  Life in the U-Prince club room is anything but quiet. From the moment you walk in you'll hear a loud voice shouting and screaming. Once you hear that, you don't have to be afraid. It's not like something is wrong or anything, it's just Yoo Jaehyun, a major in fashion designing. You go to the middle of the club room and what do you see? Jaehyun opening up his garment bag and you'll hear him saying something along the lines of "Just curious...What made you look in the mirror and say, "YES! This how I want to represent myself today"?". Of course that sentence was directed to nobody but The Intelligent Hacker. What turned into a civil conversation turned ugly quick. Bitter remarks, insults, comments, and bickering was exchanged throughout the two. Jaehyun's voice, of course, getting louder and louder with every insult he throws and insults he recieve. But don't worry, it's normal. For a couple of minutes this argument will go on and on.

The Frozen Lawyer will walk in and join the argument. Telling them to shut up and stop acting like children of course. After getting scolded and yelled at for minutes that was longer than their argument, the two calm down. For about 5-8 minutes you'll hear nothing but the sound of The Frozen Lawyer organizing his papers for the meeting. At the exact moment The Frozen Lawyer starts speaking about today's topic. You'll hear very loud and clear, the voice of Jaehyun saying, "I think I know your concept of your look. It's a love yourself kind of thing right? Because after seeing your outfit, I feel a thousands more confident and feel better about myself. Shoes speak louder than words". Muliple sighs can be heard throughout the room. Not that telepathy exists, but everyone other than Jaehyun at that exact moment were wishing for him to shut up.

▸ Jae — He gets called this from time to time by the people around him. It's a shortened version of his name, but also his designer name. {"Jae, you coming?"}

▸ Firecracker — Like a firecracker, Jaehyun is "erratic", disruptive, loud, and full of energy {"The firecracker is going off"}

▸ Personal Stylist— Changing outfits, fixing outfits, and fixing your hair or accessories with permission or without like a stylist does. He does this voluntarily whether it's wanted or unwanted. {"You better hide you feet under the table. You know how our personal stylist dislikes socks nd sandals beig worn together"}

The only thing that stook with him was the most common phrases. But his bad grammar and pronunciation make it difficult for people to register what he's saying. {"Bathroom where are?", "Don't know I am...help?", "I'm apologise", "I no no understand"} 

▸ French— Advanced; Where do the most legendary grand fashion shows happen? Paris! City of love? More like the metropolis of fashion. If Jaehyun wants to become a top-notch designer and has connections to A Class Models who can wear his designs, he must learn the language of the city where they reside in. Jaehyun started taking online French lessons in high school. Since he already knew his ambition of becoming a fashion designer and learning French, his parents also hired a tutor to teach him.

    ▸ Jaehyun stands tall at 178 cm and weighs 64 kg. He dyed his hair multiple colours but decided to stick with wine red because it suits him and he claims the colour to be the fashion statement of the year. He has natural eyebags {"I like to think that the bags under my eyes are Chanel"}, slight plump lips, a contagious smile and a jawline that could cut you (I'm just exaggerating). He has a cross earring on his left ear (refer to the GIF on the left). Many people questioned as to why he only had an earring, and he simply replies with "It's fashion".  


 FASHION STYLE.   

    ▸ The day Jaehyun's choices of clothing won't get compliments, garner attention, or have people getting whiplash because people want to see his outfit, is when pigs fly. He's someone who rather be caught dead than be caught in a horrendous outfit {"Life isn't perfect, but your outfit can be"}. Why? Because your personality isn't the first thing people see. From questionable and controversial clothing to fashionable and chic clothing, he has people staring at his outfit. Coming from a high-class family he had to thank his background for all his nice clothing. Enter Jaehyun's wardrobe here.

ELABORATION.
 

