PERSONALITY:
Hana prides herself in being a very mature person while still maintaining a bit of a fresh charm to her, hence her persona "The Cranberry". She tends to be very observant of her surroundings, often seeing small details or actions that others don't. She is somewhat good at knowing how situations are going and how people are feeling because of this, making her good at reading the atmosphere and reacting thusly to keep things flowing smoothly and likewise she's able to pick out things that are off and can easily go about trying to fix them. She is also very clever, something that being observant plays off of. She is never the one to get stuck in a bind and can always figure ways around things, be it loopholes in trainee tasks that better her teammates or just getting out of troubling situations. These abilities in wit and observation seemlessly flow into her natural sense of Charisma, as well. While not bouncing off the walls with energy like some charismatic folks, she has a certain effervescent, cool charm about her. Combined with her observant nature and clever thinking, she is never short the perfect remark for any situation or interview.
However, if not ironically so, she doesn't observe her own self very well, often leading to over-criticising herself and actions. She gives herself very high standards and never seems to think she's good enough. Her stubborn nature plays into this, making for a bad cycle of not living up to her a goal or standard she set while training or performing and then reacting negatively, refusing to hear the good and letting the bad overtake the constructive criticsim she's given. She will sometimes work so hard to fix the smallest error she ends up not sleeping for two days, then slacking off in training those days because she's tired and so the cycle continues. She strives to do well and usually does, but when she doesn't she really takes it to heart. Her observant nature, while good can also make her an awfully indiscreet person. If she sees a trainee acting odd, she will immediately go and try to help, but in doing so kinda makes it obvious that something is wrong, therefore usually leading to embarrassed reactions from said trainee and making the situation worse. (Hana tries to avoid those younger than 15 because she's been that age once, she knows the mood swings and their evils.)
BACKGROUND:
After her folks arrived in the states and settled in, Hana grew up like the average American kid. She went to school, nothing too fancy or anything and tried to do well for the sake of her hopes for college or something. (Kids don't really know what college is but at the time it sounded important). She never really had many friends, but not because she was a loner, simply because she would have rather busied herself with other things like cheerleading or taking piano lessons. She's always had goals for herself, even as a child, and she often states that it's something she learned from her mother.
During the summers, Hana would go to SK, living with her grandparents in Busan and helping them around the house. She always loved SK, it was a totally different, vibe than America and a refreshing break from the cold, rainy weather of her home. One summer, after she graduated high school (top ten of her class, could have been third if the other three "Park ____'s hadn't have had first names with letters before "H" in the alphabet) she was visiting her grandparents when she got spotted on the street while window shopping at a mall in the Gangnam area of Seoul. Thinking it would be at least a cool thing to try, she eventually found herself a new passion and goal to strive for; debuting as an idol.
