APPEARANCE & style — Same as his face claim. He is 1.85 m tall with 68 kg. Fenghuang has single eyelid and imposing body. He looks awe-inspiring especially when he holding his bow. Fenghuang beneath his cloth, have a lot of scar from all his training and also the punishment he got. However, he never told anyone about it. Fenghuang when in Xuexing will always choose black or red as his cloth. And most of the time he likes this colour too. However, in Jingyue, he will wear white or brown. He not much fancies this colour but he can’t deny he looks good in any colour. On top of all, Fenghuang dislikes complex hairstyle and accessory, thus he keeps it simple and comfortable. His cloth mostly likes what Deng Lun wear in Ashes of Frost. Those costume is really good and suits him.

Fenghuang can be seen as a calm type of person. He is not someone who jumps into conclusion without thinking and prove. He got his own plan for everything. Start from learning under Xuexing until his decision to kill the student and hurt the elder to the infiltration to Jingyue. All of it his own plan that he carefully manages others to makes sure his destination. He is charismatic that in Xuexing and even in Jingyue, all look up to him. His skill is not something people of his age can manage to cultivate. This spark a few fits of jealousy stare at him. He is intuitive and learns everything fast. Talk about him have the best physical and mental to learn martial arts. He also knows when he in trouble and will avoid it. He knows when he can do his mission to seek Jingyue weakness and not. Even though Fenghuang mostly think about himself, he also keeps a little part of him for others. He won’t allow anyone close and dear for him to get hurt and he surely will repay it. For him, it’s okay if he is the one who gets hurt but not others.

In people eyes, Fenghuang is ambitious and he himself agrees on it. He has his own target that is to become Xuexing leader. He will do anything to be one. In Jingyue, he is his mentor favourite since he always works hard in learning martial arts. Fenghuang never keeps what he thinking away. He will always say something that needs to be said. People think he has no secret due to his outspoken personality. However, he got a hell of a secret that he keeps. Fenghuang is a calculative person. He will always think what happens if he did this and he did that. His mind got a lot of scenarios that he can use to get away from something. When planning something, he always has a lot of plan if A didn’t work, he will go with B but that not the end, he always has at least 5 plans. For him, things that he is his and it are not shared.

He possessive to his stuff and never allow anyone to enter his room to even clean his room. But his room is clean enough that everyone doesn’t know how to clean it. To people he especially extra possessive, he doesn’t mind to claim people as his and if anyone touch or do anything beware of him. He manipulative and can control people and you won’t know it. People follow his order to do something and even though it bad. He can make everything to follow his own way. Coming from Xuexing, Fenghuang is deceitful. No one suspects him and he can make people suspect others instead. He can without blinking an eyelash, lies to everyone. No one even notices his Xuexing martial arts. This is how he can survive in Jingyue despite him being from Xuexing. His bad personality to the top is he is selfish. He does things that can only benefit him. He is not the one who will aid to others unless he will get something from it. Thus he being friendly with others is all because they will help him in some way.

likes —
- Fenghuang likes to be alone. Most of the time people can find him in the forest taking his nap after finishing his training.
- Animal. How bad he is, animal likes him and so does him.
- Likes his food and water cold. No one serves him hot tea or he might get angry. He got cat tongue. He can’t handle hot food and water or his tongue will scald.
-Like fragrance and use fragrance as his weapon. As for him, a sense of smell can help him enhance power and also put poison. However, he also likes a normal fragrance used by people. Bingqing’s fragrance is also one of his favourites. Her fragrance smell like reading an old book in the morning occupied with spider lily. In another word, Bingqing smell fresh like morning especially after snowing, spider lily is her original fragrance while an old book is due to the smell of a book that she always read. Talking about this, Fenghuang smell like sandalwood and the earth after rain with a hint of berries. Sandalwood comes from fragrance he always uses in his room, while rain as he always likes to stay out to watch rain and berries is his favourite.

dislikes —
- People enter his room and touching his stuff. Mostly to keep his secret but he also just plainly dislikes it.
- Un-benefit people. People who do not benefit for him and his mission. He is choosy in his friend and closes with people who can help him.
- People touching his hair. Fenghuang dislikes difficult and painful hairstyle. He prefers his hair simple and easy to manage.
- Asking about his past. Fenghuang dislikes talking about past especially when his past is just his lie that he created. He probably barely remembers his past that he spoke off.
- Someone waking him up. Fenghuang doesn’t sleep much. He sleeps only as much as he needs. So he hates when people disturb his rest and might even give a death glare. If there anything, no one dares to wake him up.
 