 

If you're looking for an energetic dude filled with spunk, you've come to the right place because Yoo Jaehyun is probably one of the most energetic young person you will ever find. People who are one year older than him can feel like a grandma/grandpa because he's always so full of energy. There's an ongoing joke between the Uni-Prince members that Jaehyun swallowed a firecracker when he was young, and it's constantly going off inside of him 24/7. He even moves constantly in his sleep and sleeps talks, which freaks many people out if they don't know his sleeping habits. But his ebullient nature has a downside as well, and he's gotten on the bad side of many university professors and people because of his "disruptive" qualities. When Jaehyun decides to speak, suddenly, nothing can stop him until he runs out of subjects. The Uni-prince members like to call it verbal diarrhoea. And if the time calls for silence and stillness, it's best to not have Jaehyun around because he will mess that up in seconds. And he won't hesitate to get other people as pumped up and excited as he is. He's indeed like a firecracker, nobody knows when he's going to go off, and when he does go off, good luck getting him back to 0. Jaehyun has a great sense of humour. He's a funny guy, from his homemade jokes to his outlandish stories, he knows how to make people laugh, and he can make things go from awkward to enjoyable in seconds. Feeling down? Go to Jaehyun. He hands out jokes like a salesman giving out free samples. When it comes to borrowing something from Jaehyun, it's no problem since he's such a giving person. He's not stingy with his belongings, and he doesn't mind lending something to someone or just giving it flat out. Sharing is caring when it comes to Jaehyun. And if you need someone to lift your spirits? Jaehyun got you. He's a very encouraging and uplifting friend. Patting people on the back when needed and giving pep talks on the daily. He is caring and self-sacrificing. He will try to help you in any kind of circumstances and to the best of his abilities.

 

Jaehyun is someone who is understanding towards others. It can be while planning an event and you not being able to come or sympathizing with people who've gone through something terrible, to putting himself in the person's shoes, and so on. But that doesn't mean there aren't people who dislike him. In fact, two things that most people dislike about Jaehyun is how conceited he can be and his diva tendencies. He is confident, and he knows how stylish and beautiful he is. He won't hesitate to make a comment, remarking on such. He might look in the mirror longer than others and call himself beautiful more than ten times a day. He would like to be modest and say he looks okay, but he can't tell lies and be humble. Those who know him are either used to it or don't notice it much, but those who don't know him will get annoyed and are quickly turned off when he says things like this. Then comes his diva side. He's hard to please, fault finding, full of snappy comebacks and comments and isn't easily impressed. When you are hanging out with him sometimes his comments can come off as petty, or sassy. He has a lot of snappy comebacks that he isn't afraid to give whenever he wants. You could be his close friend or a stranger and he will still find a way to show you some type of sass. He criticizes and nags about little things and with people's outfits, especially when it comes to the intelligent hacker. This is where his stubbornness and divaness come together. When it comes to the things he wants to do, it's either his way or no way at all. He's not someone to be forced into something he doesn't want to do or doesn't believe in. He may not speak outwardly about his feelings towards something, but his actions will always show how willing or unwilling he is to do something. If one were to bring him a topic or idea that he doesn't have any interest in, doesn't have faith in, or merely one he doesn't like, it will be like trying to persuade a brick wall. And he can argue about why he's right all day long. He becomes dramatic and throws things out of proportion. From the simplest things such as getting a small stain on his clothes and acting like its the end of the world. Jaehyun is secretive. He will hide his negative feelings behind a mask of happiness. He thinks that he will burden those around him if they see he's upset or unhappy over something. He's the mood maker after all. He needs to keep people's spirits up, not down. That's why he keeps so many of his personal problems and frustrations to himself. He's the type who hides his sadness in smiles. It takes a lot of effort to make him truly happy, and it takes only one little thing to ruin it. 

 

 

   BACKGROUND.   
 

Taking his first breath on July 28th, Jaehyun was born and raised in a drastically average wealthy family. He's an older brother in a family of four. His mom a lawyer, his dad a heart surgeon, a younger sister by four years, and a small family beagle. You can see by the way Jaehyun acts, he grew up in an environment where he was loved and cherished. You can say he grew up in a greenhouse since his parents sheltered him from all the terrible and cold things from the "outside world". Like his family, his childhood life was average as well. He refused to eat his vegetables and became a picky eater when he was 4. He went on play dates with his friends when he was 6. Constant family outings and a vacation to Paris at 8. 9 years old and getting the Aladdin pants he always wanted since he watched Disney's Aladdin -  which he got for Christmas. Jaehyun was free to do whatever he wanted and got whatever he wanted for his birthdays or on Christmas. But don't worry, his parents made sure he wouldn't grow up to be a snobby brat. He still has his duties with being a son, and an older brother as well. He was taught how to do the dishes, he helped do laundry, his parents taught him the importance of being generous and made Jaehyun donate his toys to a foundation which sends the items to orphanages. He would volunteer to be in charge of family game nights, movie nights and family outings, and he took pride in cutting his sister's apples even if he did use the butter knife.

