PERSONALITY :　
At work, Hanbyul is an earnest worker, putting his best foot forward every single night when he works. He cares for the quality of his program and it is obvious in his strictness towards his co-workers and himself during the preparations. Once they are on air, his usual self would disappear and his radio dj persona, "Byul" would take over. He is an ambitious person, who is always aiming for more so he can't help but be opportunistic. Currently, his first priority is his career and he doesn't want anything to do with things that interfere with that. Despite being good at what he does, he is rather insecure and he always feels like he's not good enough. Praising him won't help because it will only make him too self-conscious.

Outside of work, Hanbyul is a generally quiet person. Towards strangers, he may appear shy but that is just how he usually is whenever he's out of work. It's not because he can't keep a conversation- he's good with small talk but he just doesn't see the point of starting one with a stranger. So, when it comes to making friends, Hanbyul is never the first one to make a move. Becoming his friend does not really take a lot of effort since his standards in considering someone his friend is pretty low. He is a good friend, willing to hangout anytime and willing to listen to their problems and stories. He also loves giving hugs to his friends. Once he's comfortable, he can get really clingy and though he does not say it in words, he expresses his affections through actions. As much as he is a good speaker, he is a good listener. As long as it's for a friend, he can listen to even the most boring story out there with open ears. He does not like sharing things about him though. He can talk about anything but himself. It makes him uncomfortable. Because it is a trait needed in his work, he is pretty observant and intuitive. When there is nothing to do, he would simply observe people curiously and by doing that, he feels like he learns more about a person or people.

One look and one can tell that he is rather disorganized when he's not at work. He cannot keep his own bedroom clean. He keeps losing his possession because he doesn't know where he ends up putting them. If someone wants to hangout with him, they are better off asking him out impulsively instead of arranging a time and date. He can't follow a schedule since he often ends up sleeping in. A close friend of him thinks it's a miracle that he can actually function normally at work ("It's not my fault my body clock is different."). He is also dishonest - he can lie with a nonchalant smile on his face. He is rather used to it and he thinks it's better to comfort other people with lies. Life is short so he just goes with whatever makes the majority happy. Arguing with him about this flawed logic will be pointless. He is stubborn and he hates losing arguments.

BACKGROUND :　
Hanbyul is the younger of the two sons from an average family in Incheon, South Korea. His mother is a housewife while his father is a doctor practicing family medicine. Being the younger son, he grew up like a shadow of his older brother, Hansoo, who is older than him by seven years. As a kid, he didn't mind. He wanted to be like his brother, smart, brave and loved by everyone. However, as he grew up, he realized that he would never be good enough. He was average, coward and barely noticed. He grew up to learn his place. His brother took education in college and became a teacher. A year after he got his job, he found a girlfriend who soon became his wife. On the other, Hanbyul who failed the university entrance exam, looked for part-time jobs after graduating from high school. His parents were not pleased when he told them that he not take another exam but Hanbyul already made a firm decision. They kicked him out of the house. Since they were all stubborn, they had not seen each other since then. His brother, not wanting to give Hanbyul too much pressure, supported him in his decision and even offered him a room in his house for Hanbyul to stay at. Hanbyul was glad but after a year of staying in his brother's house, he moved out and started living on his own. 

When he left the house of his parents at age 19, he was really uncertain about his future. He worked part-time as a convenience store cashier for more than a year until he got a job offer from a small radio station located in Incheon. The job offer he got was solely due to connections. His brother's wife worked at the radio station and she helped him in getting the job. Hanbyul started off as one of the assistants and he got his on-the-job training there. A couple of years later, a spot for a radio dj opened in another company located in Seoul and Hanbyul just knew that it was the perfect opportunity. He auditioned for the part and fortunately, got accepted. Things did not go as well as he planned though. Because the staff of the radio program thought that the show would be better with a female host, he had to pretend to be a female. His voice was rather high-pitched so it was not hard. The difficult part was that he had to hide his identity. The program only has him as the host. It's six-hour long (most of the time, he's just playing music) but there is a segment where he talks about various topics in life, mostly about love, and gives advice to the listeners. For now, he would do his best at work and enjoy his salary. However, he just hoped that one day, he would get an opportunity to quit such a job.

