Personality: Hana is a nice, friendly girl. She has superior singing skills (she was in her school's choir and had several solos) and great dance skills to match. Hana is shy and doesn't talk much when she's around people she doesn't know. But, when she's around close friends and family, she's loud, kind of crazy, and fun to be around. Hana is the type of person who sometimes laughs at things that sometimes aren't even funny (like, if you say something like 'bananas are yellow,' she might laugh). Hana is a bit of a picky eater. She is also very good in academics and is a straight Although Hana is very nice, good girls always have a bad side. Hana is sarcastic, and she often teases people. Hana gets to her bad side when people say bad things about the group, her family, people close to her, and just generally bad things. Hana is the type to holds a grudge. Sometimes, she doesn't even forgive the person. She is the type who stands up for those who are close to her. Hana is a bit of a pessimist and always thinks of the worst that could happen in every situation. Hana can be a bit annoying when she gets pessimistic. Hana is also a very neat and tidy person, and hates when things are messy and unorganized.  But overall, Hana is a very nice person. Hana cares about the members and observes a lot. Because of this, Hana can tell if they aren't feeling well. Hana was an ulzzang before auditioning to be in the group, so she still has a habit of pouting. looking at herself in the mirror a lot to make sure she looks good, and taking selcas (a lot). Because of these habits, some people think that Hana is also a bit conceited, although this is not true. 
 

Background: 

Hana's Background-

Hana was born into a rich family. Her mom, Sakamoto Nanami, was a successful model from Japan, but quit to focus on her fashion brand, 桜のの花天使, or "Cherry Blossom Angel." The brand, and its fashion store chain, are both very famous. Hana's dad who is a full Korean, Ryu Kibum, is currently the manager of a popular restaurant. Hana also has an older brother, Ryu Hyunmin, who is 18 years old. Hana and Hyunmin are very close, and are practically best friends. Hana's mom goes to Japan to work on her fashion brand, so the rest of the family only gets to see her 4 times a week, when she comes back to Los Angeles, where the family currently lives. Hana's family has always been very supportive of Hana's decision to go for a music career, and the family is very affectionate and caring towards each other.

Hana has always been a nice kid. But, she was bullied when she was in junior high by her sunbaes because of her successful family and skills. Since then, she's always been a bit cautious of who and who not to get close with, as the bullying she received was pretty severe.