 

And as time passed by, Jaehyun grew up and is now in high school. And as he grew up, so did his Ebullient nature. Whether we can blame this on puberty or not, I don't even know. The school life was never for Jaehyun, or at least that's what he claims. He made decent grades, and other than being very disruptive and talkative in class, her teachers didn't have a problem with his schoolwork. Yeah he had to stay back for detention because he found telling knock-knock jokes in the middle of class was a good idea, yes he got called in for quite the many parent-teacher interviews, yes the lunch lady didn't take a liking to him (I'm sure you can guess why), and yes his best subject was art (he would always design and sketch his clothing ideas) and his worst subject was chemistry. Fashion is life, but chemistry ain't. Besides that, Jaehyun never had any desire to go to university or study anything but fashion. Though his dad had a love for his monochrome grayscale sets of clothing, and his mom has a love for the professional clothing with dull colours, Jaehyun found himself leaning more towards bright colourful and diverse clothing. Now, where did this passion for fashion come from? Jaehyun's grandma. Jaehyun's grandma was a seamstress who owned a small clothing boutique, and when Jaehyun was in his preteens, he would often be babysitted by her. He took interest in his grandmother's choice of work and would often request her to make clothes for him. He'll request his grandmother to make clothes for him like the ones in his anime shows. Sometimes he'll help her with the boutique in exchange of learning how to use a sewing machine. After learning how to sew, he, of course, became gained an interest in the fashion area and became obsessed. Though his first item of clothing, being pants, gained a lot of praise from his family, only for him to have a wardrobe malfunction when he wore them to school one day (having your pants rip isn't fun), he dreams of making clothing or designs that others would wear.

 

Since he finished high school, he's been looking at every university in Daegu, big and little, only to continuously get disappointed with their fashion programs being mediocre and generic. And though Jaehyun didn't want to be far from his family, Jaehyun started to look for universities in Seoul that offered a fashion designing course for the name of fashion. After not liking what he saw on the websites about the fashion designing courses. He decided to tour the campus, like how he did in Daegu out of trying not to judge a book by its cover. Even if he had to stay in a hotel in Seoul for a couple days touring campuses and the area, he came to a conclusion that the Seoul National University was the one. His parents, of course, noticed how dedicated Jaehyun was putting his all in. And even though they were worried and disappointed he won't be near them, they still supported and encouraged him even though they were hesitant, they realised family friends were staying in Seoul and they decided on getting Jaehyun an apartment unit near the university if he got accepted. He sent an application and was waiting for a reply. Finally, after a couple weeks later, he managed to get accepted into Seoul's National University. With good news to tell his parents, Jaehyun packed his bags and headed off to university where he's getting closer and closer to his dream.

Because if he puts an object somewhere, he expects to find it in the same place where he put it, even if he tossed it somewhere without looking.

+ He has a dorm in which he uses more as a studio and workplace than an actual dorm. He does sleep over sometimes and has food and drinks in the fridge. He commonly sleeps in his apartment and walks to the university.

"I know you sometimes think fashion designing isn't important but please just trust me on this. Fashion designing is a handful but that's why I have two hands."
 

- Though they aren't as close as Jaehyun is with his mother, Ilsung still loves Jaehyun with all his heart. Ilsung spoils both children rotten whenever he can, and is somewhat okay of Jaehyun's career choice, even if he doesn't fully understand it. He is prone to the occasional comment about whether or not fashion designing is really useful and a successful career, but an earful from his wife, daughter, and mother quickly has him backtracking every time.

- Jaehyun loves his mother to death. She is always giving him advice and pushing Jaehyun to be the best he can be. His mother always worries about him and was the one who had the hardest time accepting that Jaehyun was going to move to Seoul. Worrying about if he's sleeping well, if his picky eating habits are in the way of his eating, if he's getting too skinny, if is health is good, always sending him messages on Skype and checking in whenever possible. Jaehyun doesn't like that his mother still treats him like a child.You can say Jaehyun is a mommy's boy.

