PERSONALITY:

Lucy is a fun and cheerful person to people she already knows, but to new people of new environment she's a bit quiet and shy one. Lucy is an ambivert so sometimes she wants to spends sometime alone but sometime she wants to socialize with the world. From outside she looks like an obidient and diligent person, she hates it when people think she is that kind of person. She wants to get out from that perception and let everyone see her other side. Her life with her parents are controlled, she doesn't like being controlled. She is the type of person who like to have the control to the point that she wants everything to be perfect. She is an honest person , which is sometimes could be bad for other people because she tends to be blunt and too straight-forward. Because of that, she might hurt someone without she knows so sh needs someone who will tell her and stop her.

Her over-achieved background was created because of her parents' demands and her hard-working personality. When Lucy find something that she can't do, she'll try to fix it and make sure that she knows how to solve that problems. She also not a patient person when dealing with other people, she is used to has a well-controlled world and everything goes according to her plan. So when someone or something disturb her plan, she'll get annoyed. Because of her perfectionist side, she has this 'self-deprecation' problem. She tends to compare herself with others, feels iferior about herself and things that she's not good enough so she needs to do it all over again or practice even harder.

Lucy made her feet bleeding a lot of times due to excessive ballet practice that she done. She also has a trouble sleeping at night, she will wakes up every 3 or 4 in the morning no matter what time she went to sleep. That sleeping trouble firt appeared when she was eleven years old, she pushed herself to the limit to study overnight since she's nine years old so her sleep troubles appears. Lucy has a lot of insecurity problems that was covered up by her blunt, hardworking and perfectionist personality. Whenever she feels sad or emotional, she'll make herself hard worker than she used to. Her additional classes or courses after school are actually her get away from stressfull school life. Her father set her to be perfect and she is tired.

BACKGROUND: 

Lucy was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland to a Korean father and an Irish mother. Her father was born in Northern Ireland to a Korean parents who moved to Ireland right before the Korean War started. Her father's name is Shin Donghyun or Daniel Shin. Meanwhile her mother is an Irish born and raised in Belfast to an Irish parents. Her mother's name is Meave Lynch and have an Irish name Medbh O Loingsigh. Her father is an orthopaedic surgeon who worked at Musgrave Park Hospital in Belfast and her mother is a pediatrician who worked at Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children in Belfast. Lucy was born to a doctor-studded-family because not only her parents who are doctors but also her grandparents. Her grandfather from her father side is a neurologist and her grandmother from her father side is a cardiologist. Meanwhile her grandfather from her mother is a professor for School of Biological Sciences at Queen's University Belfast and her grandmother from her mother side is a psychiatrist at Mater Infirmorum Hospital. Lucy has one older brother, his name is Christian Shin (called Chris) or Shin Kihyun. He's two years older than her and they are really close.

Lucy spent 11 years in Belfast where she studied at Ben Madigan Prepatory School from primary 1 until primary 7 (or in England, it's reception until year six). After she moved to Kensington, London with her family, she attended Queen's Gate School from year seven until year twelve. During her stay in London, she studied French. Her father was offered a job at The Lister Hospital in London so they decided to move out as a family, her mother works in Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital. Just a year after they moved to London, her father was appointed as the Orthopaedic to the Queen and also a member of Medical Household. She took a ballet class at Whitehouse Ballet School back in Belfast since she was three until she was ten, then after she moved to London she attended The Royal Ballet School as she took the associates program not the full-training program. She also started to attend jazz/contemporary and street/commercial training at Pineapple Dance Studio. She took two times a week program during weekdays as she took lesson in RBS every Saturdays. Lucy's brother, Christian is a medical school student in University of Cambridge and currently in year four. She is so close with her brother, they like to travel around the Europe just the two of them. Lucy's mother is actress Amelia Warner's cousin's cousin-in-law. Her uncle from her mother side got married to Amelia Warner's first cousin. So she is Amelia Warner's first cousin once removed.

Even though Lucy seemed to be very diligent and such a great daughter to her parents, she can't do anything related to cooking and drawing. She's so bad to the point that she wanted to skip all her arts classes but just decided to go along with the class, the only thing that she can draw is house with the help of ruler. She can't cook anything except of instant ramen and coffee. She doesn't understand anything about make up, the only thing that she does when she;s going out is applying some SPV lotion and lip balm, that's it. She never understand about those things and she never understand how someone could be so attached to those things. Lucy hates Math and Physics the most, she once ripped her textbook because she didn't understand it. But then her brother gave her another copy of it because she needs it really bad. She said that the only think that made her the top at her class and even school is her will, she doesn't want to hear any mean comments and rants from her parents so she just study and tries her best.

