1. Type of Political System (China is communist; however, they call themselves "socialists". Korea is a democratic republic with an elected President)
2. History of China and Korea : try to look at their position during World War II and The Korean War. South Korea has always been hostile towards China because of their control of the North of Korea which resulted in the division of the 2 Koreas. South Korea and China only formally started diplomatic relations in 1992!
3. China's Economic Growth pushes the US out as the largest economy in the world
4. Korea's Economy booms between 1960-1980's with their 'Export-led' strategy
5. China and Korea diplomatic relations in the 1990s to early 2000s-- China is Korea's leading Export partner
6. Influence of internet in early 2000s: Hallyu reaches Chinese market
7. 2016-- US and South Korea "THAAD"gets a negative reaction from China retracting the import of Hallyu into the country. Korean entertainment is "banned" as a sign of China's protest.