 

 

Little Sister · Yoo Jinae · Free Loader · 8/10

"Oh la la, you're giving mom and dad more issues than vogue. Go get a job and stop stressing them out already."

- Jaehyun and Jinae don't always see eye-to-eye, but they're close nonetheless. Jaehyun does what he can to be supportive of Jinae but he doesn't like how she's worrying and stressing both of their parents. Jinae decided to take a gap year (though Jaehyun suspects it's goingto be more than a year) and is showing no interest in pursuing a secondary education or getting a job and seems to be following "YOLO" to the book. Jinae lives in their parent's house and is living off their paychecks partying, clubbing, and anything and everything that has to do with having a good time. She gets threatneed to be kicked out of the house, but both parents never have the heart to do so. Jinae usually calls Jaehyun up for money when either parent refuses to give her money or for favors.

 

Grandmother · Yoo Yaeji · Seamstress & Clothing Boutique Owner· 10/10

"Gram gram! Let's go shopping! I know I went shopping 3 days ago but glamour necer takes a day off. Stop acting like you don't want a pair of those leather boots. I'll buy them for you if you come."

- Mother of his father, Yoo Ilsung, Jaehyun absolutely adores his grandmother. Yaeji introduced him to fashion and represented both family figures when his parents were busy. Easily earning her the favorite family member award. And Yaeji loves Jaehyun as if he was her own son.  She's extremely supportive and encouraging of Jaehyun's passion and fashion designing ambition and was the one who convinced his parents to let him go to Seoul.

"Oh I'm sorry. Did the middle of my sentence interrupt the beginning of yours?"

- He doesn't allow stupidity to be present and won’t hesitate to tell you what he thinks (maybe a little to quickly, which slightly irratates Jaehyun). It is this system in which gave him “The Realistic Doctor” title. He is in reality one that cares so much about the people who are close to him despite giving off those careless city guy vibes, and the only people that can appreciate or understand the way he works are the people who are in his closest circles. From first glance he looks like a reserved person and a closed-off personality, but you can see

- To many, Jaehoon's first impression is confident, seductive, and promiscuos. And Jaehyun was no exception. Only when they hanged out more and realised he never slept with a woman. But you didn't hear that "he never slept with a woman" part from Jaehyun. The man wants to keep his seductive, playboy image. They're dubbed as the Jae Duo. They hang out a lot, eat/buy lunch together, shop for clothing and accessories that will fit Jaehoon's playboy image, talk about which girl they just saw is pretty or their style (Jaehyun obviously talking about the girl's clothes and Jaehoon talking about the girl), and rating/helping Jaehoon's pick up lines. Jaehoon is Jaehyun's brother from another mother, and is the Uni-prince member Jaehyun is closest to.

 

Friend· The Frozen Lawyer · Student · 7/10

"If I give you a straw, would you go the fun out of someone else's life?"

-  Like some of the members, his relationship with The Frozen Lawyer is complicated. At first it was not like that at all due to The Lawyer's cold and strict attitude. Their relationship mostly consists of Jaehyun being annoying and The Frozen Lawyer getting annoyed. When they first met, Jaehyun was admittedly a bit scared of the guy, But after he and The Lawyer became more aquitanned with eachother he got over it, and is now one of the people most prone to have Jaehyun bothering them (Jaehyun always tries to find loopholes into the Lawyers rules just to irratate the man). 

 

Close Friend · The Foxy Businessman · Student · 8/10

"Your flattered my outfit 3 times more than you usually do. Cut to the chase and tell me what you want."

-  The Foxy Businessman is willing to share his wise and smooth words with Jaehyun when Jaehyun's willing to just shut-up and listen (which results with a lot of "woahhh that was smooth" from Jaehyun). He's cunning and sly and tends to sugar coat his words to make them much more appealing ("I can't figure out if you meant that, or you were just being sarcastic. Did you just backhand compliment me?").  He always has the solution to Jaehyun's fashion problems. Sweater on or sweater off? Black socks striped with white or white socks strapped with black? 

