HELP! I need to re-let my apartment in Austin to someone!

So here's the situation, guys:

I was supposed to attend UT Austin this coming fall, right?  With financial issues at hand, my father (who is my guarantor because I don't turn 18 until September) and I opted that I live off-campus.

He and I found one at The G Apartments.

So he signed the lease and all that and I was set to go.

As it turns out, life...pooped on us, and my dad -- who's been low-key sick with diabetes since before I even graduated high school -- got worse.  So I had to pull my admission from UT because, with my dad sick, we can no longer afford university.  I don't like to talk about my dad's situation but if I want to be understood... I have to.  Now, I'm set to attend a community college in Houston (where I live) so I can stay home, get an affordable education, and be able to take care of my dad.

Which means I have to break away from the lease with the apartment.

Two ways I can do that:

#1.  I can find someone to replace me.

If I do this, I have to pay the apartment $250 for re-letting fees.  I can connect the person I'm re-letting the room to to the apartments myself as well.

OR

#2.  The apartments can find one for me.

In this case, I'd pay them $500, and I'd have to pay them regular rent UNTIL they find a replacement for me.  BUT this option is iffy because 1) there's no guarantee that they'd find one within the lease term and 2) there's no guarantee that they'd even try.

So I need your help, guys.

Is there anyone you know that needs an apartment in Austin, west campus, near UT?

Here are some details about the apartment:

  • It's an all-girl unit, so the tenant must be a girl w/ clean record ofc
  • Private bed, private bath
  • Rent is $775 a month, paid utilities include wi-fi and cable
  • It's actually a pretty nice place (click HERE for some pictures)
  • Again it's VERY close to UT ---- it's like across the street.  I've visited the complex and I was supposed to go to Moody College of Communications, and the college is like 15 mins away from the complex which is a reaaaaalllly nice distance

SOME THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

  • Please make sure you/the person that's interested in the apartment can afford it.  Because I can't and it , dude.
  • Please make sure that you/the person that's interested is ACTUALLY interested.  I just need to get this apartment out of my hands.  I'm so sorry if I sound impersonal but... I just need it gone.  I don't know any other way.

Thank you guys.  Please PM me or comment if you have any questions.
