It's a Saturday night, yes?

I'm bored and I haven't been blogging in a while. Been saying 'hye' to everyone randomly again lately, it's been a while TT_TT Seeing I'm lazy right now, almost midnight here meaning my Saturday will end soon. I feel like doing something productive here on AFF. Picking something random, I shall pick one of the many universal interest; music.

Knowing AsianFanFics being... mostly Korean fics *coughs* slightly oriented *coughs* but is still ASIAN, I would imagine everyone having other music interests besides Asian music. So for this post, I shall share with you my  favourite bands/singers/singing groups. Yes, you may go back to your profile or some shizz and ignore this blog post. I just feel like writing >_>

Since I was 8, I've always had a strong liking for Linkin Park and Avril Lavigne. Meteora days and Avril's punk era filled up my music interest during my childhood days. I didn't know anyone else and I didn't want to. I admired Avril's image and felt like she was a role model in sense of bringing out a statement with her dark eyeliner, punkish fashion sense, spunky personality and her always wearing something black on a skateboard. Linkin Park... was just pure awesomeness. Both were influenced by my brother. But then Avril changed in her third album. Punk princess... PUNK PRINCESS... seriously? Like... seriously? How did someone get from singing 'Sk8er Boi' to... 'Girlfriend'? She said she "MATURED", that's explaining the change in image. The MAJOR change in image. *coughs* matured my *coughs* Meh, lost interest in Avril. Everything I admired about her completely change. Both looks and music wise. She still has that spunkyness going on though that I still love.

For years I listened to only those two and occasionally Backstreet Boys and Maroon V. I LOVE BACKSTREET BOYS. No kidding o_o I love karaoke-ing to their songs @_@ One of the few things I can connect to my mother about. Late 2008, my sister introduced me to Placebo. She forces me to listen to them every night on the way back home from the mosque during the fasting month. The first song I got hooked up to was Infra-Red. As I explored Placebo, I fell in love with the dodgy lyrics and fabulous sounds of the instruments. Around early 2009, I was going through my other sister's laptop. Randomly listening to the songs, I stumbled upon Thirteen Senses. Will South's soothing voice and the band's magical and simply mind swaying sound made me fell in love with them. Around that time also I got my sister's hand-me-down phone. And her songs remained in there. From there, I started listening to Kasabian. Nothing, nothing like I've heard before. Something about Kasabian just seperates them from other bands I've ever heard. Then again, all that I've stated have their own individual sounds. Keane, I fell deep in deeeeeep admiration for Under The Iron Sea. 'A Bad Dream' tends to make me feel like crying every time I listen to it >_> Now I'm begining to get into Two Door Cinema Club, "Come Back Home" got me addicted to their guitar sounds. Between these great bands, I've encountered a lot more but none I'm really into as the ones I've mentioned :]

Witness the awesomeness of Placebo:

Honestly speaking, my interest in English songs are much, much wider than Korean. I am still considered new in the world of Kpop. I'm still trying to explore the sea of Korea's modern music culture. So far I've only actually, deeply gotten into is Super Junior. I can't seem to proceed. Still stuck on them @_@ Planning to start listening to Trax but haven't really done anything yet. Except for Blaze Away from Eyeshield 21's sountrack. Eheh.

Weee, ends my productive or not so productive blog post. Psssh, and it's Sunday already. Oh well~
