35 Questions for Writers (taken from mintykyu)

1. How did you come up with your username and what does it mean?

I've always liked the name Evelyn and somehow I started using it everywhere on the internet, starting here. I think I added the 'Chan' because I've been reading a lot of mangas when I picked this name.

2. Which is your most subscribed to story?

It's "1000 Love Stories". I'm surprised it surpassed "Too Late" by now!

3. Why did you pick your user photo/thumbnail?

I just really liked the picture and the colors in it, to be honest ^^' And since Super Junior are my alltime favorite K-Pop band, I figured this picture would fit well.

4. Who is your AFF bestie?

Since I'm not on here a lot to chat with people, I don't think I have that kind of person on here anymore.

5. Is there a fanfic that you keep going back to read again and again?

My own that I wrote with close friends of mine as well as any chaptered story by _Mirabella_ .

6. How many stories are you subscribed to?

89 actually. They've accumulated since I've joined AFF back in 2012 ^^' But there are also a few short oneshots in there ^-^

7. Which AU do you find yourself writing the most?

School AUs. Most of the time, my main characters are still in high school during my stories.

8. How many friends do you have?

321. God only knows where all of them come from!

9. Is there something you'd like to write about but are afraid of people judging you for it? (Feeling brave? If so, share it!)

I thought for a while about pairing two people from different bands, but after a poll on here, I decided to stick to one band instead. It turned out that when I last checked the poll, the votes for 'do as you wish' and 'one band only, please' were equal, though.

10. Is there anything you would like to be better at on aff? Writing, graphic design (posters), replying to comments, updating regularly, etc..?

Definitely writing! The more I read, the more I realize what kind of amazing vocabulary and grammar structure some people on here have. I wish I could live up to that someday.

11. How many subscribers do you have?

Unique: 857, Total: 978

12. How many stories have you posted online to this day (finished and unfinished)?

I have 14 on here as a main author, all of them have been finished by now with the exception of one where I took a too long break.

13. How many stories do you have saved in your writing program?

I have 16 stories saved there, though I don't have every story I wrote on here also saved for myself.

14. Do you write down story ideas, or just keep them in your head?

I definitely write them down! Whatever isn't written down (whether that's an entire plot, just a small scene, or even a sentence) will be forgotten in no time XD

15. Have you ever co-authored a story?

Yes, several actually. The best ones are still being worked on, though, and will only be published whenever they're done.

16. How did you discover AFF?

I was actually looking for EunHae pictures when one of the picture links led me to a story here on AFF.

17. Do you consider yourself to be a popular or famous author on AFF?

No, definitely not. I don't write about a band that is trendy at the moment and I'm by far not one of the best writers on here.

18. Do you have a nickname or fandom name for your readers?

Nope

19. Was there an AFF author who inspired or encouraged you to write?

Not really. But _Mirabella_'s writing inspires me to improve my writing and learn more about the English language so I can become better and better.

20. How many karma points do you have?

2594

21. What writing advice would you give to a beginning author?

If things are not fully planned out or end up going different than you initially planned, that's okay. The most important thing is that your characters will stay true to themselves and that they get time to develope. The details of how that will happen and everything else will come naturally.

22. Do you plot out your stories, or do you just figure it out as you go?

I usually make an outline of how I want things to go (especially with the ending scene), but my stories don't always turn out that way ^^' So it's a mix, I guess, though it's leaning more towards figuring things out as I go.

23. Have you ever gotten a bad review or comment on a story? If so, what did you do?

Yes, I have already gotten a bad comment (I don't think it was much more than one), but I decided to ignore that one because the plot itself just wasn't something that reader liked, so it was simply a personal opinion opposing the majority of my commenters who actually liked what was going on.

24. Is there a certain type of scene that you have a hard time writing? (action, , etc..)

Romance and sometimes also natural conversations. I'm really no good at writing dates >.<

25. What story(s) are you working on now?

Quite a lot of them. I'll just say here that they are either about Super Junior, DBSK, or Troublemaker. The latter two are stories I'm writing with my close friends and I think they're turning out really good ;P

26. Do you plan your next project(s) before you finish your current ongoing story(s)?

Yes! Currently I'm writing at least 7 stories at more or less the same time, not all of them with the same enthusiasm. XD

27. Do you have a daily writing goal set for yourself?

No, that wouldn't work for me ^^' I either feel like writing and have a creative day or I simply don't.

28. Do you think you've improved as a writer since you first started?

I definitely did! Since I've started, I've learned more and more about the English language and I'm still doing my best to imrpove with both grammar and vocabulary. Nevertheless, I sometimes go back and think to myself that I like some of the phrases I used in one of my chapters and then I wonder why I'm not using it anymore.

29. What is your favorite story that you've written?

"One Step At A Time". I've written it with one of my best friends after we had that idea during a 30-minute drive and I think that because we worked on it together it turned out really good.

30. What is your least favorite story that you've written?

"Saranghaeyo - the Way of Love" and its sequel. I wrote that when I was still completely new to AFF and... I don't even know what I was really thinking while I wrote that. It's just a beginner's story, made of several oneshots, I think...

31. Where do you see yourself (as a writer) in 5 years?

I hope I'll still be writing on here and publishing new FFs, though I might not have a lot of time to write in 5 years.

32. How many upvotes do you have?

50

33. What is the easiest thing about writing?

I think it is coming up with an idea and then starting this idea.

34. What is the hardest thing about writing?

Not forgetting where I'm trying to go with my story as well as finding the right words to describe everything. I have yet to find out what the best mix of description and action is...

35. Why do you write?

I've always enjoyed writing. I could see what kinds of beautiful pieces of art others had already created and I hope to make people happy with what I'm writing. But it's also an outlet for me because once I've gotten an idea, I usually want to see how it can turn out and what I can do with it.

High five for having difficulty writing romance scenes xD Why is it so hard for us? Why are *ahem* other scenes so much easier to write in? xD