TRIVIA —
- He guards the blank point of Jingyue. One as he is skilled enough. Two as it is easier for him to communicate with Xuexing from that path. No one knows the second reason.
- Fenghuang actually comes from a rightful sect that being terminated by Xuexing due to some personal grudge of the former leader. He never knows about this and no one told him about this. Some of the elder who stayed with former leader know. If you want to go this path and reveal this, Fenghuang’s grandfather actually used to be the lover of the former leader. However, the former leader didn’t want to stop learning Xuexing martial arts and also ended up killing his grandfather childhood friend also junior sect. With this, he ended up cutting all ties with her. Both go on their way but the former leader still leaves him and want him. But the elder of the sect fight her and torture her. This leads her to fled and learn Xuexing martial arts way harder to takes his revenge. It is the ascension of Fenghuang’s grandfather to be the leader that Xuexing former leader comes and crash the party killing everyone.
- Fenghuang has a high tolerance for alcohol. You can fight with him and he will mostly win.
- Fenghuang actually has a few admire that when he practices archery, the student from other elders will end up filling the place to see.

SKILLS — 
 

In Xuexing, Fenghuang can be said as the master of archery. He learns to use all type of weapon but he masters archer better. His main weapon is his bow and arrow that he receives from the former leader. And he carries it along with him to Jingyue taking Elder Tan as his mentor. He has sharp eyes and a steady hand that makes Elder Tan accept him after see his archery skill. And he also doesn’t hesitate and choose Elder Tan as his first choice.

His second best weapon is a sword. Xuexing and Jingyue come from the same origin, so Fenghuang learns how to use sword since he in Xuexing and further his skill with Jingyue style. Fenghuang most of the time carry his sword since it easier to bring and use in an emergency. He has a little habit of not taking out his sword from its case since he doesn’t want to showcase his sword skill much.

Learning under Elder Tan makes him need to have a third weapon. His third weapon is a fan. In people eyes it just something trendy he always brings with him. However, it hides a secret weapon in it. Normally it can be used to replace a sword. Secretly it carries a secret weapon with lethal poison.

Fenghuang also cooperates fragrance as his weapon. Using sense of smell, he created a fragrance that can put people to sleep, makes people forget, and even poison them. He personally learns this to counter Gu Poison of Elder Xu. He thinks even before Elder Xu can poison him, he can use smell that travels far to poison her.

Fenghuang fighting skill is more controlled especially in front of others Jingyue students. He doesn’t want others to know his own real skill except for his archery skill. Archery skill can’t show where he comes from but sword skill can. Learning from both sects, Xuexing and Jingyue, Fenghuang real skill combined of two sects. The bloodthirsty from Xuexing and the calm from Jingyue are what made his skill right now. This is why he always keeps his sword skill in check.

The past is the past.

background —

He is just four years old. In midst of hundreds of corpse, he crawled out. It is a sight to behold of an extermination of a sect by Xuexing pagoda. Seeing how he still alive even after everything happens to everyone in his family and sect, the former leader delighted. She decided and brought him to the Xuexing pagoda and trained under her guidance.

“He rises from the dead. Like the ashes. Have the constitution of the fire and good for training. From now on, he will be called Fenghuang. Phoenix”

Fenghuang trained under the former leader of Xuexing and the last student of the former leader. Six years learning under the former leader, at the age of ten, he watches how the current leader kills the former leader. Seeing this scene he promises to get the position back from the ungrateful senior of his. He put all his time into learning and learns faster than others and become powerful at a young age. By the age of fifteen, he becomes one of the best students of Xuexing. And his growth scares the elder of Xuexing. 

Things go bad when a few of student of Xuexing died without known. And even some of the elder attacked and severely wounded. The technique that used is of Xuexing and not many people who great enough to wound the elder. This lead for them to speculate maybe Fenghuang is the one beyond this. But he states that he has an alibi as when that happens, he supposed to meditate in the cave with a few students guarding. And listening to the student who guarding, Fenghuang is not the one who did it.

Elder Xu becomes aware of him and the other elder too. They speculate since Fenghuang is the son of the leader of the rightful sect, he might be the one and overthrow Xuexing even with the proof. They also scared if Fenghuang learns what happens to his family. However, he never thought about it since what he wants is to overthrow the current leader of Xuexing and repay his teacher who saves him years ago. While everything that happens, just merely a ploy of him.