 

Friend · The Gentle Baker · Student · 7/10

"The difference between cupcakes and your opinion on salted caramel is that I only asked for the cupcakes."

- He's gentle and he brings food to the table. What's not to love about the man? Maybe the fact that he puts carrots, a vegetable, in something that's meant to be sweet, or that his chocolate chip cookies were actually raisin, and the fact that The Baker has a tendecy to scrutinize what Jaehyun eats and questions him about how Jaehyun even eats considering he's an extremly picky eater. In all honestly, just give Jaehyun the cupcake and we cann talk about his picky eating habits another time. Besides, Jaehyun is sure The Baker has the best of intentions but it can sometimes come off as annoying when The Baker worries about Jaehyun's well being, his mom already does enough of that.      

 

Friend · The Rebellious Rocker · Student · 8/10

"Don't be ashamed of who you are. That's your parents job."

- People's first impression of The Rebellious Rocker can be to so completely wrong. Especially one that hasn't had many conversations with the boy will think of The Rocker as a nuisance or problematic. The truth is he's one of the greatest friends you can meet. The Rocker really seems to carry a lot of unspoken feels, and this is all abundantly clear if you knew his background and him as a person. Willing to show up at The Rocker's concert and hold a poster with The Rocker's face while screaming like a proud mom. Jaehyun also sees The Rocker as a good business partner in the future if he ever needs stage outfits made. 

 

Frenemies · The Intelligent Hacker · work · 5/10

"I wish I can select all of your clothes and press delete."

- You know those friends you just want to punch in the throat, throw in a ditch and then rescue them so they could buy you lunch? Yeah? That's what The Intelligent Hacker is to Jaehyun. They are always on each other's throat and at times it can go way too far with the long silent treatment, rude retorts, insults, bickering, and name calling (especially since the Uni Prince members are scik and tired of their bickering). -  Jaehyun and The Iron Man are still in that semi-awkward stage. You know the stage in a friendship where you ask to take a bite out of the person's pizza instead of just stealing your friends food. It's just that Jaehyun and The Iron Man don't have much in common. Jaehyun hates exercising, hedoesn't like sweating (especially since it can stain your clothes), and Jaehyun feels like vomitting just with the thought of what goes in protein shakes. Jaehyun gets along with him fine, especially when they are alone, Jaehyun lets go and tries to rid of the awkward tension between them. Otherwise Jaehyun is kind of awkward with him. Other than that, Jaehyun actually really likes him.

"Goodness gracious, I can feel your eyeballs staring at the back of my head. For the last time, it's faux fur!"

- The Adventerous Geoligist is, in simple terms, a 5-year old in an adult body, as well as fearless (though Jaehyun states he has a death wish since he goes to forests and mountains). He's happy go lucky and is always down to hang out, meanwhile Jaehyun is ebullient and humurous. They're the perfect match when it comes to their personalities. In fact, they got along with eachother the moment they met. If it is even possible i'd say Jaehyun becomes even more loud with the Geoligist. The Geoligist once went on a nagging and a "I can't believe you did that. I'm so dissapointed in you" rant with Jaehyun. The cause? He came to the university wearing a real fur coat. Not wanting to sadden the boy, Jaehyun wears faux fur coats (well only to the university of course. Those real fur coasts were hella expensive and look good on him).

"Sometimes I wonder how I put up with you and then I realize how much you put up with me."

- Key is, in simple terms, is funny, the diva king, cute, confident, blunt, and very outgoing. he cares for people close to him and isn't afraid of accepting others and/or being rude because your an a$$. He's loud like Jaehyun and likes to stand up for what he believes in no matter what others think. He's a nagging mother towards Jaehyun. Always ordering him to clean up his dorm room and bugging him to eat more and so on. He's a really nice guy. you know, if you look past the confident blunt diva that he naturally is. He's cute because he thinks doing anything makes him "cool" ("In class, I knew the answer but I didn't raise my hand up. You see Jaehyun, i'm not like most students. I'm cool. Breezy~").

Jaehyun registered for only morning classes. So he's free to do his U Prince activities, study, hang out, work on his fashon designs, and do whatever he wants after or during lunch. Below are some extra information on his daily schedule.