In summer 2012, she and her family came to Korea for the first time for a holiday. They spent two weeks travelling around the country and happens to be in Seoul when Starship opens an audition. She was street-casted by one of the agency's scout but she didn't have any interest in becoming an idol. She does interest in dancing and arts but she didn't think of taking arts as her career. So the scout only offer her and her parents a card name, he gave her a chance to think about his offer again. Her father completely didn't agree if she take a path as a trainee and her mother reminded her to think about it again carefully. They went back to London and Lucy still thinking about the offers. She has good grades at school and focus on things that she wanted, becoming an idol definitely isn't her dream but then she realized that she enjoyed every seconds that she spent in the studio, practicing ballet. She finds out that her passion is in art, she decided to againts her parents' wish to go to Korea. She still has an awkward relationship with her parents because she choose to go to Korea to pursue her dream as an artist. Her mother isn't really angry at her but still worry about her career options meanwhile her father hasn't talked with her for three long years. Everytime she tries to talk to him, he will find another thing to do. Lucy wants to show to her parents especially her father that this is what she wants.

Smart and sometimes kind of intimidating / 6 out of 10
Lucy and her father used to be close but their relationship grew farther as she decided to got to Korea to pursue her dream as an artist. He always want the best for his children but couldn't let his emotion out, he can't express his emotion well and his spouse is the one who would 'translate' his emotion.

✩ Mother - Meave Lynch or Medbh O Loingsigh (47) / pediatrician / funny, caring, and loving. A trus pediatrician that really have the ability to calm kids down and comfortable with them. / 9 out of 10
She let Lucy choose her own dream because she thinks that Lucy is already grown up and her daughter already knows what's the best for herself. Original Irish, she was born and raised in Belfast. Lucy and her mother are close, ever since she left home they still keep in touch and sometimes her mother gives her a lot of advise and supports. Her mother still trying to change her father's mind with Lucy's career choose.

✩ Older brother - Shin Kihyun or Chistian 'Chris' Shin-O Loingsigh (23) / medical student at University of Cambridge / full with wit, very smart, and charming at time but can be stupid at the same time too. Soemtimes look very innocent when actually he's an "evil"/ 10 ot of 20
He's very nice to a lot of people and Lucy said that he already has a 'doctor-vibe' since they were a little. Very protective with Lucy and sometimes decided to visits her during his holiday. They are very close since they were a little, Kihyun is the one who support her decision since the beginning

✩ First cousin once removed - Amelia Warner (34) / actress and singer / very caring and fun, called Millie by Lucy. They are close and the only one in her entire extended family that pursue career in entertainment world / 9 out of 10
They're very close, even Millie's daughters are close with Lucy.  Lucy is one of the bridesmaid for Amelia and Jamie's wedding. Millie talk with her in casual way, they acts like sisters together. Millie is the only child in her family so she's close with her extended family including Lucy.

✩ First cousin once removed-in-law - Jamie Dornan (34) / actor / fun, loving, and care. Full with wit and actually can't be serious for even a moment. Likes to annoy Lucy / 9 out of 10
Very close with Lucy and Christian, he gave her a ticket to his films premiere especially Fifty Shades because she is a fan of Dakota Johnson. Jamie is really supportive towards Lucy because they share the same career path. The one who would constantly cheer her up during her downs beside her brother. They share the same birthday and they have several things in common.

 

✩ Best Friend - Yoon Chaeyoung or Meadow Chaeyoung Yoon (20) / student at Korean National University of Arts also majored in Dance, SM  back-up dancer mostly works with BoA, Jonghyun, and TaeTiSeo / funny, cares, and also intellegent. Chaeyoung always thinks positive about everything, she helps Lucy to coop up with her sleeping trouble / 10 out of 10
They become friends since the first time Lucy attended the university. Chaeyoung lived in Seattle for 15 years before moving to Seoul after being recruited by Rino Nakasone (one of SM Ent's choreographer) so she knows Seoul better than Lucy and help her to get used to the city. Chaeyoung is a big eater so they would take a stroll along Hongdae at night just to eat.

✩ Best Friend - Carina Irwin (20) / fellow trainee at Starship, one of Neon Girls' candidates / hardworking, charming, and flexible but blunt also short-tempered at times / 8 out of 10
Lucy entered the Starship first than Carina. Carina was roaming around the practices room when Lucy has just finished her practice. Carina asked about where the practice room A is and Lucy take her to the room as she was the only person there. Carina is fun to be with and since they born with the same culture (western culture), they matches well. Both were kinf of excited when know that both of them speaks English lol

 

✩ Close Friend - Kim Jongin or Kai (22) / EXO member / he's funny and very easy-going, he cares about a lot of people around hm and always worry what will  people think about him also a perfectionist in practice / 9 out of 10
They met thanks to Chaeyoung who introduced Lucy to all her coworkers including EXO and Lucy get close with Kai not only because they danced ballet but also because he helps around with perfecting her dancing skills. Lucy is the one who confronted Kai about his feelings towards Krystal and help him to realize his own feelings so he and Krystal became a couple thanks to her. Kai has two older sister but has no younger sister so he thinks of her as his younger sister and she thinks of him as her other brother and senior. Kai saved her name as 'London dude' in his phone.
