THE softest girl. looks like a cinnamon roll, is a cinnamon roll. history 
all the old people in town say she resembles her mother. and she does, without a doubt. same smile, same stature, oceanview adores sarang the same way they adore her mother. she wasn't born in oceanview, instead moving there to live with her grandparents after her parents' died in a car crash when she was five. from her arrival in the town, everyone pitied her, the small girl who was dealt an unfortunate hand. the young girl who was already putting on a mask of strength around others. the daughter of their beloved seulgi.

the whole town watched over her, doted on her, made sure the hardships of sarang's life ended with the death of her parents. and as a result of all the love she recieved from so many people, she blossomed into a flower who could give out love in return. they turned her pain into support, her suffering into love. as she grew older, sarang would do everything she could to show her thanks to everyone who watched over her, often helping them with whatever they needed. she'd run errands for her neighbors, spend a few hours taking care of the neighborhood grandmas, send food to the people working long shifts, walking younger children home for their busy guardians. overall, she spent a lot of time with old people and developed both a sense of humor and a way of speaking that resembles theirs.

everyone was pleased to see sarang doing so well, and they always told her to keep smiling because they couldn't bear to see her hurt. day in and day out she heard some variation of that notion, and it wasn't long until she got the message: she doesn't have a right to be sad or angry or feel pain, she must forever and always be oceanview's happy little princess. and that was fine for a while, but fourteen years later, and sarang feels trapped by the people who love her.

she's a princess in a tower, and she wants to break free. and maybe that house can be her first step in rebelling.

WHY DO THEY WANT TO GO ?  
"how can i explain this?" she asks herself, "firstly, that house has a... feeling to it. a weird feeling. not quiet good and not quiet bad, but a persistent feeling nontheless. and also," she fiddles with her fingers, "its always been something we weren't supposed to ask questions about, so i figured... why not use this opprotunity to break the rules?"

what do they think is happening ? 
"i think the man who lives in the house is using it as a torture house where he keeps missing people or like, the reincarnations of people who've wronged him in a past life and the dead body of the mayor highly preserved!" she says, all in one breath, brown eyes glowing from within.

who is the young man that comes from the house ? 
"i think he's not real." you point out that her statement contradicts her previous one, "not like, 'not real' not real but like... he's from a... different space in like, our universe. like, he's a really strong spirit that takes hold of the whole house but when he's looking for victims he has to take physical form because his power is the house himself. kinda like 'monster house'." she stops for another breath, studying the look in your eyes. "did any of that make sense?"
