Updated: "Footprints in the Snow"

Hey Everyone!

So I made this to show you guys the edited version of my Poem Footprints in the snow, (You can also see the new version in the description of "Twisted"

Here it is!:

"Footprints in the Snow"

I remember the laughter, the jolly screams of joy...
I remember the smiles, that always stayed on our faces...

I remember looking out the window just to see white specks of snow,
Creating a beautiful blanket of snow just outside my window,
I remember us calling out with glee, as we ran out
with huge smiles, that could split our faces,

Do you remember, the many snowball fights we had?
Do you remember losing track of time, and staying out till 10 at night?
I do, I remember, Everything.

Even, as the seasons passed, like the wind, and Days turned to years,
Time never stood still, but yet I wished it did,
From the hot days of summer to the colorful Autumn leaves to
the snow-covered Winters, and to the sweet smell of flowers of Spring.

Winter stood out to me,
From Snow days to sledding down our neighborhood hill.
And when it got too cold, that our hands turned to ice,
We stayed indoors, with Hot Chocolate by the fire,
The joy, of opening, presents on Christmas morning,
It was more than just snowstorms and ice cold temperatures to me
It was the time I was our memories, the times when I was happiest,

But one day, the snow melts, and spring comes, the snow washes away,
and so does, our smiles, our laughter, And our childhood Memories,

Years passed like the first morning of spring,
And one winter, When I looked back to you again,
All I saw emptiness,
Gray clouds,
When I looked for you, all I saw was my shadow,
As I bent down, only one clue that you were ever there,
and that was… The footsteps that your boots made...

The Footsteps in the Snow...

Dedicated to, My younger cousin Jordan, he's only a year and a half younger than me.

You can tell me what you think the actual poem is about, but it tells a pretty bittersweet story.

But in my eyes;
It tells a story of two children having fun in the snow, their childhood full of laughter and fun,
and the speaker (me?) is saying that winter is their favorite season.

To them, It was the season with the most memories, childhood memories,
Before growing up, before high school, before girlfriends/boyfriends,
it was about being kids, building snowmen, making snow angels and sledding down hills.

--
At first, I actually didn't notice what I was writing about, (or who I writing it for,)  till after I wrote it.
above is how I visualize the story of this poem... But I will also leave it to interpretation since that is what I intended anyway.

It's sad in a sense because I can tell, that it's my point of view of what happened to our relationship. We were once closer when we were kids, compared to the way we are now, and I knew even then, just in my heart, that it wasn't going to last. But still, we will always be family, my very first cousin. But he's no longer my best friend, which in a way, he was once.
