never considered the most conventionally beautiful, hwayoung always had more specific and unique physical qualities that made her stood out, which unfortunately coined her as the visual hole of lumiere. always been known as the tall girl with the great body porportions, hwayoung know stands at 170cm, visibly the tallest amongst the girls. she has long limbs and an even upper body to lower body ratio. she was born with the genes to produce long medium-brown hair that frames her rather large face (which was taken care of prior to debut), that she cut into bangs right before debut. with a elongated neck most people kill for, her rather large-sized head (or atleast her sister says so) sits on top adorning with unique features. she has rather large eyes that are almost almond-shaped, giving her a eye smile people love with her beauty mark as a point directly under her left eye, she's also known for having pretty big, rounded ears and really high cheek bones. right now she is sporting a faded, once vibrant orange hair after lumiere's russian roulette promotions.
STYLE hwayoung is not that much of a difficult girl (or so she thinks) and she tends to show that in her personal styling. she dresses pretty much like a normal 18-year old would, just with a dash of boyishness. hwayoung is a penny-tee and jeans all year 'round kinda gal. if you googled lumiere's airport fashion you'd find pictures of hwayoung in jeans, pretty much always. she's the type to not spend a lot of money on complicated clothing, but rather by simple, sturdy, trusty everyday pieces that would last her a long time. that's why you'd be underwhelmed by her closet at the dorm. she doesn't even take much space up as she just needs simple, but cool tees, a variety of type of jeans, maybe a cap or two, and some stylish jackets and her vans or adidas that go with everything and she's good to go. now that doesn't mean she doesn't love cute clothing and feminine styling, especially her stage outfits. she finds them cute, but enjoys practicality more. x

im hwayoung, lumiere's mood. it's safe to say that im hwayoung is usually the life of the party on and off camera.
she's charming and energetic. being an enfp, hwayoung is a true extrovert; while usually being the life of the party, she's often not caught up in the excitement but instead the social and emotional connections she easily makes with people. social butterfly is confirmed in her contacts, this girl has lots of friends. she should as she is impossibly comfortable around people. so comfortable that people just tend to draw to her, extroverted and introverted. hwayoung is the type of person to be deeply involved in her friend's lives. as the selfless and compasionate person she is, she always puts her loved ones first, even if she forgets to take care of herself. she really is the type to not notice when she's pushing herself until it's too late; she usually is too fired up or too focused to realize.

born on a snow-filled day, hwayoung was born at the crack of dawn in feburary of two thousand to an already established family of a husband, wife, and daughter, making her the youngest of her family. she was a pretty active child that grew up normal for the most part, her parents letting her take up many activites to soak up all the energy she had. but it wasn't until her first year of middle school that she joined a kpop cover dance class and fell in love with it. she never had any dance lessons, but she clearly had the most skills out of the cover group. enough that her friends even suggested that she audition for a company.growing up she had never really dreamt of being a singer or being famous. she didn't know what she wanted to be yet, but being encouraged by her friends, she did it. hwayoung went pretty big too, auditioning first for the biggest companies with cube, pledis, jyp, but no such luck until she auditioned with sm entertainment.

honestly hwayoung was never meant to be a rapper. she had first auditioned to sm as a dancer, dancing being her strong suit compared to her pretty voice but lack of singing skills. she was one of the trainees that had to start at the bottom. she wasn't a trainee that was really strong in one skill. she wasn't considered a naturally talented trainee. she had to work for a spot. after about a year training under, sm thought that with hwayoung's lack of vocal talent, but strong persona and unique visuals that she would be best suited for rap. even though hwayoung has never rapped a day in her life, she would say starting rap classes was the best thing that happened to her. while she had to be thought how to rap, she had natural talent for the articulation and the flare she needed to do so. she even explored writing lyrics while being a trainee, though she wasn't the best. she wrote her own lyrics couple of times for monthly evaultions and they were okay at best, but the way she went about rapping it is what made her stood out.
REACTION TO BOYCOTT upon first reaction, hwayoung was definitely one of the members that focused on reassuring the others. she was the one giving out hugs, wiping away tears, and patting shoulders. was she hurt and upset? of course she was. who wouldn't be? but being that she is the strongest individual in lumeire, phyisically and mentally, she didn't have a lot of tears to cry about it. though it was quite obvious the toll it took on her as she wasn't as outgoing and bright during this period. was she optomistic? no. did she tell the other girls everything would be okay? hell no. because being the realist she is, she didn't believe in that. she finds it annoying when jangmi tells them everything is gonna be okay or to not worry about what people are saying without sound or reason or a game plan. if anything, the experience of a boycott sparked something in hwayoung. she needed a game plan on how to prove themselves, herself.

2000 liners. some of hwayoung's closest friends, and not surprising since she pretty much is friends with anybody her age or close. obviously, the five of them met during training at sm, but hwayoung's first ever friend at sm was donghyuck. they actually auditioned on the same day as each other and got along then. and then she got close to jeno, and then jaemin as a result, and lastly renjun. the five of them have a group chat called the sm's superior 00's. they often joke around with each other as friends tend to do, especially with the dreamies being guys, they like to tease hwayoung all of the time. especially donghyuck and jeno. jaemin is more of the friend she likes to lean on from time to time; he's always giving her advice or a good listening ear. she's not as close to renjun as she is to the other three, which results in those two being awkard whenever they are hanging alone.

moon jangmi. #hwami couple, the superior group pairing. maybe even the most popular. hwayoung would say that jangmi is her closest friend in lumiere. despite a slight age difference, the two are kinda similar. with jangmi's sociaable and sunny personality, along with hwayoung's equally sociable and easy going personality, the two had no problems getting along. fans call them the tom and jerry couple. hwayoung being hwayoung and jangmi being gullible, she is constently picking on jangmi just to get a rise out of her. and trust, jangmi will give her that rise. seven times out of ten, the two are together, especially with how jangmi is super clingy. whether it's sitting next to each other on the plane or doing a vlive together, the two easily have fun. though they aren't exactly each other's soulmates, and they do have differences. for example, jangmi can't stand how realist hwayoung is and hwayoung can't stand gullible and easily distracted jangmi is. but at the end of the day, they easily would call each other their favorite member and the rest of the girls know.