TRIVIA :

▸ He does not like being called cute and he hates it when people come up with "cute" nicknames for him.
▸ However, he does like cute things and cute people.
▸ His knowledge in cooking is enough for him to survive but not enough for anyone to praise his cooking. It's edible but meh.
▸ He likes his coffee black and he drinks it twice a day, once during lunch and once before he goes to work.
▸ He easily gets cold even when he's wearing long sleeves and a jacket.
▸ Whenever he speaks outside of his work, he speaks with a lower pitch. It soon became his natural speaking voice.
▸ He can't control his voice when he laughs and it's still high-pitched.
▸ He is not a food person. He thinks eating is such a task and sometimes, he falls asleep in the middle of a meal.
▸ He enjoys watching movies and he appreciates action, comedy, horror and thriller.
▸ He has three ex-girlfriends, one from highschool (who he dated for two years), two from the previous radio station (one lasted for three months while the last lasted for a year). He's still good friends with the latter two. So, he's not preaching in his program without experience.
▸ His favorite color is gray because it's simple.
▸ He is a weak drinker. He gets really talkative and clingy when drunk. It's really terrible so he avoids drinking as much as possible.
▸ He has a talent in drawing but he does not have the passion to work on it. He sketches when he's bored and there's nothing else to do (like when he arrives at work too early).
▸ As a radio dj, he knows all the latest music. He appreciates most genre and does not favor one from another.
▸ He can sleep anywhere whenever he wants to but he's a light sleeper so he wakes up just as easily.
▸ He hates exercising so he's pretty weak.

She would make kimchi from time to time and would ask Hansoo to give them to Hanbyul. She does not like expressing her affection for her children so much but she does care.

▸ father — Song Choseok (55) / Doctor / conservative, strict, stubborn / 6/10
He only wants what's best for his sons and he did not expect that Hanbyul would be so stubborn. He still hasn't contacted his youngest son ever since the latter left the house but he is more sulky than mad about it.

▸ older brother — Song Hansoo (30) / Highschool Teacher / mature, understanding / 8/10
His brother would visit him from time to time and would help out whenever possible but Hanbyul would never admit to himself that he appreciates him.

They are Hanbyul's beloved niece and nephew. He spoils them a lot everytime he meets them because he thinks they're the cutest.

They were from the same highschool and Jaegung is Hanbyul's sunbae. They were not pretty close then but after working together in the radio station, they became close.

question : Why did you choose this boarding house? what makes it special?

▸ "My main reason in choosing this boarding house is its ideal location. It's near to the place where I work and it's also near to different establishments and convenience stores. Since I don't have a car, I prefer staying in a neighborhood where I can survive without it. My previous place is not like that so I've been looking for a more convenient place. Here it is. As to what makes it special, that's something that I have to find out."

question : what house chores are you able and/or prefer to do?

▸ "I can do any house chores since I've been living by myself for years. You can't really survive nowadays without basic knowledge like that." That's a lie. He doesn't even know how to sweep the floor. The only thing he knows is cooking basic foods.

question : what time do you have to be at work? will you have enough time to relax inside the house?

▸ "I have work from twelve midnight until six in the morning but since I have to be there early, I will probably go there around eleven pm. Other than that, I have no other schedule so I will probably spend most of my time inside the house."

question : how much do you value privacy?

▸ "A lot. Privacy is very important."

question : If someone were to eat the food you kept in the fridge, what would you do?

▸ "That never happened before so I can't be certain on how I will react. I don't think I can do anything since the food's already gone." He will probably not notice it in the first place.