The elders come to Elder Xu and they talked about this. They suspicious of Fenghuang but he has a strong alibi to back him. Thus to satisfy the elders and herself, she orders Fenghuang to infiltrate Jingyue. She wants to learn Fenghuang true intention and see if Fenghuang is the one who kills the student and wound the elders. He thinks Fenghuang is valuable with his great skill thus decline to kill him yet. And if his heart into destroying Xuexing she will kill Fenghuang along with Jingyue. However, she never learns the true intention of Fenghuang who actually want to kill her and lead Xuexing.

Fenghuang enters Jingyue at the age of fifteen. The setup of sending him to Jingyue is what he been aiming for since he started to plot by killing few of Xuexing student and hurting the elders. After heard he not chosen to infiltrate Jingyue, he put this plan. This is because learning under Xuexing destroying him and since he learns faster than others; his life is on the thread. Thus entering Jingyue, in which is in the same roots of martial arts as Xuexing, can help him prolong his life. By prolong his life and enhance his skill, he can kill the leader of Xuexing and become the next leader.

After he leaves, to avoid suspicion of him being the one who kills the student and hurt the elder, he still did the killing silently. He will go back to Xuexing when he can and kill a few of the student. Once he thinks it is enough, he put all the blame [as he planned] into another student that has a bad history before entering Xuexing. This remove all suspicion on him.

In midst of his personal mission, he never forgets his official mission. He never fancies or sides with Jingyue. He never cares which one dies first. If the leader of Xuexing dies first, it will be in his hand. And if the extermination of Jingyue, he wants to become the one who leads Xuexing. Five years and he is still on his mission. Still counting how long he can live and how long before he can attain a way to prolong his life.

▪ Their relationship is simply leader and subordinate. But truthfully, it is also in term of an enemy. More can be known in the background. Fenghuang is targeting to be the next leader and wants to kill Elder Xu. Elder Xu is suspicious of Fenghuang motive but she didn’t sure either for revenge over his family or just merely to stole the leader position and also maybe both.

▪ Fenghuang chooses Elder Tan as his mentor as he knows Elder Tan good with archery. He wants to hide his other skill except for archery that he can’t fake. Under Elder Tan, Fenghuang can utilize his archery skill more than other skill. Being good in archery, of course, he got an attention from Elder Tan when he first enrols in Jingyue. Without thinking much, as he calculated and investigate enough, he chooses to go for Elder Tan at first choice. Fenghuang skill makes Elder Tan sometimes leave the teaching to him, especially in archery. This somehow making others listens to Fenghuang.

▪ Both of them actually not that close as people always differentiate both of them. It's like the attraction of good and evil. It's also like either follow Wusheng of Fenghuang. People set them both as rival but they never fight in combat. However, they actually acknowledge each other.

However, in another view, the nemesis work also to watch over Fenghuang as Elder Xu want to evaluate Fenghuang worthiness. They help each other to fulfil the mission of obtaining the secret of Jingyue. Personally, they did not close at all as the nemesis knows about Fenghuang background.

relationship 

Their first meeting is when Bingqing stumble to the entrance of The Valley of Jingyue while Fenghuang waiting for the new student under order from his mentor. He at first really thinks that she is the new student but later he knows it is his mistake for not listening to what Bingqing said. But everything turns good since Bingqing stays at Jingyue.

Being someone who at wrong, he can’t help to watch over Bingqing. It’s not something he needs to do since they didn’t share the same mentor, but he did out of the known. He will help her learning and also cheer her when she homesick. He will bring her to the back of the mountain where they can see Firefly and also teach her archery. He isn’t supposed to do this but he just did it.

In this relationship, Fenghuang knows he should not approach Bingqing since there is nothing good for him. But he just can’t help it when Bingqing always ended up alone. There no selfish side in this relation for Fenghuang as it purely interest. How much he tries to push her away and act cold, he is the one who ended up approaching Bingqing. Like Bingqing is Fenghuang personal nemesis.

comments/questions — Actually I want to go for the nemesis plotline. But when creating Fenghuang, I make him have a background of a good person and also his target to overthrow the leader of Xuexing. In my eyes, the nemesis is faithful to the leader while Fenghuang is not. That's why I choose with the wanderer. What do you think about it? You can grow him to be good or be bad. 
I'm actually want to see anyone apply for the scholar since I added that plotline to my character. If no one applies, would you like for me to apply that one too? I actually got a nice face claim for that plotline.
