APPEARANCE since ahyeon began trainee life during a very start of her puberty, sm made sure to give her the proper treatment and education for her to grow into a fine young women. this allows her to maintain glowing, smooth and clear skin – 'glass skin' if you will. having always focused on skincare, ahyeon prefers not to wear make up, which often does frustrate others, being her manager and staff. hence, ahyeon has began applying a orange coral lip tint to make sure she doens't look 'dead'. body wise, ahyeon has always been slim and toned due to her active lifestyle and healthy appetite. her soft curves, large chest and hard muscle catches the attention of most; claiming the title of having one of the best bodies in sm. her thick locks have always been black and kept at a long length, her fringe being cut just under her defined cheekbones.

an obvious trait about ahyeon is that she avoids mentioning anything about her family background. she always leaves out how despite being born in england to both korean parents who have lived in london for half of their whole lives, she has never felt a single connection to the place. her family moved to korea when she was 7 due to financial issues and it has never been better for ahyeon. throughout her life, ahyeon felt as though he parents tried too hard to make her what they wanted her to be – a korean londoner. their forced influence made her feel suffocated. when ahyeon developed into her passion for dance seriously, it felt as though her parents chucked her into sm entertainment and left; when she turned fourteen, ahyeon's parents moved back to london due to their discomfort living in korea. ever since, their relationship has been strained, to say the least. ahyeon's parents send her money monthly, which she puts into her savings accounts and invests in them. this is mainly the reason why sm and performing means so much to her; because the abandonment she felt was filled in with a community, even if it is competitive and sometimes absolutely absurd with strict rules.

REACTION TO BOYCOTT initially ahyeon was frightened to the core; nearly in tears as she watched fans turn their backs on lumière. her one shot was beginning to cumple in front of her very eyes and the decade of her life wasted. however, it didn't take long for ahyeon to notice that this could easily be turned to their advantage (she's not a slytherin for nothing) with tactics and dedication. tears soon turn to smirks.

RED VELVET despite the rift, the girls of red velvet and ahyeon share a delightful friendship – irene, yeri and ahyeon often talk about idols and fashion, seulgi and ahyeon remain close friends while wendy, joy and ahyeon often talk about dieting and excercise.
seulgi and ahyeon are (basically) family and have been mistaken numerous time for biological sisters. having been together since the start, both of them would not hesitate to choose one another as soulmates. the two grew particularly close when they shared a room in the trainee dorm for over 4 years, especially since ahyeon had no close family in korea. during training, the two were considered friendly rivals due to their similar vocal colour and focus in dance. when red velvet were set of debut, seulgi felt the most guilt leaving her friend behind. however they continue to remain close by going on 'dates' and communicating through their private kakaotalk chatroom.
LUMIÈRE as close as the girls seem on camera, there are some unspoken tensions about ahyeon and whether or not she still wishes to debut with red velvet. the girls are aware of ahyeon's level of talent and knowledge about the industry and know her ambitions – they are also aware that ahyeon would be doing better if she had debut with red velvet. seeing how close ahyeon is with red velvet, some girls do feel threatened; some try to be closer to ahyeon, others put aside their worries. on the other hand, ahyeon doesn't worry too much about these tensions as she confidently chooses lumière over red velvet. logically, seulgi and her would be too strong on stage together and there would be an unconscious battle for the spotlight. emotionally, ahyeon has seen these girls grow and nurture each other and herself – ahyeon would never want it any other way.
jangmi and ahyeon share a close bond due to their knowledge of english. since they were trainees, it has been a running gag to speak in english to make sure they don't forget the language. with ahyeon naturally being more docile, they don't share as strong of a friendship as jangmi does with the 'foreign swaggers' (a team that ahyeon does get rather jealous of and wishes she was cool enough to join but never was). it is only when they debut with lumière that they grew closer due to ahyeon catching jangmi crying in the shower. on screen, their closeness is shown through ahyeon's sudden willingness to cling to the taller figure, which later on fans lovingly dub as koala and the tree.
