—  nekosuki ; 好き  this nickname is related to her fellow classmate bakugou katsuki. since katsuki sounds like "cat-suki" which is an english pun invented by kaminari denki and hori's a cat, some of her playful classmates begin to call hori "nekosuki" as the partner of "katsuki" (they are close and are often seen together). yes, the powerful suki duo of class 1-a.

—  fat cat, stupid cat ; 太った, ばかな  called by bakugou, yours truly. no reasons needed, he calls everyone by dumb nicknames.
—  zaki-chan ; ザキちゃん   a short form of her last name but also an adorable nickname of hori among her classmates. used the most by the female students, kirishima, kaminari and sero. 
—  princess bubblegum ; プリンセス・バブルガム  popular for being u.a academy's one of the most prettiest girls among with chidori fujikawa, yaoyorozu momo and kendo itsuka, hori's notably known for her pink hair that boys often find to be attractive. pink and beautiful just like princess bubblegum from the cartoon adventure time. hence, she's princess bubblegum in real life to many of them.

APPEARANCE. "彼女はきれいだ—。"  (she is beautiful — the cat...)  hori is a glamorous young lady with a cat-like appearance. beautiful, straight long cherry-blossom-colored hair reaches the middle of her back, a wide forehead covered with bangs and thick pink eyebrows, dreamy cyan eyes and natural cat-like pinkish-red eyeliner that charms anyone who looks into those sparkling pupils, a tall nose, thin lips that are shaped like a heart with a natural orange-ish color. her body is shaped like a perfect hourglass and curves.

she has ginger cat ears on her head instead of having normal ears like a normal human and a cat tail behind. her teeth are sharp and the fangs are visible. hori's pupils are very much just like a cat's. when she's neutral, they are normal but when she's feeling excited, they become wider! also when she feels scared lolol. when hori is aroused, they become narrow and the pupils' shape changes varies on her mood.

FASHION STYLE. "ファッショニスタ。" (fashionista) hori wears everything that the school uniform requires female students to wear but instead of putting her blazer on properly and such, she's a bit more... revealing and messy? the first two buttons of her shirt aren't buttoned though she wears the red tie around her neck neatly. she doesn't button her blazer as well and you can see that the pink princess doesn't even bother to tuck her shirt inside the skirt but seriously, who would do that, right? hori's skirts are also a bit shorter than of those of a typical u.a skirt and she wears white knee-high socks.

talking about her fashion style, the cat definitely loves to keep herself up-to-date. tank tops or revealing crop-tops with aesthetic texts or designs on them paired with skirts, leather pants or shorts, revealing her perfect s line and slim legs. chokers, choker garters, silver bracelets and necklaces. just imagine those y, aesthetic and fashionable instagram models!

ELABORATION. "mineta wants to date me? ugh, as if!" often you would find hori standing next to mina ashido, kaminari denki or kirishima ejirou because she belongs to their pack—the loud kids of class 1-a. the sociable queen who is very loud and talkative, hori enjoys the festival atmosphere so if you would rather spend time alone than to stick with your noisy classmates then it's best to stay away from hori. her personality is a bit similar to mina though unlike the girl who's always smiling, hori always has a pout on her face. she's popular, always surrounded by people and she was born to be the center of attention. hori's passionate and animated, most students love hanging out with her because she's surprisingly approachable and quite friendly despite being a massive tsundere. 

one bakugou katsuki is enough, i know! but not an ordinary tsundere but this one also happens to be a loveable alpha . hori's rather picky and judgmental, it's not easy to please the girl and if they were to go on a mission to a filthy or moist place, 90% she would give up or wouldn't stop complaining along the way. "ew! is this real?? this is so not my style, it has such a kaminari vibe!" "you saying i'm disgusting??" the fact that she is awfully honest as well and while it's not entirely a bad thing, hori tends to hurt others' feelings with her brutally honesty. well, she has this type of love-hate relationship with almost everyone and hori really likes to win in arguments but she isn't a stubborn girl so if she figures out that she's wrong, she'll just grumpily shut and she doesn't need her classmates to about that yet they just have to. along with bakugou, they really love to poke the tsunderes and get yelled at but instead of going in full rage like bakugou, hori would react with more sass and hair flips. typical arrogant and short-tempered girls!

