something she would grow to desire as she grew older. her older sister was some sort of academic genius, earning countless awards and skipping grades and her older brother was born with some sort of magical athletic power and he, from an early age, excelled in all things sports related. it was a lot to take in, to say the least. 

        hayoon never felt like she was good enough at anything as a result. try as her parents would, she never stuck to anything. ballet wasn't her thing, she was an average student, and sports just didn't seem right to try. she grew into just going with the flow of things, and in an attempt to impress her parents, she and some friends jokingly signed up to be in a drawing at her middle school to enter a study abroad program. she wanted to get brownie points for her english class but she hoped that by signing up, her parents might be super impressed by the act. she never thought she would win though, and didn't actually plan to so when it was announed that she was one of 5 students in a school of 300 that got accepted, she was shooketh the say the least. she was terrible at english, and whats worse is that winning made her parents super excited so she couldn't just back out of it. so naturally, she packed up and headed to washington state in the u.s for a few years. when she came back, she seemed to have gotten a good grasp on the language and matured a bit, wanting to find her passion rather than just coasting by on life. 

      right on time, high school happened and her new passion to find a passion would lead her to try all the clubs and activites she could, only to decide that they weren't at all her thing two days later. the effort was enough though, she thought, and kept trying. eventually towards the middle of her freshman year, she found the choir club and once she opened , surprised not only her self but the teacher as well with her voice. she'd found her niche, and now she just had to figure out what to do with it. thankfully, as she was running late to school for the third time that week, she was stopped by a scout for an entertainment company. she didn't realize it and took the mans business card and kept running, but that was the start of a new life for her. after school that same day she remembered the card and began to look at it thoroughly. admittedly, she just thought it was some man passing out business cards for his new bbq place but was shocked to see the SM logo on it. her parents were happy at the thought and seeing their reaction encouraged her to go through with it and give the scout a call. once again, she didn't think she would make it past the audition but low and behold she did and wouldn't you know it she got into the rookie program a week later.

for the most part, her parents encourage the idol thing, but as she gets closer to debuting, she wonders if they want her to be an idol or just want her to succeed as an idol and have something to brag about. her siblings, both doing well in their own rights, are a bit jeaous of her for once, which she likes but she doesn't like going home to visit really, she thinks the tension is too much to bare. her grandmother is her go to person to call when she has a chance to.

hayoon and gaeul have an odd relationship. they aren't enemies, but they aren't buddies either. hayoon would be lying if gaeul and ol' johnny boy being practically attached at the hip didn't bother her, but she tries not to show it. it's not enough to dislike gaeul, but to certainly feel jealous here and there. they get along well enough, again, no animosity, but it is quite odd. hayoon and jaehyun often bond over whining to each other about how close johnny and gaeul are.

hayoon and meiyou are often thought to be some of the goddess visuals of the group, and naturally they come up in projects a lot. meiyou can't stand how low hayoon's confidence is in herself and is known to lecture her about it. meiyou simply wants to help hayoon and the others to shine as bright as they can and pushes hayoon to be more secure in her skin and talents. hayoon looks up to her despite being a year older. hayoon often states she wants to be closer to meiyou in interviews. .

since her trainee days, she's always been drawn to taeyong. granted, she was terrified to talk to him because of his looks (she figured he was some sort of idol already) and would always bow to him even when they were both just trainees. this confused him but eventually the confusion was cleared up and she felt more at ease. she goes to him for advice and also sends him aesthetic photos she takes of the eve members and vice versa. they're the ultimate pep talkers/instagram boyfriends for their respective squads.

these two attractive visual types are the same age and are both in their respective vocal lines. besides that though, they share the chill nature and the general friendliness aspects. she goes to him for advice a lot, too and he's the one that starting the hapeum nickname. completely platonic, but that doesn't stop a certain someone from getting a wee jealous.

while studying over in the states, hayoon had a sponsor family that she lived with (and her folks got a kid to house, etc.) and her family happened to be the Shin's. they were besties in middle school and stayed besties all the way up until now.  hayoon wants to save up enough money to buy laura a ticket to come to korea and see eve (and nct because that's who she would actually want to see-) in concert one day.

— hayoon tilted her head as she thought. eventually she chuckled at her own thoughts. "Honestly, I would like to try many different styles. i've never been partial to sticking to any one image, i want to be an idol of many faces."

— hayoon girlishly giggled, earning her stiffled laughs and whispers from the other girls in the trainee program sitting behind the camera. " i admire taeyeon for sure, i could never be that good at singing. the exo boys are on the list, too, of course. they're so handsome."

which songs from your seniors are you into these days?.

— hayoon took a seat on the training room floor. the question lingered in her mind a few moments longer before she nodded, catching the camera persons' attention. "I really enjoyed Red Flavor, but I also really like Cherry Bomb. Hyoyeon has had some really good music, too. I think my favorite stuff is Taemin's recent songs."

— while jaehyun started the whole hapeum nickname, johnny took it and ran a mile. so one is the reason it got started and the other is responsble for it sticking around. being himself, he apprached hayoon as soon as she was introduced into the prgram and began to chat her ear up, much to her delight as he spoke english. having not used it in a while, she was quick to try and keep up, mostly just listening to him talk. nowadays he follows her around and wont shut up about her. if he ever talks about wanting to look good or hoping that he looked good during a performance, it's in hopes that she was the one that saw him and thought he did. he flirts with hayoon literally ever 5th word he says to her, so much so that it just seems like an elaborate joke to those viewing it, despite everyone and their mothers knowing he actually does mean it, hayoon included. she enjoys the attention, often citing him as being her biggest fan. you know those looks that get meme'd into "get you a man that looks at you like.."? that's johnny to hayoon. when he isn't being extra about it all, there are some pretty tender moments between the two and joking aside, she really admires his confidence and likewise he hopes to inspire her to have more.

— hayoon does indeed have a thing for him, and if he weren't constsantly screaming his affections to literally everything, he might notice one of these days. somewhere down the line, maybe a year or two into the debut of eve and once eve and nct starting promoting at the same times and doing more interactions, hayoon's insecurities will get the better of her and she'll start to lose her colors and it'll be noticeable to everyone. she'll break down and cry during some EVNT family bonding thing and confide her her members and brother group members how she feels and ol johnny boy will be the first to pull her side and reassure her and it'll probably be from there that she would be like "i appreciate you so very much, thanks for always being my biggest fan when i wasn't my own." when the cameras aren't rolling, literally everyone would probs be "KISS HER BRO" and then lucas would make some innappropriate remark jokingly and then boom joyoon? ...JOHA!! it sounds like" johahaeyo" which means that you like something and they like eachother? so that's cute #joha
