Courteous, Kyungwoo is well mannered and respectful. He never forgets to return a greeting and respecting his elders. His parents taught him all the proper etiquette and he applies it in his daily life which earns him the respect of those around him. Caring, even though he always has that stoic expression on his face, he is still does have emotions and cares for those who he has grown attached to. This trait is rarely shown by Kyungwoo but people who have seen this side of him are blessed to know that he isn't an emotionless person. Brave, He doesn't show any signs of cowardice in the face of danger and would gladly take it head on. Trustworthy, He is quite dependable as he is truthful. He can accomplish any task you rely on him and times he is unable to, he provides a reason as to why. Secrets are also things you can share with him since he doesn't intend on spilling them to anyone. Rational, Kyungwoo has learned the hard way on how emotions can get in the way of logical thinking. He thinks with logic and reason which makes him quite intelligent. Obedient, Kyungwoo complies to orders and requests as long as they are necessary. 

Aloof, Kyungwoo isn't much of a social butterfly which makes him distant to others. He doesn't take part in conversations much unless it is important or unless he is asked too. He would probably just spare a few words then go back to being silent. Jealous, Kyungwoo doesn't envy people for their achievements but for the fact that some of them could live so care free. He also envies those who are good at communicating with people. Blunt, He will say what is on his mind. He doesn't filter his words nor does he sugarcoat them. People try to explain to him that there are things that he has to say in a nicer way and he does understand it but he always forgets to do so. Unapproable, There are some factors as to why people see him as unapproachable. One is the rumors about him killing his Dhampir guardian which when he catches people talking about it, he tells them to mind their own business in a somewhat cold way. Another is how he always has a stoic expression on his face. He has the case of the resting face which some are afraid of. Suspicious, He isn't gullible to say the least. He is very cautious towards those around him and doesn't trust them easily unless he knows them personally or knows that they don't have any bad intentions. Domineering, He tends to control the situation and the actions of others. This would cause them to be annoyed with him as he can be quite controlling.

Kyungwoo was with both parents being Moroi's. His mother was a spirit user while his father was a fire user. At the early age of 4, he was taught about everything he needed to know as a Moroi himself. He wasn't like any of the kids he sees outside in the morning because he gets affected by the sunlight. It was a pretty boring and lonely childhood. With no one but his parents and sometimes even the tutors that his parents hire to teach him, he didn't know how to socialize with other people. He grew up quiet and conversations with him would just be short sentences or one word answers. His powers manifested when he was 9 years old. He was walking out of his room while holding a book when he hit his toe on the corner of door. He let out a shout in pain and then he smelled something burning. He saw the book that he threw on the floor when he hit his toe, it was on fire. He heard his parents rushing towards his location and saw the scene before them. They immediately extinguised the fire asked him what had happened. He explained it clearly and his parents were convinced that this may be because of his powers. He was a fire user like his father. His father trained him on how to use his powers so that he doesn't accidentally set things on fire. Kyungwoo really liked the outside world and the mysteries it holds. As a kid, he would try to sneak out only to be caught by his parents ans scold him for trying. 

He was only allowed outside when their family finally got a dhampir guardian. She was a young lady named Ahn Yewon who was a year younger the Kyungwoo. She was bright, obedient, kind, but also really clumsy. His parents only allowed him to go out at night and Yewon had to be with him for protection. Kyungwoo didn't really mind that she came with him since she might be able to help him when he sees something he doesn't know or understand. To Kyungwoo, the outside world was amazing. He was experiencing all of this for the first time. Everything caught his attention and Yewon was there to see how intrigued he was with everything in sight. Yewon showed him places that he had read about. Like the beach, carnivals, forests, and many more. His favorite spot was up on the hill where he could see the entire town. He saw all the lights that came from the buildings and cars. 

This continued every night with more places for him to discover. Kyungwoo was thankful for having Yewon by his side to teach him about everything he saw and the places they've been to. Their friendship turned into something more as time passes by. Realizing that they both possess feelings for each other, they decided not to tell Kyungwoo's parents about their romance because they assumed that they would dissapprove of it. Years passed and they still think that Kyungwoo's parent have not a clue of their relationship. 

One night, Kyungwoo was passing through the halls of his house when he heard his parents talking in their room with the door slightly opened. He went closer to the door and listened to the conversation. They discussing about betraying the Dhampirs for a better ally which were the Strigoi. As soon as he heard that, he went into their room protest. He didn't like the idea of losing Yewon. He told them about his relationship with her in an attempt to convince them to change their mind. But they didn't. They stood their ground and said that the Strigoi were much stronger than the Dhampirs and they would be better off with them. It didn't seem to matter to Kyungwoo and just stormed out of his parents room. His mother didn't want to use compulsion on her own son but she had to. She made him see something that would surely make him turn against her. She created an illusion which made Kyungwoo believe that Yewon was with another man all along, cheating behind his back. He was enraged for being decieved and without thinking, he killed her. Once he realized what he has done, he immediately regretted it.

Her death caused him to go back to his quiet persona. With Yewon out of the way, his parents were able to make all of them part of the Yingsu council. He eventually got over her death and became an active member of the Yingsu Council. It took a lot of convincing by his parents but he finally gave in knowing what they were doing was for the best.The rumors about him killing his Dhampir guardian spread around but no one knows if its true or not. When he caught people talking about it, he would tell them to just mind their own business.