"... you know i can't do it, right?" because hori walks with her head high, confidently giving people a charming smile that makes everyone fall for her, that doesn't mean she is that much of a confident person. definitely confident about her looks but hori's actually a very insecure girl. similar to yaomomo, she doesn't believe in her abilities in dealing with difficulties so hori rather relies on other people to guide her and lets them do most of the thinking. hence, she isn't really good at making up her mind and final decisions which are slowing hori down since a hero needs to be confident in their plans. she's known among her friends for being the one to give up easily and tends to avoid the hardship. hence, not many people believe in her and underestimate hori but the truth is, she is much more than that. hori's an intelligent girl who still hasn't figured out how to use it as an advantage yet. she's observant and cautious in every situation, thanks to her paying attention to little details and such, hori's able to think of a safe and effective plan that definitely works for herself though this is only applied as hori's last solution when there's no one else besides her to rely on.

hori cries easily and gets scared easily as well, she isn't good at hiding her emotions so you will be able to figure out whether she is happy, mad, sad or concerned. one great thing about hori is that no matter how scared she is, she will still rush in to save the person she loves and this is why she's chosen as a hero. she has no idea what's going on, she is scared and knows that both of you might end up dying but it's worth a chance to save you so she will do it nevertheless.

BACKGROUND. 

第一章  :  chapter one

"ojii-san, one day when i grow up, i want to become a great hero like almight! and midnight, too!" 

gran torino glances down at the little girl with cat ears on her pink head, he begins to mumble something about japan's no.1 hero on the tv that his granddaughter looks at with heart eyes and none of the adjectives he use to describe almight soud nice at all but perhaps minatozaki hori's used to her grandfather's grumpy personality. "why would you want to become a hero when you can live a normal and peaceful life, hori?"

"like mommy and daddy?" hori blinks her cyran eyes. "but that's booo—ring!" but it's true, why be a hero when she can live as an ordinary girl who doesn't have to risk herself just for the sake of someone else? that's what her parents always say when they catch her watching interviews of heroes, they are afraid that she might get in danger as a hero so no, the minatozakis never encourage their daughter to follow her dream. 

except for her grandfather, an ex pro-hero. he understands how amazing does it feel to become a hero, right? so hori's always following him around, asking him to tell her about his great adventures as a hero and what does grandpa do? he's the same as her parents. "hori, our family only wants the best for you so please, stay out of trouble."

the five years old looks up him with tears on her face. she only feels disappointed.
 

第二章 : chapter two

"yui— hori— ??"

"mommy!!!"

yui leaves hori's side as the little girl rushes over their mother, bursts into tears. she cries louder and louder as minatozaki miyamo comforts the oldest daughter, asking her what happened but when she gazes at the younger daughter with wounds and dirt on her face, her knees, and her clothes... she immediately understands what happened to the pair of sisters. 

hori keeps staring at them like that without saying anything. in the evening, she doesn't touch her dinner and shuts the door quietly. 

it's already eleven o'clock but she can't fall asleep. her arms are aching and so is her head, hori can't believe that she's that much of a weak and fragile girl. the other kids bully both yui and her because they are jealous of the minatozaki daughters for their wealth and beauty and the fact that hori's dating one of the girl's boyfriend but then, the girls are useless and hori hates that about herself. aside from a rich and spoiled girl, there's really nothing good about her, right? she pushed yui behind her back and swore to not let anything happen to the little minatozaki but all hori remembers was the image of the girls throwing empty cans and bottles at yui while all she could do was lying weak on the cold ground. hori couldn't even speak because she weak, the cat just watched her sister getting beaten like that.

"hori, you did everything you could to protect your older sister, didn't you?" 

hori wants to pretend to be asleep but knowing that it's her grandfather, she gets annoyed and just has to show some attitude. "go away, grandpa." she pulls the blanket over her head. "i don't want to talk to you."

"nobody wants to talk to this old man because they all underestimate me." 

he's getting on her nerves once again. hori fumingly throws the blanket off and glares at the doorway where gran torina is, she raises her voice. "so what if i tried?! i'm rubbish, grandpa. i, i tried so hard... and i couldn't. it's just..." she tried but even though she did her best, nothing changed. 

"are heroes always stupid like you and him?" 

hori tries to hold back her tears and glares at her grandfather. what does he mean by that?

"idiot granddaughter, you knew that you would just going to end up getting beaten like yui yet you still stood up for her. well, i guess this is what happens when you let naive children watch too much almight."

hori frowns. he's trash talking her favorite hero again. 

"let's make you a hero, little cat. so that one day, you will be able to protect your sister."
 

第三章 : chapter three

"minatozaki-san, which high school are you going to?"

hori twirls her hair, making a confused expression. "hmm.." she hums. "u.a academy?" 

