CHAPTER I.

and his mother's face would have been one of great disappointment.
because she was a woman of lost dreams. a woman wishing to be a star but her back suffering from the overworking of her own body. she's someone who had dreamed of having a daughter that would continue her broken dreams, and they'd be an extension of herself.
but instead, she gets a boy. and even despite all her wants, this waas still her child. and she loves him ( as much as she wished he could have been a pretty little girl instead ). he wasn't aware of this until he stared to go to school. because the first few days his mother would add cute little clips on his locs and the boys would for it. he refused to have her clip his hair again but when he did she gave him a look ( i gave birth to you and tok you n even though you're not what i wanted and this was how you repaid me? ). he ended up continuing to wear the pins and tried to ignore his bullies.
he thought that when father was around, then maybe things would get better. he barely met him even when he was young ( he could count the days they've met with both hands ) and he realized in those moments that the man would do nothing baout the odd dynamic that mother and he had.
soon enough, he's realized his family's different. they weren't the same as others and he couldn't fully understand it yet. but he knew they were oddities, and yet they were still his parents. that's why he loved them.

because he craved to be a happy child, so why not be one? he didn't need his life's situation to make himself happy ehn he could do it for himself. that was the logic he had at that time, so he started to lie.
he lied about his family but kept it close to reality. just merely hid certan information and only let the good things out or deflect the topic about family. he puts up a grin of cheer despite the ugly envy in the pit of his stomach as he listened to his friends talk about their so very loving family. he pretended and made it seem as sif everything was fine.

the instructor is surprised by his willing nature and the fact he's a boy, but she comments on how he was such a nice boy to go along with his mother's wishes ( despite how odd it was to the instructor, but she was not adversed in noticing the fake tones to their smiles ). so then began the life of him learning how to dance ( all because that used to be his mother's talent, the idol who would have been like stephanie kim with her background in ballet ).
what surprised him, though, was that as the music played and the woman began her lesson, he felt alive. there's something about moving to the beat, letting his body move gracefully to the harmony, and the symphony of a performance, dancing, and music all into one that left him desiring for more. and when he asked the instructor if she could give them a bit of a show and she complied, he had been stuperfied. the fluidity of her dance, her grace as she showcased much more advanced moves, her expressions that projected the music—
he lost his breath, and all he could think was how he wanted to be like her. it was an art, different from drawing on paper with colored crayons, and he thought that he may have just fallen in love ( with dancing ).
what started as his mother pushing bits and pieces of her dreams onto him had been the beginning of a blooming desire to be on stage. it was a blessing in disguise, and he wanted to cherish it.

he’s merely sixteen years old and he was already shining. the people around him had already felt that the boy was meant to be a star. they claimed him to be one who had the potential to be a wondrous star remembered throughout the ages. and that’s the portrayal that people believed in, the kindness and cheer of a sunshine boy. people would say that his parents raised him eight and he’d laugh ( a fake laugh ) in return as he nodded and agreed ( wondering briefly if they’d say the same if they knew who his parents really were ).

despite that, there was still a maturity to him. he understood well about things, did not make too much of a fuss and reliably took it with stride. the teen had eyes of the old, one that was knowing and but tolerated anything thrown in his way. despite his age, he was so much like a young man that knew all too well that childish tantrums did nothing but worsen the situation. at times you see his maturity in the way he would handle the others when it came to helping them dance ( a patience with the others, not mad whenever there was a mistake but calmly teaching them how to fix it even though he needed to repeat it so many times more ). other times it showed when even as he made a mistake on stage, fell to the floor in front of millions of eyes, he goes back up with grace and continued the show.
there’s charisma to him, this young one who was so much more than he initially showed himself as. it was at its peak when on stage, though, wherein he enveloped it with his presence despite his small stature. despite the limitations of being in a group, he still attracted the attention and took control of it with such mastery that one would wonder how long he had been on stage to master such a technique. even though he was the youngest ( or maybe it was because of the shock of how he seemed to be beyond his years and yet so young ) he easily set people’s eyes on him. with his social nature and brightness, being casual but rarely overly so, he brought a charm to him that sm was definitely giddy about to have as one of their own.
ah yes, he was quite the talkative one. he liked to socialize with others, even the more quiet ones, and the words would burst out of him in succession. even with all his maturity and the sort, he was still so young and loved to talk his heart out. of course, it could get excessive, but usually if one inquired for him to slow down and stop for a second, he would ( though you have to repeat the action because he tends to get unto the conversation and start up his engines once again ). there’s also his nonchalance and brisk cheeriness that showed so prominently with friends. it could be quite uncomfortable for the older members, though, because sometimes he took a step too far without really meaning to. loke with his talkative nature, it was best to inform him a few times before things get bad.
