Music is Music

A lot of individuals prefer music as a way where they can relate and express their feelings or themselves in general in a way they cannot.
Music has many genres -- Pop, Rap, K-Pop, J-Pop, Hip-Hop, OPM, Rock etc...
In a population of 7.6 billion, they don't listen to just one genre -- they have their own taste and preference.
But just because one genre is different than the rest does not mean it's not good. For example, K-Pop and J-Pop are not sung in the English language -- but it's pretty popular. In some cases, its culture is even adapted to a particular country because of its big influence.
The biggest problem with non-K-Pop or J-Pop listeners is that they think it's inappropriate to listen to music that most individual can't understand and they think it's ''disrespectful'' and ''rude'' not to listen to their country's specific genre and language.
What they don't realize is that these foreign music can mean a lot more when translated into English than the ones they're listening to every day repeatedly.
Then again, why go to all that trouble just so the non-foreign music listeners can understand a foreign music listener's point? He or she finds happiness in his or her foreign music; he or she prefers the K-Pop or J-Pop music.
Occasionally, their preferred music that they can fully understand is mostly pointless and doesn't mean anything at all up to the point where a lot would be asking why and how was this song approved to be released to the public.
K-Pop and J-Pop is his or her preferred genre in music, nobody got a say because it's his or her personal taste.

As stated earlier, music is a way where an individual can somehow relate and express their own feelings in a way they cannot.

Mostly, these feelings can be personal. These foreign music singers that mostly local music listeners bash and call inappropriate names can possibly hurt an individual that can trigger their deepest and darkest problems in them.
They turned their feelings to their foreign music to get a sense of healing, contentment, to clearer mind, to escape the real world temporarily where their problems are.
But why are they hurting more just because local music listeners don't approve of listening to it just because most of them can't understand it.
Music is music, no matter what the language is or how the beat goes.

These foreign singers that they adore can cause a big impact to them. As mentioned earlier, through music, an individual can express themselves.
By listening to their foreign music, what local music listeners don't realize is that these foreign singers that they bash can mean a lot to them individually.
These K-Pop and J-Pop singers can be the reason why he or she is the top of their class.
These singers can be the reason why he or she graduated with honors.
These singers can be the reason why he or she feels happy again after a very low-spirited day.
These singers can be the reason why he or she is smiling again.
These singers can be the reason why he or she is still trying hard in life after everything looks like it gave up on her.
These singers can be the reason why he or she is still hanging on despite being low-spirited.
These singers are inspirations and role models.
These other fans that they meet through these foreign singers can be family because of these singers' song.

Foreign music listeners do not wish for local music listeners to be like them and listen to more meaningful songs, they just wish to be respected.
They wish for them to respect their genre and respect their preferred music and taste.
The only difference here is that the language -- which is not a big deal because whatever the word is it only means one thing like their music that they can fully understand.
Listening to foreign music doesn't mean they don't appreciate their country's local music. As mentioned earlier, 7.6 billion people do not listen to just one genre. They have their own personal and preferred taste.
Music is music.
Even if it's not from their country, even if it's not sang in English, even if it's not sang in their own language, Music is still music.

I've always wondered, if these people can't even fathom the idea that someone might listen to a song in a different language, would their heads explode if they knew there was people that listened to music that didn't even have words?

Yaass so true.. i love this.
It is all a matter of preference anyway. Who is anyone to judge what another likes to listen to. I personally dont like to listen to most songs of my native language because the vocabulary used are usually cringey and bland to me. And mainstream english songs these days are just too meaningless for taste and is all about and drugs but that may be the preference of other ppl and that's okay.
Ppl should just listen to whatever they want and be happy <3

True. They teased and ridiculed me for listening to kpop. I told them that I would listen to whatever I wanted to and now It's been five years and no one gives a care about it now.