"no way! isn't that like—"

"the most popular hero academy in japan? hard to get in? only a few students in our school have made it?" hori blinks nonchalantly at the male student. "i'm scared, too, furetawa but to be honest, i think i'm prepared for this." 

because she is trained by one of the greatest pro-heroes in the world, gran torino. she is trained by the man who once trained japan's no.1 hero, her grandfather. she's fourteen when hori makes waves about her decision to become a student at u.a academy. instead of following her sister's footsteps and becoming what her family wants her to do, lady minatozaki chooses to become a hero. all about fighting and unlady-like missions and behaviours. which, of course, does not please her parents at all even though they let her do whatever she wants.

and hori doesn't care about her parents, she's thankful that they don't care about her.

"grandpa, i'm ready to fight!"

"aggressive is not a good trait."

"then, i'm ready to take you down."

"why are you so stubborn, hori? where did you learn to be so stubborn?"

"i'm not stubborn!"

"then stop talking back to me."
 

第四章 : chapter four

"... congratulations, minatozaki hori. you passed the entrance exam. welcome to u.a academy!"

the cat smiles victoriously.

at last, she's now a hero-in-training.

PRESENT / SCHOOL LIFE. hori's a student of class 1-a and she sits behind shoji (b). she wakes up at six every day and goes for a jog before having breakfast, getting dressed then walks to school. when her classes are dismissed, she would hang out at the shopping malls, coffee shops or at the park with some of her classmates before arriving at home to have dinner at seven. then, she takes a shower and studies until nine. hori will either hang out with her friends until ten thirty in the evening or that she will just stay at home and watch dramas, surfing the internet, applying beauty masks and chatting with her friends. she goes to sleep at twelve.

hori's a popular girl, always surrounded by her classmates or non-classmates and there are people who buy her drinks and food in hope that they can make her care for them more and you know the girl, she's friendly to everyone so hori would accept all the gifts but nah, she won't get serious with anyone! hori doesn't really pay much attention in class as she often dozes off and is easily distracted so her grades are... average. if lucky, higher than average a bit.

as for her dorm, the main color scheme is focused on white and pink. the room is simple yet feminie and aesthetically pleasing to scan one's eyes around at. hori decorates her room with posters of beautiful victoria secret models (which she claims that their bodies are her inspiration to look at every day when she wakes up) and cute cats.

— likes fashion, make-up, beauty vloggers, victoria secret models (obviously), dramas, romantic movies, sweets, strawberries and anything that is pink.

— she can play the saxophone and is surprisingly a great singer. would fight everyone to sing at a karaoke party.
— she likes to drink alcohol and her parents don't know about this.

— she likes everyone in her class besides mineta if that isn't obvious... because he's so annoying and what? only cares about the girls' appearances.

— catches a cold easily. when she sneezes, her entire body will jump.
— hori really loves the female heroes of japan. she doesn't like endeavour because he's grumpy, her favorite male hero is best jeanist though she used to love almight the most.
— can't ride a bicycle. when you can jump from this spot to another and from branches to branches like her, there's no need to use a bicycle! with that being said, she loves to sleep on the trees.
— hori likes to sniff and smell everything.
— she falls asleep easily and when she's sleeping, hori won't be able to hear anything because she loves sleeping that much!
— enjoys playing with water.
— has dated three boys before.
— her family is filthy rich...
— does skinship to the people she likes and feels comfortable with. 

QUIRK. 

— feline mimicry (mutant-type)  hori's quirk allows her to do anything that a cat can do.

APPLICATIONS. 

— claws  she can generate sharp and long claws (up to 7cm)  from her fingertips and toetips that are originally her nails. with the claws, she can use it to cut through objects or attacking and slashing her enemies. 

— enhanced skills  greater agility than others that hori uses to dogdge the attacks aiming at her, sneaky and quickly like a cat. her body is much more flexible than an ordinary person and can squeeze through prison cells. hori can leap farther than others, jump from building top to building top (within 15 metres). and the most remarkable thing about her is that as a cat, she moves really fast. 

— enhanced senses  she can see, hear, smell, taste, and feel better than an ordinary human.

— night vision  she can see in the dark.

LIMITATIONS.

— night vision  though hori can see clearly in the night, she is sensitive to sudden flashes or bright light and it might make her blind temporarily if she's exposed continuously while activating her ability to see in the dark. also, she can't see colors and everything's grey.

— claws  her claws are hardened, almost unbreakable as a sword and sharp like a knife but broken nails are unavoidable in certain circumstances. she'll bleed, painfully a lot and if she's in weak condition or doesn't have enough stamina to regenerate her claws (usually happens when she stays in a battle for too long), hori might pass out from losing too much blood. also, when she's mad, her claws will come out unexpectedly so careful!

