PLAGIARISM: Dear Rosaline

Hey muffins! It's been way too long since I've been on Asianfanfics. I check once in a while, but with my busy schedule I really can't find the time to update my stories, so apologize.

So, some of you have read my story entitled Dear Rosaline. As the title of this blog post said, I think parts of it may have been plagiarized. One muffin have pointed it out and of course, I looked at the story.

The section below is from my story, where I saw the similarities. The author may have made a couple of changes in her story, but you guys decide. :)

"Dear Rosaline,

I just finished reading Romeo and Juliet and to me, you're the character that stood out the most. Everyone's attention was on the two star-crossed lovers, but I paid close attention to your character the most. I know you're only a fictional character from one of the greatest love stories of all time and writing to you does not make sense, but you're the only one that I could relate to. Rosaline, Romeo was all yours before he met Juliet. You're the only one he saw and loved. He followed you everywhere and never failed to think about you every day. You got him under your power, but you just let him go. You were even the reason why he met Juliet! Romeo was following you around, hoping to meet you and then he saw Juliet. He fell in love with her the moment he laid his eyes on her and completely forgot about you. You were Romeo's first love Rosaline, not Juliet. So, did you ever regret losing Romeo to your cousin? Did it hurt that you were just replaced and forgotten by Romeo? Why did Shakespeare choose to develop your character like this, Rosaline? Why?

I decided to write to you because I feel like I'm in the same situation as you. I was also replaced and forgotten. He was my first love, Rosaline. I loved him so much and I'm sure he definitely loved me back. I didn't expect his love for me would unexpectedly end though. It even got to the point of me being replaced by another girl. Were you hurt when you found out Romeo replaced you, Rosaline? Because I'm hurting right now. My Romeo found someone else. He forgot about me. I was replaced.

His name is Oh Sehun, Rosaline and he was my Romeo."

You should contact the person. Honestly these people never learn. Post it on your story. I'm telling you, Wattpad is a hive for trashy people like this who somehow feel pride when copying someone's work and getting praises for it. IDK how desperate they are for praises.

I already commented to her story and told her to talk to you over the story, she said something like ‘the idea is similar but the plot is mine’ and i told her that she still needs to talk to you especially that she aware that her idea and foreword are similar yet she did not do anything about that or give you a credit. then she removed my comment and maybe blocked me since i cannot comment anymore. hope you get a solution over this plagiarism issue, people sometimes can be so shameless.

I would consider this as plagiarism because the idea is definitely the same, different wordings.

The definition of plagiarism: "the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own."

So yes, she definitely plagiarized your ideas.
