Disease?
I woke up today in Korea with the news that Brazil, my home country, has decided to allow psychologists to treat homouality as disease. I am so sad, heartbroken and ashamed of my country for taking a decision like that. The place where I currently live, South Korea, still treats homouality as a taboo as well. I couldn't be more.. I don't even know how to say. I feel devastated.
I don't care if no one is going to read this, I am just extremely sad and wanted to express my opinion about the biggest mistake my country commited in this century, if not in the whole country history.
Brazil took a thousand steps back on history and development and I can't be patriot while this is happening. I am going to support the LGBT community as always did. I am gonna get angry, protest and fight for and with them. Love is never a problem or disease. Love is love. Love is a gift and unfortunately, not everyone is born with it.
We keep fighting for a world where you are free to love whoever you want and be however you wish. I keep writing about nyongtory and hoping that one day, they will be able to show themselves as they really are without being afraid of judgments and death threats and discrimination from people that think they are able to measure in other's life and tell them what to feel.
As one of my favorite brazilian singers says in a wonderful song:
"We consider fair every form of love."
More humanity for the humans, please. 😭🙏🏻
