35 questions for writers (taken from Snowflake21)

1. How did you come up with your username and what does it mean?

'Her dust is very pretty' is the last part of a Dorothy Parker poem. I can't remember what it's called but it's on my profile page if you want to read the full poem. It was my first tumblr URL too.

2. Which is your most subscribed to story?

No More Tears (ugh)

3. Why did you pick your user photo/thumbnail?

Because Chemical Garden trilogy is in lit. Ok the first book is. The other two not so much.

4. Who is your AFF bestie?

UHHHH IDK I DON'T GO ON HERE MUCH ANYMORE TBH

5. Is there a fanfic that you keep going back to read again and again?

Hmmmm not really on AFF. For a long while I kept rereading Mikssi's Making an Exception when I was still in the SHINee fandom. There was one fic I love of Leo and Hongbin but it was on tumblr and the person either moved (and didn't make a moved theme) or deleted their blog and I can't find it now :CCCC

6. How many stories are you subscribed to?

5. I don't really read much fanfiction tbh.

7. Which AU do you find yourself writing the most?

High school AUs.

8. How many friends do you have?

69 ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

9. Is there something you'd like to write about but are afraid of people judging you for it? (Feeling brave? If so, share it!)

Not really. I'm unashamed about everything tbh. I used to be freaked out by writing scenes because I thought people would think them 'insensitive' but I don't really care anymore.

10. Is there anything you would like to be better at on aff? Writing, graphic design (posters), replying to comments, updating regularly, etc..?

Actually finishing a goddamn story.

11. How many subscribers do you have?

Uniques: 1018 - Total: 1541

12. How many stories have you posted online to this day (finished and unfinished)?

On AFF, 20. On AO3 I've posted HEAPS.

13. How many stories do you have saved in your writing program?

WOw a lot. I now primarily use Google Docs and I have 28 in there. I have heaps more on my hard drive.

14. Do you write down story ideas, or just keep them in your head?

Write everything down.

15. Have you ever co-authored a story?

Nope but I'd like to

16. How did you discover AFF?

A friend told me about it.

17. Do you consider yourself to be a popular or famous author on AFF?

Maybe I used to be, at least in the Leobin community. Not so much anymore. I doubt anyone still remembers me.

18. Do you have a nickname or fandom name for your readers?

That'd be awesome if I did but no.

19. Was there an AFF author who inspired or encouraged you to write?

Not really.

20. How many karma points do you have?

2655

21. What writing advice would you give to a beginning author?

Well. This is. Kind of. Painful. A memory I have with an ex but I'll bring it up because I still think it's good advice. But I was once told if you can't think of anything to write just put SOMETHING on the page. Be it a date or a title or an idea. Just get something on the page. I now start every story by dating when exactly I started it (yes even the time). It's less intimidating that way.

22. Do you plot out your stories, or do you just figure it out as you go?

I often have a general idea or at least ideas for future chapters. But mostly I just bull my way through it lmao.

23. Have you ever gotten a bad review or comment on a story? If so, what did you do?

The only really negative comment I've gotten on a story on AFF was once being called insensitive when referring to ual abuse. It really offended me because. Um. You... do not know my past experiences. At all. And I'm not going to bring them up because of a negative comment. But wow. You really don't know me. And it bothered me that they called me insensitive when I was just talking from experience. Like ok. Sure. Cool.

24. Is there a certain type of scene that you have a hard time writing? (action, , etc..)

Action.

25. What story(s) are you working on now?

For AFF, not much. I plan to write another weeb Hongbin fic. This time about Ace of Diamond. I'll put it on AO3 likely too. Aside from that I'm working on a bunch of anime fics for AO3. I'm not really on AFF much anymore tbh.

26. Do you plan your next project(s) before you finish your current ongoing story(s)?

Lol yep

27. Do you have a daily writing goal set for yourself?

Nope

28. Do you think you've improved as a writer since you first started?

Yes. Drastically. I don't even want to look at the old AFF fanfics I wrote

29. What is your favorite story that you've written?

On AFF or ever? On AFF I am partial to 5.05 and Wonder. Off AFF I love Chemicals on my AO3. It's my baby. More of my baby than even NMT was. NMT was great but it was very painful for me to write. I wrote it to cope with stuff and as result there's a lot of bitterness in it.

30. What is your least favorite story that you've written?

The early fics I wrote. Eurgh.

31. Where do you see yourself (as a writer) in 5 years?

Probably not published yet but goddamn will I try (not very hard though)

32. How many upvotes do you have?

217. I never get upvotes. It makes me sad.

33. What is the easiest thing about writing?

For me it's writing dialogue. Chat/text based dialogue is especially fun.

34. What is the hardest thing about writing?

Starting and ending the story.

35. Why do you write?

Because it's fun. Gives me something to do and focus on, a reason to get up and be productive. I get to entertain people and I know I've changed some people's lives with my writing, which is a nice feeling. I guess I just like to make people happy. But it makes me happy too. It's fun to do.