— naughty tail  her tail wiggles and moves a lot so she breaks a lot of things and sometimes, it's her wiggling tail that makes the enemy spots them.

HERO COSTUME. this is her hero costume but instead of only wearing an underwear, hori also wears a skirt with the same color.

—  kacchan  what midoriya calls him. kaminari would use it as well!
— explosion boy since he sure does love to explode... and explosion is his quirk, many of bakugou's classmates use this nickname to call bakugou.
—  angry hedgehog  spiky haired boy who's always grumpy, doesn't he remind you of an angry hedgehog? hence, hori calls him so.

PERSONALITY.  gryffindor but a strong slytherin candidate. the worst of the worst — cocky, prideful, aggressive, violent, ambitious, incredibly headstrong and reckless. actually, let's just appreciate the ash blond for not choosing to become a villain. bakugou's a loud kid, like, he's always screaming and is never chill at all. he's rude to those around him as well and swears every single second. always in a grumpy mood, he scares the out of everyone. bakugou isn't that much of an organized person and is more of a spontaneous type. hence, his actions are unpredictable and he acts without a care about the consequences that might occur but does he care? no. he's reckless like that yet it's undeniable that bakugou is an intelligent boy who was born to be a leader. he has good instincts and is extremely quick-witted. bakugou is very independent to the point that he hates working with other people. therefore, the boy is uncooperative and with his stubborn personality, either you follow him or else he will never listen to you. although he's literally a jerk and an , if he cares for someone, he'll grow very protective of them though he might not be good at showing it. 

TRIVIA. 
— bakugou is a very tidy person.
— he's an excellent chef! though not many know about this and it's none of their business anyways..
— he's good friends with kirishima ejirou and *probably* sero and mina.
— his family consists of three people: him, his mother and father. bakugou has a pretty normal childhood minus the fact that no one really likes him because he's a big jerk.
— bakugou knows how to play drums.
— he's fond of wearing black.
— bakugou calls everyone by nicknames. if he calls someone by their last name, that means he respects them or that they have become special to him.
— bakugou katsuki swears a lot.

FIRST MEETING. both of them met for the first time during the entrance exam and bakugou was surprised to see an examinee with such a fast speed. she seemed to be a strong opponent with her cat-like appearance but of course, he didn't care much about her while hori would never forget that boy who aced the chart and acted like a villain. later on they met each other once both become classmates but the first conversation didn't go well as she called him the villain and he called her the stupid cat. they have been fighting since the first day at school.

RELATIONSHIP. the suki duo of class 1-a, also known as the couple get that will never get along but also known as the resident married couple since they are always bickering and will fight over an eraser. it's just their sort of thing and a day never goes by without the two of them insulting each other as if he was her worst enemy and vice versa. there's also a rumor that bakugou likes cats, hence, he has a crush on hori but the boy would never admit that though as days go by and they become closer, he really does like her. unlike most people who are unable to deal with his headstrongness and foul mouth, hori is able to and she makes him even more aggressive as she basically gives him a taste of his own medicine. bakugou honestly never understands the things she's into and why the hell does she have to make such a big deal over wet mascara or broken lipstick and the fact that she's such a diva irritates him but at the same time, bakugou finds all of that to be interesting and has come to admit that being around hori is really fun. the fact that he can read her emotions easily as well. 

hori doesn't believe in herself and most of her classmates might think she's a burden for that but bakugou doesn't. he learns that she's actually a smart girl but unlike yaomomo's case, no one really thinks that hori's intelligent so bakugou would be there to back her up and encourage her, which is quite a rare side of him but he's there and he's doing that to help hori improve! though at first, he would yell at her out of pure annoyance. (we can imagine an angry bakugou telling hori to stay away if she can't do anything). since bakugou is the biggest risk-taker in the world after all and he isn't afraid of so when he's stuck with a girl who hesitates to do everything and with a strong push, bakugou will force hori to overcome her fear. as for the cat herself, knowing that bakugou's plans are often reckless, she would always stop him from doing stupid things and that would be when hori is forced to come up with a better plan. so, character development for both of them? 
 

CONCLUSION. near the end of the story, bakugou is going to confess his feelings and hori doesn't accept straight afterwards. she spends a week thinking about their relationship, forcing bakugou to go shopping for her and massaging her feet when they are in class and basically giving him a hard time then she rejects him. "heh, kidding, i like you, too, idiot. took you long enough." bakugou's going to be so mad and happy at the same time he's just gonna call her a fat cat and they join the rest of the class! voila, a happy couple.
