background: Being the only child in the family, skye tends to have the most attention on her. Her family is of the higher middle class whereby her father is a taiwanese aboriginal who works as a professor in the university and her mother, a Korean, works as a teacher in A korean international school. Her family moved to new york when skye was around 3 years old. and because of the busy working schedule of her parents, skye was always staying with her nanny's house thus making her rather independent than spoilt brat. when she was 16, she went for yg audition and got in. she moved to seoul in the same year to become a trainee in YG for five years. she was about to debut when told papa yg that she's more interested in the taiwan entertainment industry so she would have to go back to taiwan to give it a try. if she were to succeed, Yg could continue to manage her. true enough, she got the championship in one of the singing competitions, One million star, and being awarded with a singing contract in December 2015.
Skye released her first album in July 2016 and she attained good result despite she was only a rookie singer at that time. Critical and commercial response to the album was positive, it has sold more than 100,000 copies sold in Taiwan alone, and made her the best-selling female singer of the year in Taiwan. The lead single, "The Great Artist", reached number 2 on the hit FM Top 100 Singles of the Year. The album earned her six golden melody award nominations for best mandarin album, best mandarin female singer, best rookie, best music video and song of the year, which the lead single, the great artist won the song of the year award.

it's awkward but i love it
history: Skye was having her one-month holiday after her world tour and she went back to seoul to visit her grandmother when her cousin asked her to stand-in singer for a pub where his band was performing. jaejoong and junsu were also at the pub when he heard Skye sing. jaejoong was attracted to the voice on stage and thought she was just a pub singer at that time until he bumped into skye and her cousin in the gym. skye's cousin went up to jaejoong to ask for a photo; it was only until he saw the tag on instagram then he realised skye is actually a singer in taiwan. after that she was the first account that he followed on instagram.
But their fate didn't just end in seoul. when she was on her way to tokyo for her holiday, she bumped into Jaejoong on the plane whereby he invited her to watch his 3-day concert at nagoya. skye went to his nagoya concert on the third day and jaejoong was extremely thrilled to see her there. they exchanged number after that but they were too busy with their own life and work to keep in contact with one another. Their relationship is just acquaintances.
