When being single gets you discriminated

I'm single. Yes I am.

But is being one equals more money and more time?

NO!!!

I have been to countless patient transfers based on the "reason" that I don't have kids or family to go home to early. Well for me, that's bull. We are paid the same rate and have the same  work description but why do they always use my being single as a reason for them to escape their responsibilities? I live with my mom and sister and it means that we take turns in doing chores like cleaning, cooking and groceries. Aren't those also enough reason for me to  go home early on time? I had been sacrificing a lot of my time for overtime but I'm not being paid for that. Isn't that too much?

Another thing is that, why do they always assume that just because I am single, it means that I have more money than my collegues with families?

Do I not eat? DoI not need to buy necessities? Do I not have bills to pay?

Am I just working my off just to fill my wallet and bank account? And they even have the guts to raise their eyebrows when I explain that for the mean time I am in charge of all the expenses at home because we are tight on money. Total bull.

Ever since I started working I have been discriminated because of my status, and those mentioned above are for me the two most insulting and annoying things I have encountered.
